Recorrido de 18 hoyos que ha contribuido a la fama creciente de su arquitecto Ramón Espinosa. Es una joya depositada en un amplio valle entre montes a 6 km. del mar mediterráneo, sus sutiles dificultades lo hacen mas delicado de lo que a primera vista parece, sin por ello desalentar a los jugadores de nivel medio. Los bunkers de calle y de green están inteligentemente situados y bien visibles e indican la táctica de juego que hay que adoptar. Con un arbolado compuesto principalmente de pinos, algarrobos y olivos, algunos árboles aislados obligan a pegar la bola con efecto y hay obstáculos de agua – lagos y canales – en línea de juego en siete hoyos, completando una panoplia de dificultados muy variadas. Los greens, que están preparados para que rueden a la velocidad del Circuito Profesional Americano –recordemos que es el campo de origen de Sergio García, añaden un componente de alta calidad al juego pues son de lectura tan delicada como el toque con que hay que jugarlos. Inteligente y franco, es un recorrido para todo el mundo y se puede aconsejar tanto por su armonía como por su cuidadoso mantenimiento: apto para disfrutar de una óptima jornada. Muchas han sido las competiciones que se han disputado en nuestras instalaciones pero destacaríamos: Campeonato de España de profesionales, Campeonato de España de Júnior, Campeonato de España de Senior, Sede de la escuela de clasificación de la P.G.A., Open de España de Senior, Open de España de Damas, 4 Tours aeropuerto de Castellón, el exitoso y reconocido internacionalmente, Castelló Masters, así como todos los campeonatos posibles a nivel autonómico. Cuenta con: campo prácticas, putting green, driving range, zona de approach y tienda de Golf A 18 holes layout that has done much to enhance the growing reputation of architect Ramón Espinosa. It is a gem of a course located in a wide valley among mountains 6 km. away from the Mediterranean sea, and the subtly placed hazards make it tougher than you might think at first sight, although not to the point of scaring off the lesser players. The fairway and green-side bunkers are cleverly located and visible enough to help your game tactics. The course is sorrounded by a avriety of trees like olive trees, pine trees and carob trees. A few isolated trees call for elaborate shots, moving the ball both ways, and small ponds are in play on seven holes, thus completing a highly varied panoply of hazards. The greens, prepared at US Tour speeds (this is the home course of Sergio Garcia) are high-quality putting surfaces which are tough to read and require an excellent touch. An intelligent and honest course, this is a golfing arena for everyone. Being well-balanced and well-cared for, it is a course well worth recommeding for spending a great day out. This course has hosted several national and international tournaments, at both amateur and professional levels. Qualifying Tournaments for the PGA Tour have also been played here. Since December 2003, the 4 Tours tournament is played here, with the 32 best Spanish players from the European Tour, Senior Tour, Challenge Tour and Peugeot Tour, and the successful and well-known Castello Masters. It has got driving range, putting green, approach zone and pro shop.

Hoyo 1, “Sergio García”: Par 4 de 350 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Hoyo relativamente fácil, con algunos algarrobos a los lados de la calle, dos bunkers a izquierda y derecha, a la altura del drive, y dog-leg hacia la izquierda. Green amplio con dos plataformas y bunker al fondo, sin grandes caídas.

Hole 1, “Sergio García”: 350 meters, par 4, from the Championship tees. Relatively easy hole, dogleg left, with some carob trees on both sides of fairway, two bunkers, one on the left and one on the right side of driver’s distance. It has a wide open green with a bunker on the back and with two platforms not too difficult.

Hoyo 2, “Los patos”: Par 3 de 207 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Hoyo ligeramente hacia abajo con un amplio lago que se mete hacia la parte izquierda del green y bunker hacia la derecha del mismo, teniendo una entrada amplia y un green sin excesivas caídas.

Hole 2 “Los patos”: 207 meters, par 3, from the championship tees. Slightly down hill with water on the left side that gets closer to the back left side of the green. This green has an open entry except for the bunker on the front right and very flat.

