hablando del Heavy Metal.

No sé ustedes, pero la única vez que encontré una revista así, ésta era

importada, por lo tanto muy cara.

Lovetrick, es una propuesta de vanguardia, exclusiva del metal, y en este primer número, espero que realmente pueda satisfacer sus necesidades como lectores y amantes

A line of twisted teddy bears created by Applehead Factory in 2003. The bears are supposed to represent old teddy bears that have been abandoned by their owners and become warped and rotted over time. There are two series of bears, as well as a set of miniature versions called “morgue minis”. There is an animated short produced by Dave School and also a series of graphic novels published by Ape Entertainment that depict the “after lives” of the bears.

Morgue Minis

The Morgue Minis are miniature versions of the bears. Each bear comes in a vinyl body bag with a coroner’s report on the back of the package. There are two series of minis, including special editions that were available for a limited time. Each Mourge Mini is 6

inches tall.

Animation

In June 2006, a team of animation students at Dave School produced a 3D animation that features the Teddy Scares characters (of the first series of bears). Some of the characters were voiced by well-known horror movie icons, such as Clive Barker providing Edwin Morose’s voice and Rita Mortis

being played by Linda Blair. The short can be viewed on the school’s website, as well as the official site for the toys and currently on Youtube.

Plot

Mocked and ignored by the other teddy bears, Cyrus decides to make a friend of his own, which turns out to be a random piece of trash from the bears’ junkyard home. When he starts playing with his latest “friend,” a toaster he names Toasty, the other bears grow annoyed and plan on getting rid of the toaster. After tricking Cyrus into thinking they want to be Toasty’s friend as well, the bears try to destroy the toaster behind his back, but find it to be quite indestructible, so they seal Toasty behind a brick wall instead.

However, to everyone’s dismay, Cyrus has

completely forgotten about Toasty and replaced him with a plastic spoon

(Spoony) as his newest friend.

Graphic novelThe first volume of the Teddy Scares comic book series was released in April 2007 on Friday the 13th. There are currently three volumes that are published by an independent publisher

Series One

- Rita Mortis: A highly unruly and - troubled delinquent who had been sent to prison several times. However, her parents paid no attention to her behavior, believing it to be a phase she would grow out of. When she died, there was no love lost at her funeral, and even her parents couldn’t help but spit on her grave. Rita has white fur with a lock of black hair and dark red eyes. She wears red plaid jumpers and black boots, and sports wristbands, facial piercings (two around her eye and three on each ear), and a tattoo

on her left arm. She comes equipped with a plastic baseball bat.

Series Two- Mazey Podge:A rag doll teddy bear with a poorly placed pair of eyes and a ribbon tying up a patch of pink hair. She is dressed in a black lace-up brassiere and a black frilled skirt with mismatched dress shoes. Mazey was created by a seamtress who made the bear from bits of extra fabric. The seamtress intended for Mazey to be “the most beautiful bear”. However, the woman was so frightened by the horrible results that she died from shock. Despite this, Podge believes that she did become a beautiful bear. The bear’s accessory is a broken hand mirror.

Bio. (1st Part)November 1990:

Impaled Nazarene formed. The first line-up is Mika Luttinen-vocals, Kimmo Luttinen-drums, Mika Pääkkö-guitar, Ari Holappa-guitar and Antti Pihkala-bass. The band starts rehearsing their own material, first ever I.N. song written is Condemned To Hell. The band also starts playing The Crucified & Morbid Fate, both old Mutilation tracks (Previous band of Luttinen

bros.)

February 1991: Impaled Nazarene records their first rehearsal demo tape Shemhamforash. Sound is downright horrible due to the fact it was recorded with a two-track deck. Antti Pihkala is replaced with

Harri Halonen on bass.

April 1991: First show, opening for Beherit in Kempele,

Finland. Summer 1991:

Impaled Nazarene plays their 2nd show w/ Sentenced. The band enters TicoTico studio in Kemi in August to record their first official studio demo tape Taog Eht Fo Htao Eht and starts to gain name in the underground circles. Impaled Nazarene takes part in Day Of Darkness festival in Oulu together

with Amorphis, Belial etc. October 1991:

The band records their infamous Goat Perversion 7” ep for the Italian

company.

Winter ‘91-Spring ‘92: Both Holappa & Halonen leave the band due to lack of interest. Impaled Nazarene performs a couple of live shows in Finland as a three piece unit. Lots of controversy results because of their live show. The band signs with blood to french

label Osmose Productions.

Summer ‘92: Impaled Nazarene asks Taneli Jarva to join the band as a session bassist. Pääkkö leaves the band and Jarno Anttila is asked to join in as a session guitarist for the impending recording of

their debut album.

October ‘92: Recording of Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz

debut cd and Sadogoat 7” ep take place at Tico Tico studio. Anttila & Jarva are asked to join as full time members and both accept this. Impaled Nazarene performs in Kuopio, Finland, first time

with the new line-up.

Winter ‘92-Spring ‘93: Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz comes out and goes straight to number 40 in national finnish charts. At the time this was just unheard of. Impaled

Nazarene writes new material.

