I. DESCRIPCIÓN Y CONEXIÓN

1. Descripción

Matriz Microprocesada de Audio para instalaciones de megafonía. De concepción totalmente modular, permite el control y direccionamiento simultáneo de 16 señales de audio (programa y/o prioridad) hacia diferentes salidas cubriendo todas las necesidades de una instalación de megafonía.

Su diseño permite realizar instalaciones que cumplan con las especifi caciones de la normativa de evacuación EN/UNE 60849.

Características:

• Matriz microprocesada de audio con funcionamiento “Stand-alone” o controlada por PC

• 10 posiciones para el alojamiento de tarjetas.

• Conector de expansión de bus de audio (16 canales), para enlazar diferentes “mainframes”.

• Bus de control RS485, permite enlazar diferentes UMX02/0 entre ellos y/o hacia un PC (opcional).

• Altavoz de monitorización de los 16 canales de audio.

• Display alfanumérico de 4 x 20 caracteres.

• Teclado frontal.

• Confi guración mediante el teclado frontal y/o PC externo.

• Funcionamiento independiente y/o con PC de monitorización.

• Alimentación a 24 Vcc.

• Ocupa 2 unidades en rack de 19’’.

2. Módulo de alimentación y control

2.1. Alimentación

Para alimentar la UMX-02/0 es necesaria una fuente de alimentación de 24 V.c.c.

El consumo, sin tarjetas, es de 285mA. Al colocar las distintas tarjetas, el consumo aumentará en función del modelo y la cantidad de tarjetas colocadas.

2.2. Conexión de la entrada y la salida RS-485

La UMX-02/0 se comunica con el PC de control y los distintos elementos del sistema analógico (MD-500, MD-500EM, COU-02, UDCE-01...) a través de un bus RS485. Para ello, utiliza el protocolo CSMA (Carrier Sense Multiple Acces)

Deben utilizarse conectores RJ45 de 8 contactos, con carcasa metálica.

2.3. Conexión de la masa al chasis

En toda instalación de megafonía es muy importante que haya un solo punto de unión entre la masa de señal y el contacto de tierra de la red.

Si la instalación de megafonía está compuesta por varios aparatos, probablemente tendrán los chasis unidos, bien mediante el terminal de tierra de la conexión a la red, o bien porque están montados en un armario rack.

Si las masas están también unidas por los circuitos de señal, es aconsejable quitar el puente entre la masa y el chasis de todos los aparatos excepto uno.

Para separar la masa del chasis en la UMX-02/0, debe quitarse la placa del módulo de alimentación-control y extraer el puente JP1.

3. Expansión de la UMX-02/0

En el caso en que el número de tarjetas necesarias para una instalación no quepan en una UMX-02/0 (más de 10 tarjetas), se pueden ubicar en varios “mainframes”.

Estos deben unirse mediante el bus de control RS485 y el bus de audio, accesibles externamente, tal y como se indica en la fi gura 6.

Para unir el bus RS485 deben utilizarse conectores RJ45 de 8 pins con carcasa metálica y cable CAT 5 STP (ver apartado 2.2. Conexión de la entrada y la salida RS-485).

Para unir el bus de audio debe utilizarse cable plano de 34 vías. Al montar el cable debe ponerse especial cuidado en colocar los conectores en la misma posición y cara del cable.

4. Controles frontales

4.1. Monitorización

4.1.1. Selección del canal

Pulse los botones CHANNEL SELECTOR (+ y - ) hasta que en el display se indique el canal deseado.

4.1.2. Volumen de monitorización

Pulse los botones MONITOR VOLUME (+ y - ) hasta obtener el volumen deseado.

4.1.3. Nivel del canal

La barra de leds permite visualizar el nivel de señal de cada uno de los 16 canales de audio internos de la UMX-02/0.

4.2.1. Teclas de navegaciónPulse las teclas de navegación para desplazarse dentro de un menú o para mover el cursor dentro de un grupo.

4.2.2. Tecla MENU/OKSe utiliza para:

Entrar a un menú seleccionado.

Guardar un cambio.

4.2.3. Tecla CANCEL Permite salir de un menú o cancelar cambios no guardados.

4.2.4. Tecla ENTERSe utiliza para:

Seleccionar una opción (no un menú).

Agregar elementos a una cadena de texto.

4.2.5. Tecla DEL Se utiliza para eliminar un elemento de una cadena de texto.

4.2.6. Teclado numérico.Las teclas 0 a 9 se utilizan para entrar datos numéricos.

Cuando el sistema requiere un dato numérico, en el display aparece el cursor parpadeando.

4.3. Display

La UMX-02/0 dispone de un display alfanumérico de 4 x 20 caracteres.

4.3.1. Caracteres especiales

4.4. Conector download DB-9

Para acceder al conector download DB-9 quitaremos la placa frontal download.Este conector DB-9 permite la actualización del fi rmware y confi guración del equipo.

4.4.1. Descarga de confi guraciones al equipo a través del conector DB-9 frontal1. Apague la UMX-02/0 mediante el interruptor ON/OFF.

2. Coloque el dipswitch frontal en posición RS232 CONFIGURATION.

4. Alimente la UMX-02/0.

El display LCD de la UMX-02/0 queda inhabilitado y solo aparecen recuadros negros en posiciones aleatorias.

5. Abra el software SCF-01 ó SCM-01 (P.A. Manager), y efectúe la descarga de confi guraciones (para más información vea el manual de usuario del P.A. Manager)

6. Desconecte la alimentación de la UMX-02/0.

7. Desconecte el cable RS232.

8. Coloque el dipswitch frontal en posición NORMAL MODE y alimente de nuevo la UMX-02/0.

3. Conecte el cable RS232 entre el PC y el conector frontal de la UMX-02/0.

4.4.2. Actualización del fi rmware para UMX-02/0 a través del conector DB-9 frontal

1. Apague la UMX-02/0 mediante el interruptor ON/OFF.

2. Coloque el Dipswitch frontal en posición FIRMWARE DOWNLOAD MODE.

3. Conecte el cable RS232 entre el PC y el conector frontal de la UMX-02/0. (Fig. 10)

4. Alimente la UMX-02/0.

El display LCD de la UMX-02/0 queda inhabilitado y solo aparecen recuadros negros en posiciones aleatorias.

5. Inicie el software FLASH DEVELOPMENT TOOLKIT BASIC, haciendo doble clic sobre el icono correspondiente.

6. Abra el menu Options. Habilite la opcion AutoDisconnect y seleccione New Settings.

7. Seleccione el proyecto UMX_H8_3064.AWS o UMX_H8_3068.AWS ( en funcion de la etiqueta situada en la parte posterior de la UMX-02/0) y haga un clic en Siguiente.

8. Seleccione el puerto que se vaya a usar y haga clic en Siguiente.

9. Seleccione la frecuencia segun el equipo (UMX=7.3728 Mhz)y haga clic en Siguiente.

10. Deje las opciones por defecto y haga clic en Siguiente.

11. Dejelas opciones por defecto y clicar Finalizar.

12. Active el checkbox User/Data Area y haga clic en el botón y seleccione Browse.

13. Seleccione el archivo que se desea descargar al equipo y haga clic en Abrir.

14. Haga clic en el botón Program Flash y empezará la descarga. Cuando la descarga fi naliza aparece el mensaje “Image succefully Written to device” en color verde.

15. Cierre el software Flash Development Toolkit Basic seleccionando Exit.

16. Desconecte la alimentación de la UMX-02/0.

17. Desconecte el cable de download.

18. Coloque el dipswitch frontal de la UMX-02/0 en posición NORMAL MODE.

19. Conecte la alimentación de la UMX-02/0.

20. Para comprobar si la versión del fi rmware está actualizada, pulse la tecla CANCEL de la UMX-02/0 y en el display debe aparecer la nueva versión.

II. CONFIGURACIÓN

1. Generalidades

Antes de utilizar la UMX-02/0 es absolutamente necesaria su confi guración.

Ésta dependerá del número y tipo de tarjetas de la serie UMX-02/0 que la matriz tenga insertadas, así como de las características concretas de cada instalación.