Hoyo 3: Par 4 de 418 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Tiene un ligero dog-leg a la derecha, el drive debe apoyarse hacia el centro-izquierdo de la calle por la dificultad de un lago que bordea toda la parte derecha, castigando el slice, y que no es visible desde el tee. Hay dos bunkers en el fairway. El segundo golpe no presenta ninguna dificultad por ser un green totalmente abierto a excepción de una ría que cruza la calle unos 20 metros antes del green y un pequeño bunker en la derecha.

Hole 3: 418 meters, par 4, from the championship tees. Dogleg right; the driver must be played on the center-left side of the fairway due to the water on the right side, not visible from the tee and punishing the slice. A stream of water crosses this fairway at about twenty yards short of the green. The second shot is not difficult because the green is wide open except for the bunker on the right side.

Hoyo 4, “La Mare de Deu”: Par 5 de 569 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Es un hoyo sin ningún problema en su trazado de gran longitud, tiene un lago a la derecha castigando el slice muy pronunciado. El segundo golpe se debe apoyar un poco a la izquierda por un gran algarrobo llamado de "La Mare de Deu" que hay hacia la parte derecha de la calle y que impide poder llegar al green con facilidad. El green es alargado, tiene tres plataformas bastante pronunciadas y está defendido por dos bunkers muy amplios a izquierda y derecha.

Hole 4, “La Mare de Deu”: 569 meters, par 5, from championship tees. A hole with no difficulties on its layout but long. With a lake on the right side punishing a big slice. The second shoot must be played on the left side due to the big carob tree called "La Mare de Deu" on the center-right side of the fairway that makes harder the third shot to the green. A long green with three pronounced tears and defended by two bunkers on the right and left side.

Hoyo 5: Par 4 de 407 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Tiene un dog-leg muy suave hacia la izquierda. El drive debe ser hacia la parte derecha de la calle por estar protegida esta parte por un bunker y grandes algarrobos. El segundo golpe debe ser muy preciso ya que el green está defendido por dos bunkers frontales y la inclinación del mismo es bastante pronunciada.

Hole 5: 407 meters, par 4, from championship tees. A hole with a slight dogleg left. The driver must be played to the right side of the fairway due to the bunker and the carob trees on the left. Second shot must be precise because the green is protected by two big bunkers on the second and it slopes to the left.

Hoyo 6: Par 3 de 183 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Un bonito hoyo que tiene una entrada bastante estrecha, protegida por bunkers frontales y laterales, muy castigado el hook por haber un muro de piedra a la izquierda del green que dificulta terriblemente el segundo golpe. Sobrevolar el green puede ser asimismo peligroso.

Hole 6: 183 meters, par 3, from championship tees. A beautiful hole with a narrow entry to the green and protected by front and lateral bunkers. A shot with a strong hook is penalized by a stonewall on to the left side that makes recovery very hard. A ball played over the green can be also dangerous.

Hoyo 7: Par 4 de 314 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Por tener un algarrobo en la zona derecha de la calle el drive deberá estar un poco apoyado hacia la izquierda. Este hoyo es uno de los más cortos como par 4. La entrada en el green está protegida por un nuevo lago frontal que dificulta el golpe de aproximación si se quiere golpear hacia la zona corta del green. El Green es amplio pero con una pendiente considerable.

Hole 7: 314 meters, par 4, from championship tees. Due to the big carob tree on the right side of the fairway, the driver must be played left of the tree. This is one of the shortest par 4 on the course. The entrance of this green is well protected by a new small lake which makes harder the second shot if the pin is short. The green is wide but with a considerable slope.

Hoyo 8: Par 5 de 502 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Tiene una calle estrecha, con dificultades a izquierda y derecha por el numeroso arbolado propio de la zona que presenta, y fuera de límites a la izquierda castigando un hook excesivo. El segundo golpe se debe apoyar un poco a la izquierda. El green es alargado, amplio y está protegido por dos bunkers, uno frontal y otro al fondo un poco a la izquierda.

Hole 8: 502 meters, par 5, from the championship tees. This one has a narrow fairway with trees of the area on both sides of the fairway and “out of bounds” on the left. The second shot must be played slightly to the left side. The green is long, wide and protected by two bunkers, a difficult one on the front and one on the left-back side of the green.

