Daniel Alcides Carrin He was born in Cerro de Pasco, Peru, in

August 13 (thirteen)in 1857 (eighteen

fiftyseven). Son of a Ecuadorian lawyer and

doctor, At the age of 14 (fourteen), he went

to Lima to continue his studies. When he

finish high school, he entered in theMedicine Faculty in Universidad Mayor de

San Marcos in 1878 (eighteen seventy eight)

to study in the medicine area.After in

making some clinic observations during four

years, about the Peruvian wart and collectall the possible data about the disease.

Carrion wanted to know with more in detail

about the first disease phases and its real

nature. Experimenting its body through the

blood inoculation of the infected patient.

Carrion wanted to do the inoculation to

himself, using the wart secretion of a 14

(fourteen) years old patient:. After 3

weeks of studying the disease, he

showed that the Oroya fiber and the

peruvian wart were two stages of the

same disease.Daniel Alcides carrion, inhis agony of death, he was transfered to

the Maison de Sante hospital, in

October 4. He died the next day, in

october 5 in 1885 (eighteen eighfive),after fourty days of inoculation
