    GENERAL

This Lubrication Order (LO) is for operator or field maintenance. The localized views (LV A LV AG) illustrate thespecific lubrication items on the Bituminous Material Paving Machine (BMPM). Lube intervals (on-condition or hardtime) are based on normal operation. Lube more during constant use and less during inactive periods. Use

correct grade of lubricant for seasonal temperature expected.Engine, transmission, and hydraulic system oil filters shall be changed:

    a) When they are contaminated or known to be clogged.

    b) At prescribed hard time intervals.

Clean all fittings and areas around lubrication points with dry cleaning solvent or equivalent before lubricatingequipment. After lubrication, wipe off excess oil or grease to prevent accumulation of foreign matter.

Before you start your lube service:

    ALWAYS

    a) Clean grease fittings before lubrication.

    b) Use the lubrication order as your guide.NEVER

    a) Use wrong type/grade grease.

    b) Use too much lubricant.

Army Oil Analysis Program (AOAP) Sampling Statement

This BMPM is not enrolled in the AOAP. HARDTIME INTERVALS APPLY.

    Warranty Hardtime Statement

For equipment under manufacturers warranty, hardtime oil service intervals shall be followed. Intervals shall beshortened if lubricants are known to be contaminated or if operation is under adverse conditions such as longer than usual operating hours, extended idling periods, extreme dust, etc.
