Our students don't require a swimming pool to beat the heat, though it is nice to haveone!Our Student Life staff had plenty of creative ideas on howto keep the students cool duringthe hot weather. Not surprisingly, ourstudents had some brilliant ideas to help out thestaff with how to beat the heat. A goodold fashion water balloon battle was one of themany fun activities we did to staycool. Some departments enjoyed the coastal breeze inSanta Cruz and SanFrancisco while others enjoyed water rides at the park. There wasagroup that actually did get to splash in a swimming pool!

Getting wet is all wedid?Getting wet is all wedid? Nope! We also had a family-style gathering everyMonday. High School feasted students with a Mexican theme.Middle School grilled good-oleAmerican hamburgers and fries. Elementarydared to be different going with an Italiantheme. It was a great timegetting together under one roof outside!

Boom, boom, boom - the MiddleSchoolers went at Boomers!Boom, boom, boom - the MiddleSchoolers went at Boomers! Not too early toearn their drivers’ license!(Yikes! Maybe too early.) They had a mellow night watching anopencaptioned movie at AMC theaters. Another night they went bowling at CloverleafBowling. (Not sure if anyone scored a perfect 300, but askthem!)

School’s out, what t ime is it?Summer time! School’s out, what t ime is it?Summer time! The high schoolers enjoyed theBoardwalk rides and beachwalks in Santa Cruz. They wandered around buddy systemstyle at Pier39. On their last night, they went wild at Great America.

They feltlike wildanimals in The Jungle at the indoor jungle-like climbing structures in SanJose.They had all you can arcade and all you can eat at John’s Incredible Pizza.And theybehaved like a pros on the green atGolfland.

Besidesstudyingafter school, we also had a bunch fun on campus, as well. We learnednewgames every day. We also played 9 squares - a traditional kickball game mingling withthe High School and Middle School students.

Durante el verano, las águilas no dejaban de funcionar. Los estudiantes locales vinierona los gimnasios abiertos de verano durante dos horas diarias durante los díaslaborables.