Para crear o modifi car cualquier confi guración es necesario introducir previamente la clave de acceso. Para

ello, lea el apartado II. Confi guración / 5. Menú Usuario.

Es recomendable efectuar la confi guración con las distintas tarjetas colocadas en la matriz y los cables conectados.

En instalaciones que se confi guren a través de un PC, siga el apartado II. Confi guración / 3.7. Opciones Comunes y confi gure el parámetro Direccion de la UMX-02/0. A continuación, siga el manual de confi guración del software P.A. Manager

Este menú permite la confi guración de las tarjetas de entrada UMX-2E y UMX-EGC.

Tras seleccionar la opción Entradas Audio en el menú Confi guraciones, aparece una lista de 20 elementos. Cada uno representa a una de las 20 posibles entradas (una UMX-02/0 dispone de 10 espacios para tarjeta, y cada tarjeta dispone de 2 entradas).

Dirección:

Es un número comprendido entre 1 y 99 que identifi ca a cada una de las UMX-02/0 conectadas al bus RS485. Cada número es único e irrepetible para cada instalación.

Entrada física:

Número que identifi ca cada una de las entradas de audio en función de la posición que ocupa la tarjeta de entrada en la UMX-02/0. Cada UMX-02/0 dispone de 10 espacios de tarjeta, y cada tarjeta dos entradas por lo que las entradas van de la 01 a la 20.

i:

Input. Indica entrada.

Entrada lógica:

Numero entre 1 y 9999, confi gurable por el usuario, con el que se identifi cará dicha entrada en los distintos menús.

Indicador de presencia de tarjeta:

Tarjeta no presente o no detectada.

• I. Número Entrada

También llamada Entrada Lógica.

Mediante el teclado numérico, introduzca un número entre 1 y 9999.

Este número será el que identifi cará a dicha entrada en los distintos menús.

No puede haber más de una entrada lógica con el mismo número.

Pulse la tecla MENU/OK para guardar los datos.

• II. Etiqueta

La información de esta etiqueta debe rellenarse desde el ordenador de control. El texto que contiene es meramente informativo.

• III. Pro / Pri

Programa: la señal aplicada a esta entrada saldrá por las salidas de audio que tengan esta entraçda de programa asociada.

Prioridad: la señal aplicada a esta entrada saldrá por las salidas asociadas cuando se active el contacto de prioridad.

Sitúese mediante las teclas de navegación sobre Programa o Prioridad y pulse la tecla 5 para seleccionar.

La marca √ indica la confi guración actual.


• IV. Salidas Asoc.

Son las salidas de audio por las que saldrá la señal aplicada a esta entrada cuando se active el contacto de prioridad.

Para asociar una salida, debe introducirse, mediante el teclado numérico, su número de salida lógica.

También es posible asociar Grupos. Para ello, debe introducirse, mediante el teclado numérico, el número de Grupo que se desee asociar. Los grupos deben ser creados anteriormente mediante el menú Grupos (véase apartado II. Confi guración / 3.6. Grupos).

Para añadir otras zonas o grupos, pulse la tecla

5 y a continuación el nombre de la zona o grupo que desee añadir (máximo 100 salidas y/o grupos asociados a una entrada).

• V. Nivel Prior.

Nivel de prioridad de cada entrada confi gurada como Prioridad respecto a las demás.

Existen 64 niveles distintos de prioridad.Máxima prioridad = 0Mínima prioridad = 63

Por defecto se establece una prioridad 5.

• VI. Gong (solamente para las entradas de la tarjeta UMX-EGC)

Permite la confi guración del gong para las entradas confi guradas como prioridad.

Off: Desactiva el preaviso.

Tonos: Activa el gong de la tarjeta.

3.2.2. Confi guración de las Entradas de AudioTras seleccionar la opción Entradas Audio en el menú Confi guraciones, seleccione la entrada que desee confi gurar mediante las teclas de navegación.

Seleccione las distintas opciones del menú mediante las teclas de navegación. Una vez seleccionada una opción, entre en ella mediante la tecla MENU/OK. Para salir de un menú pulse la tecla CANCEL.

Personal: Activa el preanuncio personalizado. Este debe ser grabado previamente. La utilización del preanuncio personalizado es inconpatible con el uso de las colas y de los mesajes pregrabados en tarjeta (RP1).


Sitúe los indicadores de posición sobre la opción que desee y pulse la tecla 5 para seleccionar.


• VII. RP1 (solamente para las entradas de la tarjeta UMX-EGC).

En entradas confi guradas como prioridad, esta opción permite la grabación de un mensaje en la memoria de la tarjeta para reproducirlo cuando se quiera (activando el contacto de prioridad de la entrada de audio)

Esta opción es incompatible con la utilización de preanuncio personalizado y de cola de mesajes.

Activación / Desactivación de la función RP1:

Seleccione la opción RP1 y pulse MENU/OK.

Seleccione Off (RP1 desactivada) o On (RP1 activada) y pulse la tecla 5 para confi rmar.


Nota: Las opciones RP1 y Colas son excluyentes. Al activar la función RP1 la función de Colas queda deshabilitada.Pulse MENU/OK para confi rmar o CANCEL para descartar el cambio.

Confi guración del mensaje de RP1:

Seleccione On y pulse MENU/OK. Aparecen tres opciones:

1. Grabación del mensaje:

Conecte la fuente de audio, con un nivel de 0dB a la entrada de la tarjeta UMX-EGC siguiendo la fi gura 9.

Seleccione Grabar Mensaje y pulse MENU/OK.

Pulse de nuevo MENU/OK para iniciar la grabación.

Pulse qualquier tecla para fi nalizar la grabación.

2. Reproducción del mensaje:

Seleccione Reproducir Mensaje y pulse MENU/OK.

Sitúe el monitor en el canal indicado (mediantes las teclas CHANNEL SELECTOR) y pulse la tecla MENU/OK.

3. Modo de Reproducción:

Nota: Para modifi car y guardar los cambios sobre el modo de reproducción, la función RP1 debe estar en posición On.

Seleccione Modo Reproduccion y pulse MENU/OK.

Sitúe los indicadores de posición sobre Una vez (el mensaje se reproducirá una sola vez al activar la prioridad de entrada) o Continua (el mensaje se reproducirá continuamente mientras permanezca activa la prioridad de entrada) y pulse la tecla 5.

Pulse MENU/OK para guardar los datos.

• VIII. Colas (solamente para las entradas de la tarjeta UMX-EGC).

En entradas confi guradas como prioridad, las utilización de colas evita la pérdida de avisos cuando las salidas a las que van dirigidas un aviso están ocupadas.

El sistema graba automáticamente todos los avisos en una memoria temporal y cuando las salidas están libres, reproduce el aviso.

Esta opción es incompatible con la utilización de preanuncio personalizado y de los mesajes pregrabados en tarjeta (RP1).

Mediante las teclas de navegación, ajuste el nivel de graves entre ±10 dB.


Agudos:

Seleccione la opción Agudos y pulse MENU/OK.

Incremento/Decremento Volumen:

Este parámetro permite incrementar o decrementar el volumen al activar un contacto de entrada.

3.3.2. Confi guración de las Salidas de Audio

Tras seleccionar la opción Salidas Audio en el menú Confi guraciones, seleccione la salida que desee confi gurar mediante las teclas de navegación.

Pulse MENU/OK.

Seleccione las distintas opciones del menú mediante las teclas de navegación. Una vez seleccionada una opción, entre en ella mediante la tecla MENU/OK. Para salir de un menú pulse la tecla CANCEL.

Mediante las teclas de navegación, ajuste el incremento (de 1 a 32) o decremento (de –1 a –32) de volumen. Hay que tener en cuenta que los valores de volumen oscilan entre 0 (volumen cerrado) y 32 (máximo volumen).


Si requiere esta funcionalidad es necesario confi gurar un contacto de la tarjeta UMX-EC con la funcionalidad Inc/Dec Volumen (vea el apartado II. Confi guración / 3.4. Entradas de contactos), asociando el contacto a esta salida para que, al detectar su activación, se efectúe el incremento o decremento de volumen.

