El jueves 14 de abril del 2016, desde las 19:00 hasta las 23:30, Cigar Country Benefit celebrará su segundo evento anual “Top Dominican Cigar”, a beneficio de la fundación DREAM Project, en el que Cigar Aficionado reconoce al fabricante del mejor cigarro Dominicano del año, Tabacalera A. Fuente y su Don Carlos Belicoso.

El evento tendrá lugar en el JW Ma-rriot Hotel - Santo Domingo, donde los participantes tendrán la opor-tunidad de disfrutar de una noche mágica en la que recibirán una caja Edición Limitada del cigarro del año, degustación de lo mejor de la Tabacalera A. Fuente y sus colegas de Procigar, bebidas premium, mú-sica en vivo, tapas, rifas y subastas de productos exclusivos.

El dinero recaudado será desti-nado 100% para el programa de educación temprana Montessori de DREAM, para que los niños y jóvenes en la Republica Dominica-na tengan igualdad de oportuni-dades para aprender y desarrollar todo su potencial a través de programas de educación transfor-madora que combatan los efectos de la pobreza.

Ofrece a los aficionados al tabaco de pipa de todo el mundo una emocionante nueva experiencia de sabor, gra-cias a la variedad de exquisitos tabacos de Brasil, Chipre, Turquía y Malaui que incorpora.Para la mezcla se ha usado tabacos Black Cavendish (Bra-sil), Latakia (Chipre), Zaire RR, Oriental (Turquía), Burley (Malaui) aromatizados con cereza/vai-nilla y ron. El nuevo tabaco de pipa Davidoff “Limited Edition 45 years” permite a los aficionados al tabaco de pipa disfrutar los sa-bores equilibrados y afrutados de este tabaco en toda su extensión. Al encenderlo se desatan notas de cereza, acompañadas de aro-mas de especias, ciruela, vainilla y miel. Los tabacos ligeros y de

color castaño medio de Virginia, de corte pequeño y cuadrado con notas de Latakia permanecen en un segundo plano, aportando un carácter agradable e inolvidable durante las últimas caladas.La “Davidoff Tobacco Edition 45 years” está limitada a 6000 latas en todo el mundo (las latas están numeradas). Estará disponible para los aficionados al tabaco de pipa en establecimientos selec-cionados y en las tiendas insignia Davidoff de todo el mundo desde marzo de 2016.

LA PIPA “DAVIDOFF LIMITED EDITION 45 YEARS”Para esta pipa artesana espe-cial, Davidoff ha seleccionado la exclusiva madera de brezo de Calabria, en concreto, la madera de la raíz de brezo blanco, que crece normalmente en la región mediterránea. El brezo empleado para las pipas Davidoff Limited Edition 45 years se ha sometido a un proceso de secado de 10 años. Con el tiempo, la raíz del brezo se vuelve más dura y lo

suficientemente densa como para resistir el calor del tabaco ardiendo y los fluidos que se producen durante la combustión. Los mejores brezos exhiben her-mosas y evocadoras vetas que trazan anillos de color, puestas al descubierto por el maestro tallis-ta y pulidas a mano para conse-guir un elevado brillo. La crea-ción de una pipa requiere más de 90 procesos. Cada una de estas extremadamente lujosas pipas Davidoff está numerada y ha sido decorada con una anilla de plata (92,5 % de pureza) que realza con elegancia el contraste entre la boquilla negra y la madera veteada. La pipa se presenta en un elegante estuche negro que incluye una bolsa de piel napa de gran suavidad en el interior. La pipa Davidoff “Edition 45 years” está limitada a 45 unidades.

It offers pipe aficionados across the globe an exciting new taste experience thanks to a variety of the finest tobaccos from Brazil, Cyprus, Turkey and Malawi.For the blend, they used to-baccos from Black Cavendish (Brazil), Latakia (Cyprus), Zaire RR, Oriental (Turkey), Burley (Malawi) flavoured with Cherry/Vanilla and Rum. The new Davidoff Pipe Tobacco “Limited Edition 45 years” allows the pipe aficionado to enjoy the tobacco’s balanced and fruity flavours for its entire length. When lighting it up, cherry notes are paired with spices, plum, vanilla and honey aromas. The medium brown and light Virgina tobaccos in a grainy square cut with hints of Latakia stay in the background so that one is left with a delightful and memorable character during the last few puffs. The Davidoff Tobacco Edition 45 years is limited to 6‘000 tins globally (each tin is numbered). It will be available to pipe afi-cionados at selected Appointed Merchants and Depositaires/Da-vidoff Flagship Stores worldwide starting in March 2016.