July ‘93: The band enters Tico Tico studio to record their 2nd album Ugra-Karma and Satanic Masowhore

7” ep.

December ‘93: Both the cd and ep come out and the response

in just getting better.

January ‘94: The band do their first European tour together

with Ancient Rites.

July ‘94: Impaled Nazarene records at Tico Tico their 3rd cd Suomi Finland Perkele. Originally titled Hail To Finland, the band decides to change the

name in a last minute.

December ‘94: Suomi Finland Perkele comes out and gets mixed results from the fans and the press. Due to the lyrics of the song Total War-Winter War, a youth communist movement in Paris, France complains to the FNAC chainstore and demands that the cd’s are withdrawn from the shops. FNAC meets their demands but fuck-ups big time: They mix the codes and Ugra-Karma is withdrawn instead of Suomi Finland Perkele.

April ‘95:

Second European tour with Absu & Sadistik Exekution.

August ‘95:

The band enters Tico Tico once again, to record mini cd titled Hamnasnas. It never gets recorded as Jarva & K. Luttinen end up in fight during the first night. The band packs their stuff and fucks off back home. Reima Kellokoski replaces K. Luttinen as drummer and the band decides to

go back to their brutal roots.

October ‘95: Impaled Nazarene tours Europe third time,with Krabathor & Ministry Of Terror. The band also headlines a Halloween fest in London’s Astoria,

UK.

February ‘96: The band enters Tico Tico studio to record Latex Cult cd and Motörpenis mini-cd. Taneli Jarva leaves the band immediately after the recordings and is replaced by Jani Lehtosaari

March ‘96:

Impaled Nazarene do two videos in London, resulting to 1999:Karmegeddon Warriors sell-

thru video.

Los inicios

Windir fue un grupo noruego de la localidad de Sogndal de estilo black metal folclórico. La banda tocó durante diez años, del 1994 al 2004, y está disuelta actualmente por la muerte de su cantante y fundador, Valfar. Su nombre significa

“guerrero”, traducido al castellano.

Su estilo está claramente marcado por tintes del folclore de la zona de Sogndal y muchas de sus letras están cantadas en Sognamaol, dialecto local derivado del noruego. El grupo obtuvo éxito, siendo bastante conocido en la escena

black metal de Noruega.

En sus inicios, Windir, era el proyecto de un único músico, Valfar, nacido en la localidad noruega de Sogndal. Valfar, había tocado en varias bandas de black metal y death metal, pero no encontró interesantes dichos proyectos y decidió fundar su banda para aportar su original visión musical:

Windir.

Valfar comenzó grabando las primeras demos “Sognariket” y “Det gamle riket” que dieron a conocer a Windir durante los años 95-96 a la escena underground del metal noruego. Estas demos llegaron a los oídos del sello Head not found/Voices of wonder que decidió apostar la banda. Este primer disco fue “Soknardalr” (1997) grabado en Oslo y tocado íntegramente por Valfar, excepto las baterías que fueron tocadas por Steingrim. El disco muestra unas composiciones brillantes mezclando el black metal puro con toques de épicos flokloricos,

sello de identidad del grupo.

El desarrollo del grupo

Recién publicado el primer CD, Valfar se pone manos a la obra con el segundo, “Arntor” (1999). Para esta ocasión, Windir contaría con varios músicos de estudio para su grabación, no sólo Valfar y Steingrim. Dicha grabación sería en los famosos estudios Grieghallen de Bergen donde han grabado las más importantes bandas de

black metal noruego.

Este disco contiene mucho más folclore que las anteriores publicaciones, en las letras, prácticamente enfocadas a la cultura de la zona de Sogndal, tanto de su entorno como de mitos más generales noruegos y con toques épicos y

folclóricos en las composiciones musicales de los temas. Su siguiente publicación sería “1184” (2001), un gran salto para Windir, pues es aquí donde finalmente se presentan como banda y no sólo como un proyecto de una o dos personas. Es cuando Hvàll y miembros del ex-grupo de este

último Ulcus se unen a Windir.

Final trágico

El último album del grupo sería “Likferd” (2003) donde se continuó con la línea marcada por 1184. fue grabado en octubre del 2003 en los estudios Abyss Studio. El grupo estaba en pleno apogeo, girando con mucho éxito tanto en Noruega como en Estados Unidos. Lamentablemente, el líder y fundador del grupo Valfar fallece en enero del 2004 por causa de una hipotermia en los montes de Sognal. Al parecer el cantante tuvo un accidente y no pudo escapar

del frío, muriendo congelado.

Sus compañeros rindieron tributo a su amigo y respetado músico, con un doble CD de recopilación llamado “Valfar, ein Windir” (2004), realmente difícil de conseguir. Además de conciertos en su memoria, finalmente publicaron un DVD llamado “Sognametal” (2005). Actualmente, han formado el grupo Vreid para

continuar con la idea de Valfar. Los títulos de sus discos y muchas de sus canciones tratan interesantes temas de la historia y cultura noruegas, tanto mitológicos como hechos constatados de la historia del país.
