In Surat Alli Imran (3:8), Allah gives us a beautiful dua’a as a reminder:
ربنا ل تزغ قلوبنا بعد إذ هديتنا وهب لا من نت
نك رحة إنك أ ل
اب الوه
"Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Be-stower.” This verse is mentioned to have been revealed about a group of people who will succeed in the day of judgment. In terms of specific ac-tions, Allah describes these people as the ones who will earn permanent salvation over the reward of the dunya. Allah explains, “For those who fear Allah will be gar-dens in the presence of their Lord beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and puri-fied spouses and approval from Allah . And Allah is Seeing of [His] servants -” What is it that these peo-ple do? “They are the pa-tient, the true, the obedi-ent, those who spend [in the way of Allah ], and those who seek for-giveness before dawn. (3:17)”
Buraidah (RA) reported: The Prophet (S) said,
"Convey glad tidings to those who walk to the mosque in the dark-
ness. For they will be given full light on the Day of
Resurrection.''

Announcements
Jazakum Allahu Khair to everyone who contributed with your time, money, and effort in helping the masjid and the rest
of the beloved community. May Allah magnify your deeds in this life and the next.
May Allah reward everyone who turned out and organized the janaza. May Allah forgive us all and guide us in this life
and the next.
Please donate generously. Every dollar you spend for the sake of Allah is an investment in the Hereafter. Your dona-
tions go to help pay monthly rent, utilities, and support programming in the mosque.
Please remember our less fortunate brothers and sisters in your dua’a and good deeds.
Ramadan is only a month away!
Character of the Believer
Assalamu Alaikum Brothers and Sisters,
With Ramadan around the corner, we should be taking the
time to reflect and prepare ourselves for a month of intensive
worship. Apart from preparing for the strain of fasting and a
chaotic schedule, we should strive to perfect our character in
this month and take those lessons forward into our lives.
Abu Huraira reports , that the Messenger of Allah (S) said,
The best of you in Islam are those with the best character, if
they have religious understanding. (Ahmad)
The Prophet (S) states, “Shall I not tell you what distin-
guishes the best of you from the worst of you? The best of you
are those from whom goodness is expected and people are safe
from their evil. The worst of you are those from whom good-
ness is not expected and people are not safe from their
evil.“ (Tirmidhi)
These are lessons that have been repeated our entire lives ,
and we must constantly be reminded of. Specifically, guarding
our tongues and making sure to not only not commit sins with
our words, but to make our deeds positive and beneficial.
Another hadith states, “The Muslim is the one from whose
tongue and hand the people are safe, and the believer is the
one people trust with their lives and wealth.”
We should beware of lying, speaking behind the backs of
other people, and wasting speech. Rather we can use our
tongues to greet our brothers and sisters with kindness. We can
speak words to remind each other of Allah’s mercy. Speech can
be used to kindle love and kindness between us, families,
friends, and even strangers. This is the sunnah of the Prophet as
he spoke words that were simple and profound.
The best people are those who are best at applying the com-
prehensive ethical virtues taught by Islam: justice, compassion,
kindness, piety, devotion, humility, truthfulness, and so on.
They treat others how they would like to be treated, they regu-
larly give charity, they care for their families, they refrain from
harming others, and they earn people’s trust. They are devoted
to the Quran and to seeking religious knowledge to apply in
their lives, forsaking the vanities of the worldly life for the Here-
after.
Asma bint Yazid reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace
and blessings be upon him, said: Shall I tell you about the best
of you?
They said, “Of course, O Messenger of Allah.”
The Prophet said: The best of you are those who, when they
are seen, inspire others to remember Allah Almighty.
