FROM OUR PASTOR

Thank You For Your Support and Generosity!

Thank you to so many of you who have continued with your weekly offerings! May God bless your generosity, brothers and sisters. We will continue to pray and serve together. Know that you are all in my pray-ers. God bless you always!

And it happened that while they were con-versing and debating, Jesus himself drew near and walked with them, but their eyes were prevented from recognizing him. In all the resurrection accounts, no one is looking for the risen Jesus. They all think death has had the final word. It is Jesus who comes to show them how wrong they are. And so with us in these times: the power of disease and death is all we hear about, and we may wonder where is God in the midst of it all. God is where He’s always been: walking by our side, speaking to us through scripture, the sacraments, and all of crea-tion. During this time of social distancing, look to where Jesus is walking at your side, not distant at all: in the love of family, in the beauty of nature, in God’s word and the grace God pours into each soul.

Let us keep praying for all those most in need, for medical personnel

and those fulfilling essential services, and those affected hardest by

the economic crisis. Jesus is among us, and we ask that He help us

also experience our hearts on fire as He spoke to us on the road. God

bless you always!

Did you know? United Together in Prayer. We ask you, as the People of God, to unite in a special prayer for victims of child sexual abuse today, Sun-day, April 26. Holy Spirit, comforter of hearts, heal your people’s wounds and transform brokenness into wholeness. Grant us the courage and wisdom, humility and grace, to act with justice. Breathe wisdom into our prayers and labors. Grant that all harmed by abuse may find peace and justice. We ask this through Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

In honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month during April, we are reminded daily that the healing journey for child sexual abuse victim-survivors, and their families, is a long and arduous one. Each of us, as members of our Catholic community, can contribute to their healing by re-membering all those impacted by childhood sexual abuse in our pray-ers.

Mass Intentions can be scheduled through the parish office. Please call the parish office 805/688-4815 or email us at office@missionsanta ines.org for more information.

You have made known to me the paths of life;

you will fill me with joy in your presence.

Despite closures and cancelations, our parish expenses continue!

I know these are hard economic times for everyone. With the suspension of Masses, we do not have our regular income from our Sunday collection, so I am asking everyone to help as you can by sending in donations or dropping them off through the new mailbox slot in the parish office. We are also working on online giving. I ask the Lord to help us all work to-gether so we can get through the cur-rent crisis situation with faith and charity. God bless you always!

HOY

LECTURAS DE HOY

Hechos 2:14, 22-33 1 Pedro 1:17-21 Juan 24:13-35

NOTICIAS

Continuaremos oran-do y sirviendo juntos. Sepan que están todos en mis oraciones. Dios los cuide siempre! Fray Roberto

CHARITY If you truly want to

help the soul of your neigh-bor, you should approach

God first with all your heart. Ask him simply to fill you with charity, the greatest of all virtues; with it you can

accomplish what you desire. —St. Vincent Ferrer
