INTRODUCCIÓNDentro del Complejo Principal de Histocompatibilidad (MHC), la familia alélica HLA B27 forma parte del locus HLA-B. El interés de esta familia alélica reside en su relación con distintas enfermedades reumáticas llamadas espondiloartritiopatías, entre las que podemos destacar la Espondilitis Anquilosante (EA).

Alrededor del 90% de estos pacientes con EA son HLA B27 positivo. Otras enfermedades autoinmunes relacionadas son la artritis reumatoidea juvenil (80% de los pacientes) y el síndrome de Reiter o artritis reactiva (50-80%). El HLA B27 también está presente en el 50% de los pacientes con enfermedad inflamatoria intestinal con espondilitis y psoriasis vulgar con espondilitis. El HLA B27 no es la causa de estas patologías, pero existe una mayor prevalencia de este antígeno en los pacientes afectados.

genvinset® HLA B27INTRODUCTIONWithin major histocompatibility complex (MHC), the allelic family HLA B27 is part of the HLA-B locus. The interest in this allelic family relies in its relation with different rheumatic diseases called spondyloarthropathies, from which we can highlight ankylosing spondylitis (AS).

Around 90% of the patients with AS are HLA B27 positive. Other related autoimmune diseases are Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (80% of patients), and the Reiter syndrome or reactive arthritis (50-80%). The HLA B27 is also present in 50% of the patients with inflammatory bowel disease with spondylitis and plaque psoriasis with spondylitis. HLA B27 is not the root cause of these pathologies, but there is a higher prevalence of this antigen in affected patients.