2. Volumen Prioridad (Vol. Prio.)

Desde este menú se confi guran los parámetros de volumen de prioridad: Volumen, graves, agudos y Inc / Dec volumen.

Entre en el menú de volumen de prioridad seleccionando la opción Vol. Prio. y pulsando la tecla MENU/OK.

Las opciones de confi guración son las mismas que las del volumen de programa, sólo que en este caso afectan al volumen de prioridad.

3. Avanzadas

Permite confi gurar los parámetros de volumen de prioridad de una salida (volumen, graves y agudos) en función de la entrada generadora del aviso. De este modo, una salida puede tener distintas ecualizaciones en función de la entrada de audio utilizada.

Para entrar en el menú seleccione Avanzadas y pulse la tecla MENU/OK.

Aparecen cuatro opciones:

• Nuevo

• Modifi car

• Borrar

• Lista

Nuevo

A través de este menú se crean nuevas ecualizaciones. Cada ecualización pertenece a una entrada distinta.

1. Seleccione Nuevo y pulse MENU/OK.

2. Introduzca el número de la entrada que desee ecualizar y pulse MENU/OK.

3. Seleccione el parámetro que desee confi gurar y pulse la tecla MENU/OK.

4. Para modifi car un valor utilice las teclas de navegación.

• Volumen: Establece un volumen entre 0 y 32.

• Graves: Ajuste el nivel de Graves entre ±10 dB.

• Agudos: Ajuste el nivel de agudos entre ±10 dB

• Habilit/Inhab.: Activa (habilitada) o desactiva (inhabilitada) una ecualización.

• Eliminar: Elimina la ecualización.

5. Pulse MENU/OK para guardar los datos o CANCEL para salir sin guardar.

Modifi car

Modifi ca los parámetros de una ecualización creada anteriormente.

1. Seleccione Modifi car y pulse MENU/OK.

2. Introduzca el número de la entrada que desea modifi car y pulse MENU/OK.

3. Seleccione el parámetro que desee modifi car (Volumen, Agudos, Graves, Habilit/Inhab., Eliminar ) y pulse la tecla MENU/OK.

4. Para modifi car un valor utilice las teclas de navegación.

5. Pulse MENU/OK para guardar los datos o CANCEL para salir sin guardar.

Borrar

Permite eliminar la ecualización de una entrada determinada.

1. Seleccione Borrar y pulse MENU/OK.

2. Introduzca el número de la entrada a la que desea eliminar la ecualización y pulse MENU/OK.

Lista

Permite visualizar todas las entradas que tienen una ecualización para esta salida.

Desde este menú, también es posible modifi car o eliminar una ecualización determinada.

Para ello, seleccione una entrada de la lista, pulse la tecla MENU/OK y modifi que el parámetro que desee (Volumen, Agudos, Graves, Habilit/Inhab. y Eliminar ).

Para modifi car un valor utilice las teclas de navegación.

Pulse MENU/OK para guardar los datos o CANCEL para salir sin guardar.

• IV. Entrada Asoc.

La entrada asociada debe ser una entrada de programa (normalmente música).

La señal aplicada a la entrada asociada estará presente en la salida mientras la salida este en reposo (mientras no se active la prioridad de dicha salida).

1. Seleccione Entrada Asoc.

2. Pulse MENU/OK.

3. Introduzca el número de la entrada que desee asociar (número de entrada lógica).

Habilita o inhabilita la salida.

Sitúese sobre la opción que desee y pulse la tecla

3.4. Entradas de contactos

Este menú permite la confi guración de las tarjetas de entrada de contactos UMX-ECT.

Tras seleccionar la opción Entradas Contactos mediante las teclas de navegación, pulse MENU/OK.

En el menú Confi guraciones, aparece una lista de 11 elementos. Cada uno de los diez primeros representa a una de las 10 posibles tarjetas de contactos que puede contener una UMX-02/0.

La opción Por defecto inhabilita todos los contactos de entrada de todas las tarjetas UMX-ECT de la UMX-02/0.

Escoja la tarjeta que desee confi gurar en función de su posición en la UMX-02/0 y pulse MENU/OK.

Una vez seleccionada la tarjeta, escoja el contacto que desee confi gurar y pulse de nuevo MENU/OK. Cada tarjeta dispone de 8 contactos.

Confi gure las distintas opciones del menú siguiendo el apartado II. Confi guración / 3.4.2 Confi guración de las Entradas de Contactos.

La opción Por defecto inhabilita todos los contactos de entrada de la tarjeta UMX-ECT.

• I. Número de contacto de entrada

Seleccione Numero Ct Entrada y pulse MENU/OK.


Este número será el que identifi cará a este contacto de entrada en los distintos menús.

No puede haber más de un contacto de entrada con el mismo número.

Por defecto, la UMX-02/0 numera los contactos de la tarjeta UMX-ECT a partir de 10001.

2. Selección Entrada

Se defi nen una entrada de audio y unas salidas de audio.

Al activar la entrada de contacto y la prioridad de la entrada de audio, se envía el aviso a las salidas de audio.

• Entrada: Introduzca el número de entrada donde se ha conectado la fuente generadora del mensaje.


• Salidas: Introduzca el nombre de la salida o grupo de salidas a donde se enviará el mensaje. Para añadir otras salidas o grupos, pulse la tecla 5 y a continuación el nombre de la salida o grupo que desee añadir (máximo 100 salidas y/o grupos).


En el apartado II. Confi guración / 7.2. puede verse un ejemplo típico de instalación con micrófono con selección de zonas.

3. Aviso Viva Voz

Se defi nen una entrada de audio y unas salidas de audio.

Al activar la entrada de contacto se envía el aviso a las salidas de audio. A diferencia de la confi guración anterior, no es necesario activar la prioridad de la entrada de audio.

• Entrada: Debe introducir, mediante el teclado numérico, el número de entrada donde se ha conectado la fuente generadora del mensaje.


• Salidas: Introduzca el nombre de la salida o grupo de salidas a donde se enviará el mensaje. Para añadir otras salidas o grupos, pulse la tecla 5 y a continuación el nombre de la salida o grupo que desee añadir (máximo 100 salidas y/o grupos).


• Nivel Prior.: Establece el nivel de prioridad, tal y como se hace al confi gurar una entrada de audio.

Existen 64 niveles distintos de prioridad.

Máxima prioridad = 0

Mínima prioridad = 63

Por defecto se establece una prioridad 5.

• Gong: Permite confi gurar el gong (siempre y cuando la entrada de audio pertenezca a una tarjeta UMX-EGC).

- Off: Desactiva el preaviso.

- Tonos: Activa el gong de la tarjeta.

- Personal: Activa el preanuncio personalizado. Este debe ser grabado previamente. La utilización del preanuncio personalizado es incompatible con el uso de las colas y de los mesajes pregrabados en tarjeta (RP1).

Sitúe los indicadores de posición sobre la opción que desee y pulse la tecla 5 para seleccionar.



4. Notifi cación PC

Notifi ca cualquier variación del estado del contacto al ordenador de control.

Para ello, la UMX-02/0 y el PC deben estar conectados mediante el bus RS485.

5. Inc/Dec Volumen

Introduzca el número que corresponda a las salidas o grupos que desee que modifi quen el volumen al cerrar la entrada de contacto. Estas salidas adoptarán el volumen defi nido al confi gurar el incremento/decremento de volumen de las salidas de audio.

Estas confi guraciones no modifi can la confi guración de la entrada de audio.

Este menú permite la confi guración de las tarjetas de salida de contactos UMX-SCT.

Tras seleccionar la opción Salidas Contactos mediante las teclas de navegación, pulse MENU/OK.

Aparece un menú con 11 elementos. Los diez primeros representa a cada una de las 10 posibles tarjetas de contactos que puede contener una UMX-02/0.

2. Grupos

El contacto de salida se activará al seleccionar un grupo determinado. Esta selección se produce, por ejemplo, al activar una entrada de audio que tenga a ese grupo asociado.

