The new route beginning at The Watercourt at California Plaza, will take walkers past such landmarks as Disney Hall and the Central Library during the two mile walk. Organizers have a goal of raising more than $500,000 to support research and programs of the Alzheimer’s Association. For more information or registration, go online at alzla.org/mw.

Wild at Heart Progressive Marathon/5K Set a fitness goal for yourself! Get started by attending the Wild at Heart Progressive Marathon/5K Walk at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Saturday, November 3.

Memory Walk Moves To Downtown Nov. 4

For the first time in 15 years, Memory Walk is “on the move” to Downtown LA. The 2007 Alzheimer’s Association California Southland Chapter’s 15th Annual Memory Walk will be staged Sunday, November 4 with registration beginning at 7am.

The new route beginning at The Watercourt at California Plaza, will take walkers past such landmarks as Disney Hall and the Central Library during the two mile walk. Organizers have a goal of raising more than $500,000 to support research and programs of the Alzheimer’s Association. For more information or registration, go online at alzla.org/mw.

Wild at Heart Progressive Marathon/5K Set a fitness goal for yourself! Get started by attending the Wild at Heart Progressive Marathon/5K Walk at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Saturday, November 3.

Choose to participate in the 5K walk on the event day or to do the full progressive marathon and raise pledge dollars for each marathon mile. Pledges will assist a number of important charities committed to women’s heart health.

All participants receive a T-shirt. The Wild Heart Expo, free to the public, will round out the event day offering heart education information from the American Heart Association.

Metro.net/mobile O=ers Key Info, Fast Downloads For Hand-Held Devices Riders with hand-held electronic devices can now get useful travel information at their fingertips by logging on to a smaller, simpler version of metro.net – metro.net/mobile.

The site provides Metro’s Trip Planner, fare information, maps of the Metro System and other rider information tailored to the electronic devices small screens and slower internet access.

The new site will function on a variety of web-enabled devices, approximately 90% of current hand-held devices and all but the most basic machines.

To accommodate the devices’ small screens and limited controls, the new site quickly leads visitors to information.

Metro Speakers Bureau offers free presentations to civic groups and organizations on a variety of transportation topics.

Metro has launched a new feature designed for riders who carry hand-held electronic devices that can access the Internet.