Hoyo 9: Par 4 de 389 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Este hoyo tiene su parte izquierda castigada con el fuera de límites, una calle amplia con dos bunkers a la derecha y uno a la izquierda de la calle a caída del drive y en el centro de la calle un precioso algarrobo que dificulta el segundo golpe si el driver no es potente. El green está muy bien defendido por un bunker frontal y otro en la parte derecha con un pequeño muro en la derecha que castigaría un golpe abierto. Este hoyo sitúa al jugador a las proximidades del Club para iniciar la segunda vuelta.

Hole 9: 389 meters, par 4, from the championship tees. This hole has “out of bounds” running along the left side, a wide fairway with a bunker right and left and a beautiful carob tree on the middle. This tree makes the second shot a much harder blow if the driver is not powerful enough to clear it. The green is well protected by a bunker on the front-left and on the right side, next to a stonewall that punishes the big slice. This hole places the player in the proximity of the Clubhouse to begin the back nine.

Hoyo 10: Par 4 de 333 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Es un precioso hoyo con toda la parte izquierda y fondo del green fuera de límites. El drive debe ser apoyado ligeramente a la izquierda, sin exceso, con dos bunkers a este lado. En el segundo golpe, el green está protegido a la derecha con un profundo bunker, por lo que deberá apoyarse a la parte izquierda. Como se decía anteriormente pasarse del green es peligroso por la proximidad a fuera de límites. El green tiene una importante caída descendente hacia la derecha y es posiblemente el green más difícil del recorrido si se coloca la bola pasada la bandera.

Hole 10: 333 meters, par 4, from the championship tees. A beautiful hole with “out of bounds” on the left side and back of the green. The driver must be placed slightly on the left side due to the inclination to the right of the fairway but carefully because of the two bunkers on the left side. The green is protected on the right by a deep bunker, so the second shot should be played left of it. The green is uphill and to the right, probably the hardest green of the course if the second shot is played long.

Hoyo 11: Par 4 de 308 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Con un muy suave dog-leg hacia la derecha, el driver se debe apoyar un poco a la derecha, tiene algarrobos a la izquierda y a la derecha. Este hoyo es corto con posibilidad de llegar a las proximidades del green, con un potente drive, pero la calle se acaba unos 50 metros antes del green. La entrada en el mismo no es difícil por ser el approach muy corto, aunque tiene un bunker en la parte izquierda que se mete hacia el centro y otro al fondo muy bien situados. El green tiene dos plataformas con un poco de pendiente.

Hole 11: 308 meters, par 4, from the championship tees. A hole with a slight dogleg right. The driver should be played on the center-right side of a fairway filled with carob trees left and right. This is a short hole with the possibility to place the ball near the green in one shot, but the fairway ends 50 meters before the green. The shot to the green is not too hard because it should be a short one, but it has two well-placed bunkers on the shot-left and over. The green has two tears with tricky breaks.

Hoyo 12: Par 3 de 202 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Este hoyo tiene defendida la parte izquierda del green con algarrobos y un pequeño muro de piedra. El fondo es arriesgado por la proximidad del fuera de límites. En la parte derecha hay dos bunkers que defienden el green.

Hole 12: 202 meters, par 3, from the championship tees. This hole has a well-protected left side with carob trees and a small stonewall. The back of the green is risky due to the proximity of an “out of bounds”. On the right side, two bunkers guard the green.

Hoyo 13: Par 5 de 547 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Antiguamente era el hoyo mas largo del recorrido, tiene un dog-leg hacia la izquierda. En la caída del drive tiene fuera de límites por la izquierda castigando el hook con un bunker a cada lado del fairway, debiendo situar el driver por el centro hacia la izquierda entre los dos bunkers. El segundo golpe se debe apoyar un poco hacia la parte derecha del green por la dificultad del rough, de olivos y algarrobos de la parte izquierda. Tiene un green muy amplio defendido por dos bunkers frontales para el golpe de approach sin demasiada caída.

