Características / Characteristics Sabor: Este cigarro tiene sabores fuertes de cuero, tierra, heno y chocolate negro, junto con un interesante dulce de la vainilla que va y viene a lo largo del primer tercio. El ligero dulzor que estaba presente en el primer tercio del cigarro se empieza a disipar bastante rápido a medida que avanza el segundo tercio, para finalmente desaparecer por completo a mitad de la fumada. El tercio final es casi el mismo del segundo tercio, pero más fuerte. / Taste: The Foundry has strong flavors of leather, earth, hay and dark chocolate, along with an interesting vanilla sweetness that comes and goes throughout the first third. The slight sweetness that was present in the first third of the Foundry Europium starts to dissipate fairly quickly as the second third progress, eventually disappearing altogether by the halfway point. The final third of the Foundry Europium is almost the same of the second third, but stronger.

Hecho en República Domini-cana por General Cigar, Foun-dry Compounds, Elements & Musings Europium es parte de la Compañía de Tabacos de Foundry que presentó su primer cigarro en el Show de la IPCPR 2012.

Inspirados en la tabla pe-riódica, en 2013 anunciaron 18 mezclas diferentes a la vez, pertenecientes a la línea Compounds, Elements and Musings. El Europium es una de esas mezclas, vamos a co-nocerlo mejor a continuación.

Inspired by the periodic table, in 2013 they announced 18 different blends at once in the newly conceived Compounds, Elements and Musings line. The EUROPIUM it’s one of them, let know more about it.

Tres deliciosos rones dominica-nos, maridados con tres ex-quisitos cigarros dominicanos fueron el motivo de reunir a los Master Blenders de La Aurora Cigars y Barcelo & Co., Manuel Inoa y Roberto Jiménez, para dar a conocer al público la per-fecta mezcla de estos grandes productos.Para iniciar la actividad, se maridó el cigarro GUILLERMO LEÓN CORONA GORDA, con el RON BARCELÓ IMPERIAL. Este cigarro, de capa color marrón sedosa, cubre un cigarro de cuerpo medio que tiene notas agradables de madera, como el cedro. También tiene matices de cacao y especias. En la fu-mada, notas tostadas son evi-dentes con un aroma dinámico. Por último, un ligero toque de café está presente. Este cigarro se probó con el RON BARCELÓ IMPERIAL, que tiene un brillante color ámbar cobrizo. Aromas de crema de mantequilla, cerezas secas, vainilla intensa, merme-lada de piña y nueces carame-lizadas seguidas de una suave entrada a un seco pero afrutado y mediano y exuberante cuerpo con gran profundidad y equi-librio. Finaliza con un sabor a helado de pastel de zanahoria, nuez de cola, moca y un robus-to sabor tostado que poco a poco se desvanece.A continuación, el cigarro AU-RORA PREFERIDO DIAMOND, un cigarro de cuerpo completo con ricas notas de madera, especialmente de roble y cedro. Notas de café están presentes, así como los cítricos y frutos secos, como las almendras. Una capa aceitosa oscura da un rico y complejo toque final a este cigarro. Se maridó con el ron BARCELÓ 30 ANIVERSARIO, un ron que viene a celebrar el nacimiento en 1980 de la más fina joya de los rones Domi-nicanos, que tiene un olor de

frutas secas, vainilla, caramelo y chocolate negro, para un pala-dar rico y complejo con notas de café de azúcar, cítricos, cacao, cuero, tabaco y madera de roble. Para finalizar, dos grandes, el cigarro CIEN AÑOS ROBUSTO, un espléndido cigarro que tiene un tono café distintivo, realza-do por el cuero y la esencia de madera dulce. Con ricas notas afrutadas, de buena potencia y dulzura. Se puede apreciar la ligera melaza y toques de canela con ligeros frutos secos tostados. Para maridar este cigarro, se usó el RON AURO-RA 110 ANIVERSARIO un ron de color ambarino con ribetes cobrizos, brillante y cristalino. Que abre amplio en boca, cálido y bien equilibrado, para finalizar con un sabor dulzón herencia de las mieles de caña de azúcar con la que ha sido elaborado. Excelente madera, con aroma a fruta madura y recuerdos a higo. Mediano matiz a vainilla y caramelo toffee. Cierra largo y suave.

Three delicious Domi-nican rums, paired with three exquisite Domi-nican cigars were the reason for bring together the Master Blenders of La Aurora Cigars and Barceló & Co., Roberto Jimenez and Manuel Inoa, to give to the public the perfect blend of these great products.To start the activity, was pairing GUILLERMO LEON CORONA GOR-DA, with RON BARCELÓ IMPERIAL. The firth one, a brown and silky wrap-per cover this medium to full bodied cigar that have nice wood notes, such as cedar. There are also undertones of cacao and brown spices. During the smoking process, toasty notes are evident with a dynamic aroma. Finally a slight touch of coffee is present. This cigar was tested with RON BARCELÓ IM-PERIAL that has a bright coppery amber color. Aromas of cream butter, dried cherries, intensive vanilla, pineapple jam and cara-melized walnuts followed by a soft entry into a dry but fruity, medium and lush body with great depth and balance. It ends with a carrot cake ice cream taste, cola nut, mocha and a robust roasted flavor that slowly dissipates.Then the cigar AURORA PREFE-RRED DIAMOND, a full bodied cigar with rich wood notes, spe-cially oak and cedar. Coffee note are present, as well as dried citrus and dried nuts, such as almonds. A dark oily wrapper gives a rich and complex finishing touch to this cigar. Was pairing with RON BARCELÓ 30 ANIVERSARIO, that has an elegant nose of dried fruit, vanilla, caramel and dark chocola-te pave the way for a rich, complex palate featuring notes of brown sugar, citrus fruit, cocoa, leather, tobacco and oak. Finally, two grand, CIEN AÑOS ROBUSTO, a splendid cigar that has a distinctive coffee undertone,