Para confi gurar esta opción, seleccione Grupos y pulse MENU/OK.

Introduzca el número del grupo cuya selección activa el contacto de salida.


Pulse la tecla 5 para habilitar esta opción.

En el apartado II. Confi guración / 7.1. muestra un diagrama de bloques típico de esta funcionalidad, como sería la creación de subzonas.

3. Eventos

El contacto de salida se activará en función de la detección de un evento de inicio (Inicio Gong o Inicio Mensaje) en una entrada determinada, y se desactivará en función de un evento fi nal (Final Gong o Final Mensaje).

Para confi gurar los eventos, seleccione eventos y pulse MENU/OK.

• Confi guración de Evento Inicio

Seleccione Evento Inicio y pulse MENU/OK.

- Inhabilitada. No detecta evento alguno.

- Inicio Gong. El contacto se activa al iniciarse el Gong en una entrada predeterminada.

- Inicio Mensaje. El contacto se activa al iniciar el mensaje una entrada predeterminada.

• Confi guración de Evento Final

- Inhabilitada. No detecta evento alguno.

- Final Gong. El contacto se desactiva al fi nalizar el Gong en una entrada predeterminada.

- Final Mensaje. El contacto se desactiva al fi nalizar el mensaje en una entrada predeterminada.

• Confi guración de Entrada

Establece el número de entrada cuyo gong o mensaje actúa de evento de inicio y fi nal.

Una vez confi gurados los eventos de inicio, evento fi nal y entrada, pulse CANCEL para regresar al menú de confi guración del contacto.

Pulse la tecla 5 para habilitar la confi guración de contacto de salida por eventos.

4. Activado por PC

En este caso, el PC de control activa y/o desactiva el contacto de salida.

5. Introduzca los número de salida y / o grupos que componen el nuevo grupo.

Para ello, introduzca mediante el teclado numérico el número del primer elemento que forma el grupo (sea un número de salida u otro grupo) y pulse la tecla 5 . A continuación el segundo elemento y pulse 5 , y así sucesivamente hasta acabar la secuencia de elementos que forman el grupo.

6. Pulse MENU/OK para guardar los datos.

7. Pulse de nuevo MENU/OK para crear otro grupo o CANCEL para salir del menú.

• II. Modifi cación de un grupo

1. Desde el menú Grupos, seleccione la opción Modifi car para cambiar los elementos que forman un grupo ya existente.

2. Pulse MENU/OK.

3. Introduzca el número del grupo que desee modifi car.

4. Pulse MENU/OK.

5. Elimine o añada elementos al grupo.

a. Eliminar elementos del grupo: Utilice las teclas de navegación para mover el cursor hasta el elemento que desee eliminar y pulse la tecla DEL, eliminando los caracteres uno a uno.

b. Añadir elementos al grupo. Utilice las teclas de navegación para mover el cursor hasta la posición del grupo donde desee añadir un elemento y introduzca los datos mediante el teclado numérico.

6. Pulse MENU/OK para guardar los cambios.

7. Pulse de nuevo MENU/OK para modifi car otro grupo o CANCEL para salir del menú.

• III. Eliminación de un grupo

1. Desde el menú Grupos, seleccione la opción Borrar para eliminar un grupo.

2. Pulse MENU/OK.

3. Introduzca un número del grupo que desee eliminar.

4. Pulse MENU/OK.

5. Pulse de nuevo MENU/OK para eliminar el grupo o CANCEL para descartar la eliminación.

• IV. Lista

Esta opción permite visualizar una lista con todos los grupos existentes. Además, permite eliminar o modifi car grupos.

1. Desde el menú Grupos, seleccione la opción Lista.

2. Pulse MENU/OK.

3. Mediante las fl echas de navegación seleccione un número de grupo.

4. Pulse MENU/OK.

5. Seleccione Editar o Borrar.

a. Editar: Permite visualizar los elementos que forman el grupo o modifi car la composición del grupo.

1. Pulse MENU/OK.

2. En pantalla se visualiza la composición del grupo. Para modifi carla, siga el paso nº 5 del apartado II. Confi guración / 3.6.2. Confi guración de Grupos / II. Modifi cación de un grupo.

• II. Bus Compartido

Siempre que varias UMX-02/0 están interconectadas entre ellas a través del conector de expansión del bus de audio, debe confi gurarse este parámetro.

1. Desde el menú Opciones Comunes, seleccione la opción Bus Compartido.

2. Pulse MENU/OK.

3. Mediante el teclado numérico, introduzca la dirección de cada una de las UMX-02/0 que comparten el bus. Pulse 5 para separar cada una de las direcciones de la siguiente.

4. Es necesario introducir también la propia dirección de la UMX-02/0 que se esta confi gurando.

5. Pulse MENU/OK.

• III. Idioma

Permite cambiar el idioma de los menús.

1. Desde el menú Opciones Comunes, seleccione la opción Idioma.

4.2. Visualizar las confi guraciones

1. Mediante las teclas de navegación seleccione una opción y pulse MENU/OK.

2. Utilice las teclas de navegación o la tecla MENU/OK para ir visualizando cada una de las confi guraciones según los diagramas de fl ujo siguientes.

Para la creación de subzonas deben utilizarse tarjetas de contactos de salida (UMX-SCT).

Básicamente, deben crearse tantos grupos como subzonas desee tener, y asociar cada contacto de salida con uno de los grupos creados. En cada entrada deben confi gurarse como salidas asociadas los grupos que correspondan a las subzonas que cada entrada debe seleccionar.

9. Garantía1. CERTIFICADO DE GARANTÍA

1. La empresa OPTIMUS S.A. garantiza que sus productos se encuentran libres de defectos en materiales y de mano de obra en el momento de su entrega original al comprador.

2. La empresa OPTIMUS S.A. concede a sus productos, conforme a las condiciones aquí descritas, una garantía de dos (2) años a partir de la fecha de adquisición del producto por el comprador. Si, dentro de este plazo de garantía, se producen defectos que no sean debidos a razones mencionadas bajo el punto 2, la empresa OPTIMUS S.A. remplazará o reparará el aparato utilizando piezas de recambio equivalentes, nuevas o reconstruidas, según criterio propio. Si se aplican piezas de recambio que constituyen una mejora del aparato, la empresa OPTIMUS S.A. se reserva el derecho de cargar el coste adicional de estos componentes al cliente.

3. No se concederán prestaciones de garantía distintas a las citadas.

4. Para la utilización de los derechos de garantía será requisito indispensable presentar la factura de compra original o el certifi cado de garantía.

2. DISPOSICIONES DE GARANTÍA

1. Si el producto tuviera que ser modifi cado o adaptado para cumplir con los requisitos locales en cuanto a técnica o seguridad, si no se trata del país para el cual el producto fue concebido y fabricado originalmente, ello no se considera como defecto de material o de fabricación. Por lo demás, la garantía no comprende la realización de estas modifi caciones o adaptaciones, independientemente de si éstas hayan sido ejecutadas debidamente o no.

OPTIMUS S.A. tampoco asumirá costes en el marco de la garantía por este tipo de modifi caciones.

2. La garantía no dará derecho a inspección o mantenimiento gratuito o reparación del aparato, particularmente si los defectos son debidos a uso inapropiado. Los derechos de garantía tampoco abarcan defectos en piezas de desgaste que sean debidos a un desgaste normal. Piezas de desgaste son, en particular, potenciómetros, interruptores/teclas, y piezas similares.

3. La garantía no abarca los defectos en el equipo causados por:

● Abuso o uso incorrecto del aparato para fi nes distintos a los previstos, en incumplimiento de las instrucciones de servicio y de mantenimiento especifi cadas en el Manual y/o Instrucciones Técnicas del equipo.

● Conexión o uso del producto de una manera que no corresponda a los requisitos técnicos o de seguridad del país en el cual se utiliza el aparato.

● Instalación en condiciones distintas a los indicados en el Manual y/o Instrucciones Técnicas.

● Defi ciencia o interrupciones tensión eléctrica o defectos de instalación que impliquen uso en condiciones anormales.