THE DAVIDOFF LIMITED EDITION 45 YEARS PIPEFor this special handcrafted pipe, Davidoff has chosen the exclu-sive briar wood from Calabria – the burlwood of the White Heath Tree, typically found around the Mediterranean Sea. The briar used for the Davidoff Limited Edition 45 years Pipes is dried for 10 years. With age, the briar root becomes tight and dense enough to resist both the heat of lighted tobacco and the juices produced during the smoke. The best briars have beautifully evocative grains – flowing rings of colour, brought to life by the carver and are richly hand polis-hed to high gloss. More than 90 steps are needed to

create one pipe. Each of these most luxurious

El Noveno Festival Anual PROCIGAR concluyó su celebración de una semana con una gala en el Centro de Santiago Español el vier-nes 26 de febrero del 2016, que levantó un récord de $201,000 dólares en una subasta en vivo, más del doble de la cantidad obte-nida el año anterior. Todas las ganancias de la subasta benefician al Voluntariado de Jesús con Los Niños (una organización sin ánimo de lucro para niños enfermos), La Sociedad San Vicente de Paúl (una casa de retiro para ancianos de bajos ingresos) y al Monumento a los Héroes de la Restauración. La subasta en vivo, co-or-ganizada por Manuel Que-sada presidente de Quesada Cigarros y vicepresidente de PROCIGAR, y Michael Herklots, vicepresidente de Retail y Desarrollo de Marca de Nat Sherman, contó con 14 lotes oficiales, así como varios lotes sin previo aviso. Casi la totalidad de los lotes eran humidores o puros de edición limitada. La subas-ta se abrió con un lote de calentamiento, una pajarita y pañuelo robados al Sr. Albert Montserrat, presidente de Cigar Rings, que a pesar de una guerra de ofertas para ganar de nuevo su pajarita, fue vendida al compañero de mesa Litto Gómez, presiden-te de La Flor Dominicana, por US$1,000.Un humidor, tipo maleta de época, lleno de cigarros Davidoff edición limitada que ofreció Oettinger Davidoff AG Tabadom Holding, Inc se vendió por US$58,000, la cantidad más alta pagada por mucho durante la noche. Un impresionante humidor esculpido en escala, répli-

ca de un típico « Coche de Santiago “ y lleno de cigarros de De Los Reyes Cigars, se convirtió en el segundo cierre más alto por $50,000 dóla-res. La subasta concluyó con Manuel Quesada siendo retado por el Litto Gómez a afeitarse el bigote. La lici-tación se inició en US$4,700 (cien dólares por cada año que el Sr. Quesada había tenido su bigote), y a través de un esfuerzo conjunto de contribuciones, la participa-ción total de la noche para eliminar el bigote de Quesa-da alcanzó US$15,000.

The Ninth Annual ProCigar Festival concluded its wee-klong celebration with a gala in Santiago’s Centro Español on Friday, February 26, 2016, that raised a record breaking US$201,000 in a live auction, more than doubling the amou-nt raised the prior year. All of the proceeds from the auction benefit The Voluntariado de Je-sús con los Niños (a non-profit organization for ill children), The Sociedad San Vicente de Paul (a retirement home for low income elderly) and The Monumento a los Heroes de la Restauración.The live auction, co-hosted by Quesada Cigars President and Vice President of ProCigar Manuel Quesada, and Michael Herklots, Vice President of Retail and Brand Development of Nat Sherman, featured 14 official lots, as well as several unannounced lots. Nearly all of the lots featured one-of-a-kind humidors or limited edition cigars. The auction opened with a warm up lot, a bow-tie and handkerchief stolen off Mr. Albert Montserrat, President of Cigar Rings which despite a bidding war to win it back was sold to tablemate Litto Gómez, President of La Flor Dominicana Cigars, for US$1,000.A custom Trunk Humidor filled with long sold out limited edition Davidoff Cigars offe-red by Oettinger Davidoff AG’s Tabadom Holding, Inc fetched $58,000, the highest amount paid for a lot during the evening. A stunning humidor sculpted in replica scale of a typical “Santiago Coche” and filled with cigars from De Los Reyes Cigars, brought in the second highest closing bid of $50,000. The Auction concluded with Manuel Quesada being challen-ged by Mr. Gomez to shave his moustache. The bidding began at $4,700 (one hundred dollars per year that the moustache had been on Mr. Quesada), and through a group effort of contributions brought in a total of $15,000 to evening’s total to remove Quesada’s moustache.
