I took the train here from Adelaide because Iwanted to see as much of this huge country as possible. It was a really long journey and alittle boring, to be honest.There isn’t really that much to see – just desert and a few plants here and there! I didn’t evensee any animals. Most of them only come out when it starts to get dark, so they probably wereasleep. I guess it’s too hot for them in the sun.

When I got here, I met the group of students I’m camping with. We have a fantastic local guidewho knows so much about the history and geography of this place. The weather is reallyextreme. It’s very hot during the day and freezing at night! No one can remember the last timethere was heavy rain here, so you can imagine how careful everyone is with water.

First of all, the school day is too long. It would be better if we had shorter days. We could start at 10:00 a.m.and finish at 3:00 p.m. There would be fewer classes. In addition, there wouldn’t be so much homework, sowe could actually have some time for ourselves during the week. We could sleep in, too. As everyone knows,teenagers don’t get enough sleep!