● Daños ocasionados por otros equipos interconectados al producto.

● El uso o instalación de Software (programas), interfaces, partes o suministros no proporcionados y/o autorizados por OPTIMUS S.A.

● La no utilización de los embalajes originales para su transporte.

● Daños causados por fuerza mayor u otras causas no imputables a OPTIMUS S.A.

4. No están cubiertos por esta garantía los siguientes elementos:

● Todas las superfi cies de plástico y todas las piezas expuestas al exterior que hayan sido rayadas o dañadas debido al uso normal o anormal.

● Las roturas, golpes, daños por caídas o ralladuras causadas por traslados de cualquier naturaleza.

● Defectos de daños derivados de pruebas, uso, mantenimiento, instalación y ajustes inapropiados, o derivados de cualquier alteración o modifi cación de cualquier tipo no realizada por en Servicio Autorizado por OPTIMUS S.A. en cumplimiento de esta garantía.

● Los daños personales o a la propiedad que pudieran causar el uso indebido del equipo, incluyendo la falta de mantenimiento.

5. La garantía carecerá de validez cuando se observe:

● Enmiendas o tachaduras en los datos del certifi cado de garantía o factura de compra.

● Falta de factura original o falta de fecha en la misma.

● Falta de número de serie o lote en el equipo.

6. En el caso de ordenadores PC, la garantía no cubrirá la eliminación de virus informáticos, restauración de programas por este motivo o la reinstalación del disco provocada por el borrado del mismo.

7. Los derechos de garantía se anulan si el producto ha sido reparado o abierto por un personal no autorizado OPTIMUS S.A. o por el propio

cliente.

8. Si la empresa OPTIMUS S.A. estableciera al comprador del aparato que los daños presentados no dan derecho a la reclamación de la garantía, los costes de las prestaciones de revisión por parte de la empresa OPTIMUS S.A. correrán a cargo del diente.

9. Los productos sin derechos de garantía sólo se repararán contra pago de los gastos por el cliente. En caso de ausencia de derechos de garantía, OPTIMUS S.A. informará al cliente al respecto. Si, en un plazo de 6 semanas a partir de esta comunicación, no recibimos ninguna orden de reparación escrita confi rmando la aceptación de los gastos, OPTIMUS S.A. devolverá el aparato en cuestión al cliente. En este caso, los gastos de transporte y embalaje se facturarán por separado y se cobrarán contra reembolso. En caso de expedición de una orden de reparación, confi rmando la asunción de los gastos, los gastos de transporte y de embalaje se facturarán adicionalmente, igualmente por separado.

10. En caso de necesidad de traslado al Centro de Servicio Autorizado, el transporte será realizado por el responsable de la garantía, y serán a su cargo los gastos de fl ete y seguro.

11. En caso de falla, OPTIMUS S.A. asegura al comprador la reparación y/o reposición de partes para su correcto funcionamiento en un plazo no mayor a 30 días. No obstante, se deja aclarado que el plazo usual no supera los 30 días.

12. Todas las piezas o productos sustituidos al amparo de los servicios en garantía pasarán a ser propiedad de OPTIMUS S.A.

3. TRANSFERENCIA DE LA GARANTÍA

La garantía se concede únicamente para el comprador original (cliente principal) y es intransferible. Con excepción de la empresa OPTIMUS S.A., ningún tercero (comerciantes, etc.) está autorizado a conceder garantía adicionales en nombre de la empresa OPTIMUS S.A.

4. RECLAMACIONES POR DAÑOS Y PERJUICIOS

En caso de que OPTIMUS S.A. no pueda proporcionar un servicio de garantía adecuado, el comprador no tendrá ningún derecho a reclamar indemnización alguna por daños y perjuicios consecuentes. La responsabilidad de la empresa OPTIMUS S.A. se limita en todo caso al precio de facturación del producto

5. RELACIÓN CON OTROS DERECHOS DE GARANTÍA Y CON EL DERECHO NACIONAL

1. Mediante esta garantía no se afecta a los derechos del comprador frente al vendedor deducidos del contrato de compraventa concluido.

2. Las presentes condiciones de garantía de la empresa OPTIMUS S.A. son válidas siempre que no contradigan el derecho nacional correspondiente en relación con las disposiciones de garantía.

3. OPTIMUS S.A. asegura que este producto cumple con las normas de seguridad vigentes en el país.

ESTA DECLARACIÓN DE GARANTÍA LIMITADA ES LA GARANTÍA EXCLUSIVA OFRECIDA POR OPTIMUS S.A. SE EXCLUYE TODA OTRA GARANTÍA EXPLÍCITA O IMPLÍCITA, INCLUIDAS LAS GARANTÍAS DE COMERCIALIDAD Y APTITUD A UN FIN DETERMINADO. (EXCEPTO CUANDO DICHAS GARANTÍAS SEAN REQUERIDAS POR UNA LEY APLICABLE). NINGUNA GARANTÍA, YA SEA EXPLÍCITA O IMPLÍCITA, SE APLICARÁ TRAS LA FINALIZACIÓN DEL PERIODO DE GARANTÍA.

I. DESCRIPTION AND CONNECTION

1. Description

Audio Microprocessor Matrix for public address systems. Designed to be totally modular, it supports the simultaneous control and addressing of 16 audio signals (program and/or priority) to different outputs, covering all the needs of a public address system.

Thanks to its design, installations can be set up which meet the specifi cations of the evacuation standard EN/UNE 60849.

2. Power and control module

2.1. Power supplyTo power the UMX-02/0 a power supply of 24 Vdc is required.

The consumption, without cards, is 285 mA. When the various cards are inserted, the consumption will increase depending on the model and the number of cards inserted.

2.2. Connection of the RS-485 input and output

The UMX-02/0 communicates with the control PC and the various elements of the SMP-250 system (ECM-01, UDCE-01, COU-01, UMX-02/0) through an RS485 bus. For this purpose, it uses the CSMA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access) protocol.

2.2.1. Interconnection of various equipment units (UMX-02/0, DALA01/0B, MD-500EM...)8 pin RJ45 connectors with a metal housing must be used.

2.3. Connection of the ground connection to the chassis

In all public address installations it is very important that there is one single point of connection between the signal ground connection and the mains supply ground contact.

If the public address installation is composed of several equipment units, their chassis will probably be joined, either by means of the ground terminal of the mains connection, or because they are fi tted in a rack cabinet.

If the ground connections are also joined by the signal circuits, it is advisable to remove the jumper between the ground connection and the chassis from all the units except one.

To separate the ground connection from the chassis on the UMX-02/0, remove the panel of the power-control module and extract jumper JP1.

3. Expansion of the UMX-02/0

In the event that the number of cards needed for an installation do not fi t into one UMX-02/0 (more than 10 cards), they can be inserted in several mainframes.

These must be connected by means of the RS485 control bus and the audio bus, which are externally accessible, as shown in fi gure 6.

To connect the RS485 bus, 8-pin RJ45 connectors with a metal housing and CAT 5 STP cable must be used (see section 2.2. Connection of the RS-485 input and output).

To connect the audio bus, 34-pin ribbon cable must be used. When fi tting the cable, particular care must be taken to position the connectors so that the cable can be correctly inserted.

4.2. Navigation, menu access and data entry keys

14. Click on the Program Flash button and start the download. When the download completes the message “Image succefully Written to device” appears in green color.

15. Click on Exit button to close the Flash Development Toolkit Basic application.

16. Disconnect the power supply from the UMX-02/0.

17. Disconnect the download cable.

18. Confi gure the front dipswitch in NORMAL MODE position.

19. Connect the power supply once again.

To test that the fi rmware version is properly updadted, press CANCEL button and the UMX-02/0 LCD display will show the new version.

II. CONFIGURATION

1. General observations

Before using the UMX-02/0, it is essential that it is confi gured.

Its confi guration will depend on the number and type of UMX-02/0 series cards that are inserted in the matrix, in addition to the specifi c characteristics of each installation.

To create or modify any confi guration, fi rst it is necessary to enter the password. Please read the instructions in section II. Confi guration / 5. User Menu.

