In 1895 Ignaz Schwinn and partners foundedthe Arnold, Schwinn & Company . In 1916Schwinn sold its one-millionth bicycle and by1968 Schwinn produced one-million bikesannually. In the 1920s one of every sevenbike sold in the county was a Schwinn built

bicycle. By the 1950s the Schwinn name wason one of every four bicycles sold. In the1970s Schwinn had achieved pop culturestatues and to this day the Schwinn name isthe single most recognized bike brand in thecountry.