Hole 13: 547 meters, par 5, from the championship tees. This hole used to be the longest of the course, with a dog-leg left. It has “out of bounds” on the left side and a bunker on the right side and back left. The second shot must be played to the right side of the fairway due to the olive and carob trees and the strong difficulty of the rough of the left. It has a wide easy green protected by two front bunkers.

Hoyo 14: Par 4 de 334 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Ligero dog-leg hacia la izquierda, el driver siempre se deberá apoyar hacia la derecha por la peligrosidad de un lago a la izquierda y una ría que cruza la calle a unos 240m. Tiene un green muy amplio y alargado, protegido por un bunker frontal y otro a la parte izquierda.

Hole 14: 334 meters, par 4, from the championship tees. Dogleg left, the driver should be placed on the right side due to the danger of a lake and a ditch on the left side of the fairway. Also, powerful players must be careful due to the crossing of a stream of water at about 240 meters from the tee. It has a wide green protected by two bunkers, one on the front and one on the left.

Hoyo 15: Par 4 de 381 metros de tee de campeonato. Es un dog-leg hacia la derecha cuesta arriba, con fuera de límites pegado a la calle por el mismo lado, castigando el slice. El drive se debe apoyar un poco hacia la izquierda. A la caída del drive tiene bunkers a ambos lados. El green es muy amplio, con dos plataformas y mucha caída. Es el hoyo más difícil del campo por la gran dificultad que entraña cada uno de los golpes a realizar.

Hole 15: 381 meters, par 4, from the of championship tees. An uphill hole with a dogleg right and “out of bounds” very close to the fairway on the right side, punishing a slice. The driver must be placed on the center left but not too long. There is a bunker on the left side and another one on the right, with trees that could block good drives played to the right side. The green is very wide with two tears and powerful breaks. This is considered the toughest hole on the course due to the great difficulty in each shot played.

Hoyo 16: Par 3 de 176 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Un hoyo muy espectacular con un lago en la parte izquierda y que rodea la parte frontal del green. El fondo del green es también muy peligroso ya que cuenta con un bunker y una pendiente pronunciada de rough espeso. Este hoyo es considerado el “hoyo mas emblemático” del campo.

Hole 16: 176 meters, par 3, from the championship tees. A very spectacular hole with a lake to the left side that covers the whole front of the green. Also the back of the green is very dangerous due to the bunker, the rough and the unevenness of the terrain. This could be called the signature hole of the course.

Hoyo 17: Par 5 de 494 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Dog-leg hacia la derecha con un principio del fairway muy ancho que se empieza a complicar a la caída del driver para los más pegadores, pues a la izquierda hay un lago y a la derecha dos bunkers y bastantes olivos. El segundo golpe se da en dirección a la bandera y es posible que pueda ser el único par cinco en el que se puede llegar de dos golpes, pero hay que meter la bola directamente en el green, ya que tiene una entrada muy estrecha con dos bunkers que terminan hacia el centro y otro en el fondo del green. La izquierda de green es fuera de límites. Hole 17: 494 meters, par 5, from the championship tees. Dogleg right with a wide fairway, for the first shot, that gets more complicated to the powerful players due to a lake on the left and two bunkers and lots of olive trees on the right. The second shot is played in the flag’s direction and this could be the only par 5 reachable in two, but to do so, the shot must be played straight to the green due to the narrow entrance with two bunkers guarding the front right and left of the green and one on the back. The left side of the green is “out of bounds”.

Hoyo 18 “Club de Campo del Mediterráneo”: Par 4 de 388 metros desde el tee de campeonato. Dog-leg pronunciado hacia la izquierda, el driver se debe apoyar a la derecha, aunque está bien protegido por un bunker. La parte izquierda tiene un gran número de olivos y algarrobos que dificultan el segundo golpe. Tiene un green muy amplio defendido por dos bunkers a la derecha, uno de los cuales representa las iniciales del club. El green se encuentra junto al Chalet Social

Hole 18 “Club de Campo del Mediterráneo”: 388 meters, par 4, from the championship tees. Pronounced dogleg left, the driver must be placed to the right due to the great number of olive, carob and poplar trees that make the second shot much difficult, but the right side is also protected by a bunker. This hole has a wide green defended by two bunkers, from which the front one represents the initials of the course. This green is right next to the Clubhouse.