It is recommended that the confi guration is performed with the various cards positioned in the matrix and the cables connected.

2. Confi guration through a PC

In the case of installations that are confi gured through a PC, follow the instructions in section II. Confi guration / 3.7. Common Options and confi gure the Address parameter of the UMX-02/0. Then follow the SMP-250V2 software confi guration manual.

3.2. Audio Inputs

From this menu the UMX-2E and UMX-EGC input cards can be confi gured.

When the option Audio Inputs is selected from the Confi gurations menu, a list of 20 elements appears. Each of these represents one of the 20 possible inputs (a UMX-02/0 has 10 spaces for a card and each card has 2 inputs).

Address:

This is a number between 1 and 99 which identifi es each of the UMX-02/0 units connected to the RS485 bus. Each number is unique and cannot be repeated on the same installation.

Physical input:

This number identifi es each of the audio inputs according to the position occupied by the input card on the UMX-02/0. Each UMX-02/0 has 10 card spaces, and each card has two inputs, so the inputs are numbered from 01 to 20.

i:

Input. Indicates input.

Logical input:

A number between 1 and 9999, confi gurable by the user, by which this input will be identifi ed on the various menus.

Presence of card indicator:

Card not present or not detected.

• I. Input Number

Also known as Logical Input.

Using the numeric keypad, enter a number between 1 and 9999

This number will be the one that identifi es this input on the various menus.

here cannot be more than one logical input with the same number.

Press the MENU/OK key to save the data.

• II. Label

The information on this label must be completed from the control computer. The text that it contains is merely for information purposes.

• III. Pro / Pri

Program: the signal applied to this input will leave through the audio outputs with which this program input has been associated.

Priority: the signal applied to this input will leave through the associated outputs when the priority contact is activated.

Using the navigation keys, position yourself on Program or Priority and press key 5 to select.

The √ sign indicates the current confi guration.


• IV. Associated Outputs

These are the audio outputs through which the signal applied to this input will leave when the priority contact is activated.

To associate an output, its logical output number must be entered using the numeric keypad.

It is also possible to associate Groups. To do so, the number of the Group that it is wished to associate must be entered using the numeric keypad. The groups must fi rst have been created by means of the Groups menu (see section II. Confi guration / 3.6. Groups).

To add other zones or groups, press key 5 and then the name of the zone or group that it is wished to add (maximum 100 outputs and/or groups associated with an input).

• V. Priority Level

Priority level of each input confi gured as Priority with respect to the others.

There are 64 different priority levels.

Maximum priority = 0

Minimum priority = 63

By default a priority of 5 is established.

• VI. Gong (only for the UMX-EGC card inputs)

This option is used to confi gure the gong for the inputs confi gured as priority.

Off: Deactivates the pre-announcement.

Tones: Activates the gong of the card.

3.2.2. Confi guration of the Audio Inputs

Having selected the option Audio Inputs from the Confi gurations menu, select the input that you wish to confi gure using the navigation keys.

Press MENU/OK.

Select the various options from the menu using the navigation keys. Once an option has been selected, open it using the MENU/OK key. To exit a menu press the CANCEL key.

Personal: Activates the personalized pre-announcement. This must be recorded beforehand. Use of the personalized pre-announcement is incompatible with the use of queues and pre-recorded messages on a card (RP1).


Situate the position indicators on the desired option and press key 5 to select.


• VII. RP1 (only for the UMX-EGC card inputs).

For inputs confi gured as priority, through this option a message can be recorded in the memory of the card for subsequent playback whenever required (activating the priority contact of the audio input).

This option is incompatible with the use of a personalized pre-announcement or a message queue.

Activation / Deactivation of the function RP1:

Select the option RP1 and press MENU/OK.

Select Off (RP1 deactivated) or On (RP1 activated) and press key 5 to confi rm.


N.B.: Options RP1 and Queues are mutually exclusive. When the function RP1 is activated, the Queues function is disabled.

Press MENU/OK to confi rm or CANCEL to reject the change.

Confi guration of the RP1 message:

Select On and press MENU/OK. Three options

appear:

1. Record message:

Connect the audio source with a level of 0 dB to the input of the UMX-EGC card in accordance with fi gure 9

Select Record Message and press MENU/OK.

Press MENU/OK again to begin recording.

Press any key to end the recording.

2. Play message:

Select Play Message and press MENU/OK.

Position the monitor on the channel indicated (using the CHANNEL SELECTOR keys) and press the MENU/OK key.

3. Playback mode:

N.B.: In order to modify and save changes made to the playback mode, the RP1 function must in the On position.

Select Playback Mode and press MENU/OK.

Situate the position indicators on Once (the message will be played back only once when the input priority is activated) or Endless (the message will be played back continuously while the input priority is activated) and press key 5.

Press MENU/OK to save the data.

For inputs confi gured as priority, the use of queues avoids the loss of messages when the outputs to which they are addressed are busy.

The system automatically records all the messages in a temporary memory, and when the outputs are free, the message is played back.

This option is incompatible with the use of a personalized pre-announcement and messages prerecorded on a card (RP1).

Select the option Queues and press MENU/OK.

Select Off (Queue deactivated) or On (Queue activated) and press key 5 to confi rm.

3.3. Audio Outputs

This menu is used to confi gure the UMX-2S output cards.

When the option Audio Outputs is selected from the Confi gurations menu, a list of 20 elements appears. Each of these represents one of the 20 possible outputs (a UMX-02/0 has 10 spaces for a card and each UMX-2S card has 2 outputs).

Address:

This is a number between 1 and 99 which identifi es each of the UMX-02/0 units connected to the RS485 bus. Each number is unique and cannot be repeated on the same installation.

Physical output:

This number identifi es each of the audio outputs according to the position occupied by the UMX-2S card on the UMX-02/0. Each UMX-02/0 has 10 card spaces, and each card has two inputs, so the outputs are numbered from 01 to 20.

o:

Output. Indicates output.

Physical output:

A number between 1 and 9999, confi gurable by the user, by which this output will be identifi ed on the various menus.

• I. Output Number

Also known as Logical Output. Using the numeric keypad, enter a number between 1 and 9999.

This number will be the one that identifi es this output on the various menus.

There cannot be more than one logical output with the same number.


• II. Label

The information on this label must be completed from the control computer. The text that it contains is merely for information purposes.

• III. Volume

Access the volume menu by selecting the option Volume and pressing the MENU/OK key.

1. Program Volume (Program Vol.)

Access the program volume menu by selecting the option Program Vol. and pressing the MENU/OK key.

From this menu the program volume parameters can be confi gured:

• Volume

• Bass

• Treble

• Inc/Dec Volume

Volume:

Select the option Volume and press MENU/OK.

There are a total of 33 volume positions.

0 = Volume off

32= Maximum volume (0dB output).

Modify the volume by means of the navigation keys.

Press the MENU/OK key to save the modifi cation.

Bass:

Select the option Bass and press MENU/OK.

Using the navigation keys, adjust the bass level to ±10 dB.

Press the MENU/OK key to save this adjustment.

Treble:

Select the option Treble and press MENU/OK.

Using the navigation keys, adjust the treble level to ±10 dB.

Press the MENU/OK key to save this adjustment.

Increase/Decrease Volume:

Through this parameter the volume can be increased or decreased when a contact input is activated.

Select the option Inc/Dec Volume and press MENU/OK.

3.3.2. Confi guration of the Audio Outputs

Having selected the option Audio Outputs from the Confi gurations menu, select the output that you wish to confi gure using the navigation keys.

Press MENU/OK.

Select the various options from the menu using the navigation keys. Once an option has been selected, open it using the MENU/OK key. To exit a menu, press the CANCEL key.

Using the navigation keys, adjust the increase (from 1 to 32) or decrease (from –1 to –32) in volume. Bear in mind that the volume values range from 0 (volume off) to 32 (maximum volume).

If this functionality is required, it is necessary to confi gure a contact of the UMX-EC card with the Inc/Dec Volume functionality (see section II. Confi guration / 3.4. Contact Inputs), associating the contact with this output, so that when its activation is detected, the increase or decrease in volume is effected.

