Our Mission— Nuestra Mision

We, the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi, guided by the Holy Spirit, are a Christian Community called by God to take part in the mission of love and truth in the world. With firm faith in Jesus the Christ and the Holy Gospel, we

find our strength through prayer and the Sacraments, that we may become God’s servants to our sisters and

brothers.

hermanos.

Dear Parishioners, Peace and blessing! On Wednesday, October 23 our Capuchin Fr. Sylvester Catallo was called to eternal life. His funeral was celebrated at St. Lawrence in Beacon. For those of you who remember him during his many years here at St. Francis (1967-1973), remember a friar full of life and love. Oh, how he loved to sing. May his soul now rest in peace. Fr. Sylvester was 90 years old. This week the Church universal invites us to pray for voca ons. I ask each of you to please say one Hail Mary daily for voca ons. The priesthood and religious life are a vital part of the Church. Also, don’t be fearful of encouraging someone, a child, grandchild, friend to think about this incredible way of life. In our Gospel today, because of the hospitali-ty the tax collector extends to Jesus and his conver-sion of heart, Zacchaeus is raised up by Jesus as a model of salva on. Have a wonderful week! In His Peace, Fr.

Mass intentions – effective January 1, 2020

January 1st we will put into practice WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS the directives given

to us by both Canon Law and Cardinal To-bin.

Each weekend one Mass will be offered for the people of the parish (pro populo Mass). No Mass stipend can be accepted for this

Mass. Each Mass, weekend and weekday will have ONE intention with one stipend. In accord

with decree of the Congregation for the Clergy of 1991 a priest cannot gather together several

different intentions for which an individual offering has been made and satisfy them with a single Mass. Henceforth there will be only one intention per Mass with no exceptions.

FOOD PANTRY We are making every effort to prepare baskets for Thanksgiving

for the families in need of our parish. We are in need of the following: Turkeys, Rice, canned milk, tea, coffee, cereal, jelly

& peanut butter, sugar, flour, pasta, tomato sauce, oil, and cookies only. You can bring them with you to Mass and leave them with the ushers or at the rectory. We want to thank all those who have helped us in the past to feed those less fortu-nate. NO CAN GOODS . NO PERISHABLE ITEMS. May God bless

you for sharing.