REGLAS LOCALES 1- OBSTRUCCIONES EN BUNKERS:

Las piedras en los bunkers se consideraran obstrucciones movibles, siendo de aplicación la Regla 24-1 de la R.F.E.G.

2-PROTECCION DE ÁRBOLES JOVENES:

Los árboles jóvenes (en crecimiento), con altura inferior o igual a un DRIVER, se considerarán obstrucciones inamovibles, siendo de aplicación la regla 24-2 de la R.F.E.G.

3-OBSTRUCCIONES INAMOVIBLES: De las que se puede tomar alivio sin penalidad, siendo de aplicación la Regla 24-2:

Los muros de piedra situados alrededor del green de los hoyos 8, 10 y 12, pintados con rayas azules.

La caseta de piedra situada en la calle del hoyo 1 y los lavabos situados entre los hoyos 13-17, y 5-8.

Los caminos con superficie pavimentada o asfaltada. Los laterales de los tees de piedra. Las estacas de medición de 100 y 150 metros, así como las “setas” en el

centro de la calle. TODOS LOS RESTANTES MUROS DEL CAMPO SON PARTE INTEGRANTE

DEL CAMPO, no siendo permitido el alivio sin penalidad de los mismos.

4-ZONA DE DROPAJE EN EL HOYO 16 En el hoyo 16, existe una zona de dropaje “opcional” para la bola que este

en el obstáculo de agua, marcada en el suelo con línea blanca y las letras Z.D. Recordar que si una bola es dropada en una zona de dropaje, la bola no debe ser re-dropada si queda en reposo a menos de dos palos del punto donde tocó por primera vez una parte del campo, aunque quede mas cerca del hoyo o fuera de los limites de la Z. D.

5- HORARIO SALIDA:

Si el jugador llega a su punto de salida, preparado para jugar, dentro de los cinco minutos posteriores a su hora de salida, en ausencia de circunstancias que justifiquen la suspensión de la penalidad de descalificación bajo la regla 33-7, la penalidad por no empezar a jugar a la hora, es de dos golpes. La penalidad por llegar después de estos cinco minutos es la de descalificación.

6-USO DE MEDIDORES DE DISTANCIA El uso de medidores de distancia láser o G.P.S queda autorizado en los torneos sociales a excepción de aquellos torneos con reglamento propio en el que se estipule lo contrario. Del mismo modo el uso de los medidores quedará limitado únicamente al portador, sin poder prestarse a los compañeros de partida.

PENALIDAD POR INFRACCION DE ESTAS REGLAS LOCALES DOS GOLPES.

LOCAL RULES 1-OBSTRUCTIONS IN BUNKERS: Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions (rule 24-1 applies). 2-PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES:

Young trees, (one driver lenght,or less) , are immovable obstructions, (rule 24-2

applies)…

3- IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: RULE 24-2 APPLIES:

Stone walls around greens 8, 10, and 12, with blue marks.

Stone house by the fairway hole 1 and toilets placed on the course.

Artificially surfaced paths.

Sides of the tees (stone).

Distance stakes (red, yellow and blue) and distance makers on the ground.

The rest of the walls in the course are part integral of the course, not relief allowed

under rule 24-2.

4- DROPPING ZONE HOLE 16:

There is an “optional” dropping zone in the hole 16, for balls inside the water hazard,

marked with white line and “z.d.” inside. Remember: if the ball is dropped in a dropping

zone, the ball shall not be re-dropped if it comes to rest within two-clubs lenght of the

spot where it first struck a part of the course, even thought it may come to rest nearer

the hole or outside the boundaries of the dropping zone.

5-TIME OF STARTING:

If the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his

starting time in the absence of circumstances wich warrant waiving the penalty of

disqualification as provided in rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is two

strokes . Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES TWO STROKES.