2. Priority Volume (Priority Vol.)

From this menu the priority volume parameters can be confi gured: Volume, Bass, Treble and Inc / Dec volume.

Access the priority volume menu by selecting the option Priority Vol. and pressing the MENU/OK key.

The confi guration options are the same as those for the program volume, only in this case they affect the priority volume.

3. AdvancedThrough this option the priority volume parameters of an output (volume, bass and treble) can be confi gured in accordance with the input generating the message. In this way, an output can have different equalizations depending on the audio input used.

To access the menu, select Advanced and press the MENU/OK key.

Four options appear:

• New

• Modify

• Delete

• List

New

This menu is used to create new equalizations. Each equalization belongs to a different input.

1. Select New and press MENU/OK.

2. Enter the number of the input that you wish to equalize and press MENU/OK.

3. Select the parameter that you wish to confi gure and press the MENU/OK key.

4. To modify a value, use the navigation keys.

• Volume: This establishes a volume between 0 and 32.

• Bass: This adjusts the bass level to ±10 dB.

• Treble: This adjusts the treble level to ±10 dB.

• Enabled/Disabled: This activates (enabled) or deactivates (disabled) an equalization.

• Delete: This deletes the equalization.

5. Press MENU/OK to save the data or CANCEL to exit without saving.

Modify

This modifi es the parameters of an equalization created earlier.

1. Select Modify and press MENU/OK.

2. Enter the number of the input that you wish to modify and press MENU/OK.

3. Select the parameter that you wish to modify (Volume, Treble, Bass, Enabled/Disabled, Delete) and press the MENU/OK key.

4. To modify a value, use the navigation keys.

5. Press MENU/OK to save the data or CANCEL to exit without saving.

Delete

This deletes the equalization of a particular input.

1. Select Delete and press MENU/OK.

2. Enter the number of the input whose equalization you wish to delete and press MENU/OK.

This displays all the inputs that have an equalization for this output.

From this menu it is also possible to modify or delete a specifi c equalization.

To do so, select an input from the list, press the MENU/OK key and modify the appropriate parameter (Volume, Treble, Bass, Enabled/Disabled and Delete).

To modify a value, use the navigation keys.

Press MENU/OK to save the data or CANCEL to exit without saving.

• IV. Associated Input

The associated input must be a program input (normally music).

The signal applied to the associated input will be present at the output while the output is on standby (provided that the priority of this output is not activated).

3. Enter the number of the input that you wish to associate (logical input number).

• V. Enabled/Disabled

This enables or disables the output.

Position yourself on the desired option and press key 5 to select.

Once the card has been selected, choose the contact that you wish to confi gure and press MENU/OK once again. Each card has 8 contacts.

2. Input Selection

An audio input and some audio outputs are defi ned.

When the contact input and the priority of the audio input are activated, the message is sent to the audio outputs.

• Input: Enter the input number where the message generating source has been connected.


• Outputs: Enter the name of the output or group of outputs to which the message is to be sent. To add other outputs or groups, press key 5 and then the name of the output or group that you wish to add (maximum 100 outputs and/or groups).


In section II. Confi guration / 7.2. a typical example of an installation with microphone with zone selection is shown.

3. Live Message

An audio input and some audio outputs are defi ned.

When the contact input is activated, the message is sent to the audio outputs. Unlike the previous confi guration, it is not necessary to activate the priority of the audio input.

• Input: The input number where the message generating source has been connected must be entered using the numeric keypad.


• Outputs: Enter the name of the output or group of outputs to which the message is to be sent. To add other outputs or groups, press key 5 and then the name of the output or group that you wish to add (maximum 100 outputs and/or groups).


• Priority Level: The priority level is established in the same way as when an audio input is confi gured.

There are 64 different priority levels.

Maximum priority = 0

Minimum priority = 63

By default a priority of 5 is established.

• Gong: This option is for confi guration of the gong (provided that the audio input belongs to a UMX-EGC card).

- Off: This deactivates the pre-announcement.

- Tones: This activates the gong of the card.

- Personal: This activates the personalized pre-announcement. This must be recorded beforehand. Use of the personalized pre-announcement is incompatible with the use of queues and pre-recorded messages on a card (RP1).

Situate the position indicators on the desired option and press key 5 to select.



These confi gurations do not modify the confi guration of the audio input.

4. PC Notifi cation

Through this function the control computer is notifi ed of any variation in the status of the contact.

For this purpose, the UMX-02/0 and the PC must be connected by means of the RS485 bus.

5. Inc/Dec Volume

Enter the number corresponding to the outputs or groups whose volume it is wished to modify when the contact input is turned off. These outputs will adopt the volume defi ned when confi guring the increase / decrease in volume of the audio outputs.

These confi gurations do not modify the confi guration of the audio input.

2. Groups

The contact output will be activated when a particular group is selected. This selection occurs, for example, when an audio input associated with that group is activated.

To confi gure this option, select Groups and press MENU/OK.

Enter the number of the group whose selection activates the contact output.


Press key 5 to enable this option.

Section II. Confi guration / 7.1. shows a block diagram typical of this functionality, such as information on the creation of subzones.

3. Events

The contact output will be activated in accordance with the detection of an event start (Gong Start or Message Start) at a particular input, and it will be deactivated in accordance with an end event (Gong End or Message End ).

To confi gure the events, select events and press MENU/OK.

• Confi guration of Event Start

Select Event Start and press MENU/OK.

- Disabled. No event is detected.

- Gong Start. The contact is activated when the Gong is started at a pre-established input.

- Message Start. The contact is activated when the message is started at a pre-established input.

• Confi guration of End Event

- Disabled. No event is detected.

- Gong End. The contact is deactivated when the Gong ends at a pre-established input.

- Message End. The contact is deactivated when the message ends at a pre-established input.

• Confi guration of Input

This establishes the input number whose gong or message acts as a start and end event.

Once the start events, end event and input are confi gured, press CANCEL to return to the contact confi guration menu.

Press key 5 to enable the contact output confi guration by events.

4. Activated by PC

In this case the control PC activates and/or deactivates the contact output.

Select Activated by PC and press key 5.

3.6. Groups

This menu is used to create, edit or delete groups.

The system supports the creation of 250 different groups.

A group can be formed by other groups.

Each group can contain 50 different elements (zones or groups).

3.6.1. Structure of the Groups menu

1. Select the option Groups from the Confi gurations menu.

2. Press MENU/OK.

3. Select one of the options:

• I. Creation of a new group

1. Select the option New to create new groups.

2. Press MENU/OK.

3. Enter a number (between 1 and 250) for the new group.This number, preceded by the digit 0, will identify this group on the various menus.

5. Enter the number of the output and/or the groups that make up the new group.

To do this, use the numeric keypad to enter the number of the fi rst element that forms the group (an output number or that of another group) and press key 5. Then enter the second element and press 5 , and so on until completing the sequence of elements that make up the group.

6. Press MENU/OK to save the data.

7. Press MENU/OK once again to create another group or CANCEL to exit the menu.

• II. Modifi cation of a group

1. Select the option Modify from the Groups menu in order to change the elements that form a group which already exists.

2. Press MENU/OK.

3. Enter the number of the group that you wish to modify.

4. Press MENU/OK.

5. Delete or add elements to the group.

a. To delete elements from the group: Use the navigation keys to move the cursor to the element that you wish to delete and press the DEL key, deleting the characters one by one.

b. To add elements to the group: Use the navigation keys to move the cursor to the position of the group where you wish to add an element and enter the data using the numeric keypad.

6. Press MENU/OK to save the changes.

7. Press MENU/OK once again to modify another group or CANCEL to exit the menu.

• III. Deletion of a group

1. Select the option Delete from the Groups menu in order to delete a group.

2. Press MENU/OK.

3. Enter the number of the group that you wish to delete.

4. Press MENU/OK.

5. Press MENU/OK again to delete the group or CANCEL to reject the deletion.

• IV. List

Through this option a list with all the existing groups can be viewed. Furthermore, groups can be deleted or modifi ed.

