will come to know St. Maria Goretti as we all hope it to be and are continuing to strive in our efforts to
make it—this is our Spiritual Home and a Loving Community. We are glad you are here and look forward
to meeting you! God Bless you. —Father Dudzinski

DO YOU WANT TO DEEPEN
YOUR RELATIONSHIP
WITH JESUS CHRIST AND HIS CHURCH?
Uniting in Heart desires to help everyone know Je-
sus Christ and to foster a deeper personal commit-
ment to follow Him in His Church. As the Body of
Christ in the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana, Unit-
ing in Heart seeks to equip us to proclaim the Gos-
pel in all that we do for the salvation of souls
through the three pillars of Mission, Community,
and Witness.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO
“UNITE IN THE HEART OF JESUS?”
We named our pastoral plan Uniting in Heart be-
cause to unite in heart means to continuously enter
into the heart of Jesus where love and mercy in its
purest form can be found and experienced. It is
God’s grace that draws us into the heart of love. In
that heart, we learn to love God and our neighbor
as ourselves. This is where we learn to become self-
less, meek, and humble of heart—like Jesus. Here,
we are invited to suffer with and for Christ. Where
sacrificing our own self, our own wills for the will of
the Father, like our Jesus, is necessary to experi-
ence true transformation of our lives. Here, we find
not only love, but peace and joy as well.
Notice the actions of Jesus were never about
himself or his personal desires but rather about the
will of the one who sent him. Jesus, always moved
by the love of His Father lived a life of charity. He
touched and healed people at their core, at the very
heart of their being. They then went forth and
shared that saving love for the life of the world.
BEHOLD, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW. —REV 2:5

BAPTISM PREP CLASS—NAME CHANGEJesus instituted the sacrament of Bap-tism at the Jordan River with John. At SMG, new parents (or those who have not been in the last five years) are re-quired to attend a Baptism preparation class, now known as Pre-Jordan Class, prior to scheduling your child’s Baptism. Classes meet the third Saturday of each month, 10am, in the Parish Office Conference Room. The next session is Saturday, June 19. Questions? Call Gordon & Mary Ann Smith, 317-439-8105.
CALLING ALL MOMS!Join the Holy Family Ministry for a new monthly event, Moms Morning Out. The last Saturday of each month, we invite all moms of the Parish Family to come and
enjoy Mass together (kid free) followed by a social gathering focused on faith and fellowship. Our first gathering takes place Saturday, June 26. We begin with 8am Mass, immediately followed by coffee and fellowship at Field Brewing in Westfield. If you have questions, contact Lisa Linder, 260-348-7118 or la_linder@yahoo.com

ADORATION: CRITICAL HOURExperience a refreshing sense of peace each time you are “still” in the Real Presence of Jesus in Eu-charistic Adoration. The Monday, 7pm hour, is a critical hour as no one is currently scheduled.
ADORATION: ADDITIONAL HOURSPrior to the great COVID shutdown of 2020, as a parish we were moving toward perpetual Adoration. As such, we are looking to add an hour before and an hour after—the 5am and midnight hours—our current schedule.
If you are interested in filling the critical hour, one of the new hours, or any hour that fits your schedule, contact Jeff Brown, 317-417-1540.
SMG’s SPIRITUALLY ADOPTED BABY
JUDE MATTHEW’S JOURNEY TO BIRTH
Please continue to pray for Jude Matthew and your spiritually adopted baby!
Jude Matthew now resembles a teeny tadpole
and is about the size of an orange seed. His circu-
latory system, along with the heart, is the first
part of him to be functional. Another part of
Jude Matthew that is under God’s construction
is the neural tube, which will eventually become
his brain and spinal cord.

ATTENTION 5TH GRADE PARENTS!
Eleven-year-olds entering 6th grade in Indiana are
required to receive the meningitis vaccine and an up-
dated tetanus/pertussis vaccine known as “Tdap.”
The “tetanus booster” cannot be received until after
the 10th or 11th birthday (depending upon the drug
manufacturer). This vaccine has dramatically low-
ered the number of pertussis cases in middle and
high school students in Indiana. The meningitis
vaccine has reduced incidents of this serious dis-
ease in our adolescent and young adult group.
Make sure all vaccines are received be-
fore entering 6th grade. Questions? Send
an email to nurse@smgonline.org.

Family Promise Outreach Ministry Prayer Team
BECOME A PRAYER WARRIOR!
The Family Promise Outreach Ministry
extends its parish participation
by establishing a Prayer Team.
Once a quarter, our parish will host a homeless fami-
ly for seven straight evenings. Typically, our guests
will arrive 5:30-6pm at our campus, transported by
one of our Family Promise volunteer drivers.
We’d like to have enough Prayer Team members to
have MULTIPLE volunteers committed to lifting
up TWO groups of people each night—our guests
and our St. Maria Goretti Family Promise volun-
teer serving team. The Prayer Team will have the
first names of every homeless family guest AND eve-
ry parishioner volunteer serving that evening. You
would be asked to pray that God's blessings be
showered upon these souls sometime during THAT
evening. You would ONLY be asked to pray on
ONE evening, not all seven days. And you don’t
need to be on campus to participate! You can pray
from home or a hotel during a business trip. You
can pray as an individual, couple, or family.
If you have questions or feel
the nudge of the Holy Spirit
to become a member
of the Family Promise Prayer
Team,
send an email to Scott Harris,
familypromise@
smgonline.org.
