APORTE GERMAN ANDRES GUTIERREZ

My name is GERMAN ANDRÉS GUTIERREZ PEÑA, I'm 27 years old and I like a lot English language. I’m from Bogotá Colombia and I still live in this beautiful and cold city and I’m very proud of being Colombian. My mom gave birth to a smart baby (that’s right that was me) on July 7th 1986.

Group: "I'm part of group 320”. The CEAD I belong to is called “José Acevedo y Gomez”, and also I’m in the Telecommunication Engineering Program.

I’m writing about Bogotá, Bogotá is located at the top __ Bogota’s savannah, almost in the middle of Colombia. With a population of about 8.8 million people, Bogota sits approximately 8,660 feet (2640 m) above sea level in the Colombian Andes region. Orientation is relatively easy, as the mountains to the east are generally visible from most parts of the city.

Interesting places I visited are:

La Candelaria

This is a very old and interesting district and I did see and feel the colonial aspects of it when I went there ___ the first time. The most important places are La Catedral, Plaza de Bolivar, Palacio de Nariño, Iglesia del Carmen, Biblioteca Luis A Arango (blaa), the Colonial Art Museum and the old architecture of the houses and buildings. Several of those buildings I have seen and they were very interesting. Also I always was interested __ the numerous Catholic Churches, many of them centuries-old.

San Diego

· If you want to have a feeling of what the city is about you ought to go up cerro de Monserrate!, The first time, I went up using the funicular, the second time I climbed up and after I did ___, I knew right away I should had better go up Hiking up the stone-set path up Monserrate because doing so is a lot of fun, at the top you can have the most beautiful panoramic of the city you have had. I always preferred physical activities back then? and still I do. You will have the most amazing views and also enjoy Colombian or French food in the two full-service restaurants at the top. The beginning of the way up to Monserrate can be found near Los Andres university. Transmilenio station Las Aguas is conveniently located.

Museo Nacional, The National Museum is the oldest in the country and one of the oldest in the continent, built in 1823. Its fortress architecture is built in stone and brick. While walking through the building you have to see and appreciate the antique architecture. The plant includes arches, domes and columns forming a sort of Greek cross, over which 104 prison cells are distributed. To be impressed you need to see the collection of over 20,000 pieces including works of art and objects representing different national history periods.