1. Select the option List from the Groups menu.

2. Press MENU/OK.

3. Using the navigation arrows, select a group number.

4. Press MENU/OK.

5. Select Edit or Delete.

a. Edit: The elements that form the group can be viewed or the composition of the group can be modifi ed.

1. Press MENU/OK.

2. The composition of the group is displayed on the screen. To modify it, follow step no. 5 of section II. Confi guration / 3.6.2. Confi guration of groups / II. Modifi cation of a group.

3. Press MENU/OK.

b. Delete: This deletes the selected group.

1. Press MENU/OK.

2. Press MENU/OK once again to delete the group or CANCEL to reject the deletion.

Every unit connected to a RS485 bus must have a unique address which distinguishes it from the other units connected to the same bus. This menu is used to confi gure the address of the UMX-02/0. The default address is 1.

3. Use the numeric keypad to enter a number between 1 and 99.

• II. Shared Bus

If several UMX-02/0 units are interconnected by means of the expansion connector of the audio bus, this parameter must be confi gured.

1. Select the option Shared Bus from the Common Options menu.

2. Press MENU/OK.

3. Using the numeric keypad, enter the address of each of the UMX-02/0 units that share the bus. Press 5 to separate each address from the next one.

4. It is also necessary to enter the address of the UMX-02/0 which is being confi gured.

5. Press MENU/OK.

• III. Language

This enables the user to change the language of the menus.

1. Select the option Language from the Common Options menu.

2. Press MENU/OK.

3. Using the navigation keys, select a language and press 5 .


• IV. Password

Use this option to change the password. The system supports values from 1 to 9999.

The default password is 1234.

Through this option users can enter the password in order to modify the confi gurations.

1. GUARANTEE CERTIFICATE

1. OPTIMUS S.A. guarantees that its products are free from material and manufacturing defects when they are fi rst delivered to the purchaser.

2. In accordance with the conditions outlined here, OPTIMUS S.A. guarantees its products for two (2) years from the date on which the purchaser acquires the product. If, within this guarantee period, defects appear which are not due to factors outlined in section 2, OPTIMUS S.A. shall replace or repair the unit using equivalent, new or reconstructed replacement parts, as it deems fi t. If replacement parts are applied which improve the unit, OPTIMUS S.A. reserves the right to charge the client for the additional cost of these components.

3. No guarantee benefi ts shall be provided other than those cited here.

4. In order to claim the guarantee rights, it shall be an essential requirement to present the original purchase invoice or the guarantee certifi cate.

2. GUARANTEE PROVISIONS

1. In the event that the product had to be modifi ed or adapted to comply with local requirements concerning technical specifi cations or safety, and if the country in question is not the country for which the product was originally designed and manufactured, defects are not considered to be material or manufacturing defects. Furthermore, the guarantee does not cover the execution of these modifi cations or adaptations, regardless of whether or not they have been carried out correctly.

Nor shall OPTIMUS S.A. be responsible for any costs under this guarantee for these types of modifi cations.

2. The guarantee shall not entitle the purchaser to inspection or free maintenance or repair of the unit, particularly if the defects are due to inappropriate use. Nor do the guarantee rights cover defects in wearing parts that become worn as a result of normal wear and tear. Wearing parts are, in particular, potentiometers, switches/keys, and similar parts.

3. The guarantee does not cover defects in the equipment unit caused by:

• Abuse or incorrect use of the unit for purposes other than those for which it is intended, in non-compliance with the service and maintenance instructions specifi ed in the Manual and/or Technical Instructions for the unit.

• Connection or use of the product in a manner that does not correspond to the technical or safety requirements of the country in which the unit is used.

• Installation in conditions other than those indicated in the Manual and/or

Technical Instructions.

• Defi ciency or interruptions in the electricity supply or installation defects which imply use in abnormal conditions.

• Damage caused by other equipment units that are connected to the product.

• The use or installation of Software (programmes), interfaces, parts or supplies not provided and/or not authorised by OPTIMUS S.A.

• Failure to use the original packaging for transportation.

• Damage caused by force majeure or other causes not attributable to OPTIMUS S.A.

4. The following elements are not covered by this guarantee:

• All plastic surfaces and all parts exposed to outdoor conditions which have been scratched or damaged as a result of normal or abnormal use.

• Breakages, knocks, damage due to a fall or scratches caused by moving the unit in any way.

• Damage caused by tests, use, maintenance, installation or inappropriate adjustments, or as a result of any alteration or modifi cation of any kind not carried out by a Service Authorised by OPTIMUS S.A. in compliance with this guarantee.

• Damage to persons or property that might be caused by the improper use of the equipment, including lack of maintenance.

5. The guarantee shall not be valid whenever the following is observed:

• Amendments or corrections made to the details of the guarantee certifi cate or purchase invoice.

• Failure to produce the original invoice or the absence of a date on this.

• Absence of the serial or batch number on the equipment.

6. In the case of personal computers, the guarantee will not cover the

elimination of computer viruses, the restoration of programmes damaged by these or the reinstallation of the disk following its deletion.

7. The rights of this guarantee are invalidated if the product has been repaired or opened by staff unauthorised by OPTIMUS S.A. or by the client himself.

8. If OPTIMUS S.A. were to establish before the client that the damage affecting the unit does not entitle a claim to be made under the guarantee, the costs of checking the equipment incurred by OPTIMUS S.A. shall be borne by the client.

9. Products not covered by the guarantee shall only be repaired once payment has been effected by the client. In the event that the guarantee rights do not apply, OPTIMUS S.A. shall duly inform the client. If, within a period of 6 weeks from this communication, no written repair order is received from the client confi rming acceptance of the costs, OPTIMUS S.A. shall return the unit in question to the client. In this case, the transport and packaging costs shall be invoiced separately and payment shall be made on delivery. In the event that a repair order is sent by the client, confi rming that he assumes the costs of repair, the transport and packaging costs shall be invoiced additionally, and also separately.

10. If the equipment needs to be transferred to the Authorised Service Centre, transportation shall be effected by the responsible party according to the guarantee, who will also bear the freight and insurance costs.

11. In the event of a defect, OPTIMUS S.A. guarantees that the repair and/or replacement of parts so that the unit operates correctly will be made within a period of no more than 30 days. Nevertheless, OPTIMUS S.A. would like to clarify that the normal period does not exceed 30 days.

12. All parts or products replaced as part of the guarantee services shall become the property of OPTIMUS S.A.

3. TRANSFER OF GUARANTEE

The guarantee is solely awarded to the original purchaser (principal client) and is not transferable. With the exception of OPTIMUS S.A., no third party (dealers, etc.) is authorised to award additional guarantees on behalf of OPTIMUS S.A

4. CLAIMS FOR DAMAGE

In the event that OPTIMUS S.A. cannot provide a suitable guarantee service, the purchaser shall not be entitled to claim any indemnity for damages arising. The responsibility held by OPTIMUS S.A. is limited in all cases to the invoicing price of the product.

5. RELATION WITH OTHER GUARANTEE RIGHTS AND NATIONAL LAW

1. This guarantee does not affect the rights of the purchaser with respect to the vendor arising from the contract of sale accomplished.

2. These conditions of the guarantee provided by OPTIMUS S.A. are valid as long as they do not contradict the corresponding national law on guarantee provisions.

3. OPTIMUS S.A. guarantees that this product complies with the safety regulations in force in the country.

THIS LIMITED GUARANTEE DECLARATION IS THE EXCLUSIVE GUARANTEE OFFERED BY OPTIMUS S.A. ALL OTHER EXPLICIT OR IMPLICIT GUARANTEES ARE EXCLUDED, AND THIS ALSO APPLIES TO GUARANTEES OF MARKETABILITY AND SUITABILITY FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. (EXCEPT WHEN THESE GUARANTEES ARE REQUIRED BY AN APPLICABLE LAW). NO GUARANTEE, EITHER EXPLICIT OR IMPLICIT, SHALL BE APPLIED ONCE THE GUARANTEE PERIOD HAS EXPIRED.