enhanced by leather and sweet wood essence. Rich fruity notes with good potency and sweetness. Light molasses and underlining touches of cinnamon can be noted with light roasted nuts. To pair this cigar, was used RUM 110 AURORA ANNIVERSARY that is amber colored with copper tones, bright and crystalline. Opens in a spacious, warm and well balanced mouth, ending with a sweet taste of honey heritage from sugar cane with which it has been prepared. Excellent wood with ripe fruit aromas and hints of fig. Medium shade of vanilla and toffee. Close long and soft.

Su uso no solo se limita a ser un accesorio para guardar y conservar cigarros, es mucho más que eso. Los amantes del cigarro saben que a me-dida que un puro madura, su sabor mejora. En esta edición hablaremos de ese importante accesorio que sirve para conser-var los puros, siendo el ambiente perfecto alma-cenar los cigarros más preciados.El humidor o humidi-ficador, también cono-cido como humectador es un cajón de madera revestida interiormente de cedro, con un siste-ma de humidificación y un higrómetro, diseñado para controlar el grado de humedad y, a veces, con un termómetro que mide la temperatura. Existe una amplia gama de diseños y tamaños en los humidores, solo basta con elegirlo de acuerdo a la necesidad de cada quien, pero recordando siempre que la calidad es vital. Los tamaños van desde pequeños humi-dores de viaje con capa-cidad para unos pocos puros, hasta cabinas climatizadas para gran almacenaje, en las que incluso se puede caminar dentro. La cantidad de puros que se pueden almacenar en un humidor depende del formato de los puros, y del tamaño de la recáma-ra interior del humidor a la que se le debe restar el espacio que ocupa el sis-tema de humidificación.Los Humidores se pueden ensamblar con diferentes sistemas de humidifica-ción llamados también humidificadores. Pero la mayoría de los humidores

disponen de humidifica-dores (o sistemas de hu-midificación) recargable con agua demineralizada o destilada.Los puros deben almace-narse a una humedad de alrededor del 65% al 72% y a una temperatura entre los 16 y los 18 grados centígrados. Por esta razón, los puros deben ser almacenados en un humidor que mantenga un clima adecuado. En seco, los puros pierden su aroma y queman de forma desigual.Las primeras cajas para guardar puros y hojas de tabaco fueron construi-das con cedro español, que es muy común en América Central, donde se cultiva la plata de tabaco. Antes del siglo 18, los europeos fumaban, en su mayoría, tabaco en pipas, el fumar cigarros se hizo popular en el siglo 19. Se piensa que el primer hu-midor de gabinete fue in-ventado por un fabricante de muebles irlandés Terence Manning, quien trajo maderas exóticas y técnicas de ebanistería de Sudáfrica en 1887. Su familia llegó a ser conoci-da por sus humidores ar-tesanales, y su técnica se extendió por toda Europa y América.En la actualidad, existen muchos coleccionistas de Humidores y se fabrican cajas de diversas formas y tamaños, muchas de ellas con ediciones limi-tadas y números seriados para colección; lo que ha incrementado e incenti-vado los Amantes de los Humidores, que llegan a pagar fortunas por tener en su colección una pieza de diseño original.

Este humidor participó en la subasta de Procigar 2014 con un precio inicial de 5,000 dólares, alcanzando una venta final de 19,000 dólares. Tiene capacidad para almacenar 110 cigarros. Its use is not limited to being an accessory to store and preserve cigars; it’s much more than that. The cigars lovers know that accor-ding as a cigar mature their flavor improves. In this edition we will write about this important acces-sory that serves to preserve the ci-gar, being the perfect environment for storing precious cigars.The humidor or humidifier, also known as humidifier is a wooden box lined inside with cedar with a humidification system and hy-grometer, designed to control the humidity and sometimes with a thermometer that measures the temperature.There a wide range of designs and sizes in the humidors, just enough to choose according to the need of everyone, but always remem-bering that quality is vital. Sizes range from small travel humidors for up to a few pure until heated cabins for large storage that you can even walk inside.The amount of cigars that can be stored in a humidor depends on the format of the cigar and the size of the interior chamber of the humidor that you must subtract the space occupied by the humidi-fication system.The humidors can be assembled with different humidification sys-tems (also called “Humidifiers”). But most humidors have humidi-fiers (or humidification systems) Rechargeable with demineralized or distilled water.The cigars should be stored at a

humidity of about 65% to 72% and a temperature between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius. For this reason, cigars should be stored in a humidor that holds a suitable climate. In dry, the cigars lose its scent and burn unevenly.Early tobacco curing barns were built out of Spanish cedar, which is very common in Central America where tobacco is grown. Before the 18th cen-tury, Europeans mostly smoked tobacco in pipes, and cigars first became popular there in the 19th century. The first cabinet humidor was thought to have been inven-ted by an Irish furniture maker Terence Manning, who brought home exotic woods and cabinetry techniques from South Africa in 1887. His family became known for their handcrafted humidors, and their techniques spread throughout Europe and America.At present, there are many Humi-dors collectors and are produced Humidors boxes of various sha-pes and sizes, many with limited editions and collectable serial numbers; which has encouraged the Humidors Lovers, reaching to pay fortunes to have in its collec-tion a piece of original design.
