Saint Faustina Kowalska St. Faustina was born Helena Kowalska on Au-gust 25, 1905 to a poor but devout Polish family. At the age of 20, with very little education, and having been rejected from several other convents because of her poverty and lack of education, Helen entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy. There, she took the name Sr. Faustina and spent time in con-vents in both Poland and Lithuania. Throughout her life, Jesus appeared to Sr. Faustina. He asked her to become an apostle and secretary of his mercy, by writing down his messages of Divine Mercy for the world in her diary. Jesus also asked St. Faustina to have an image painted of his Divine Mercy, with red and white rays issuing from his heart, and to spread devotion to the Divine Mercy novena.

Santa Faustina Kowalska A los 15 años, Faustina empezó a tener inquie-tudes por la vida religiosa. Sus padres se opusieron a su deseo de consagrar su vida a Dios, lo que la desanimó por un tiempo, hasta que, mientras rezaba, sintió que Jesús le pedía dejarlo todo e ir a Varsovia (Polonia) para ingresar al convento. Faustina ingresó en la congregación de las Her-manas de Nuestra Señora de la Misericordia, y desde 1931, recibió una serie de mensajes de Jesús sobre la devoción a la Divina Misericordia, y que luego escribió en un diario de más de 600 páginas para revelarlos a un mundo necesitado del amor de Dios.

Catechesis on prayer - 27. To pray in communion with Mary
Dear brothers and sisters, good morning!
Today the catechesis is dedicated to prayer in communion with Mary. It occurs precisely on the Vigil of the Solemnity of the Annunciation. We know that the main pathway of Christian prayer is the humanity of Jesus. In fact, the confidence typical of Christian prayer would be meaningless if the Word had not become incarnate, giving us in the Spirit his filial relationship with the Father. We heard in the Scripture of the gathering of the disciples, the pious women and Mary, praying after Jesus’s Ascension. The first Christian community was awaiting Jesus’s gift, Jesus’s promise.
Christ is the Mediator. Christ is the bridge that we cross to turn to the Father (see Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2674). He is the only Redeemer: there are no co-redeemers with Christ. He is the only one. He is the Mediator par excellence. He is the Mediator. Each prayer we raise to God is through Christ, with Christ and in Christ and it is fulfilled thanks to his intercession. The Holy Spirit extends Christ’s mediation through every time and every place: there is no other name by which we can be saved: Jesus Christ, the only Mediator between God and humanity (see Acts 4:12).

Catequesis 27. Rezar en comunión con María
Queridos hermanos y hermanas, ¡buenos días!
Hoy la catequesis está dedicada a la oración en comunión con María, y tiene lugar precisamente en la vigilia de la solemnidad de la Anunciación. Sabemos que el camino principal de la oración cristiana es la humanidad de Jesús. De hecho, la confianza típica de la oración cristiana no tendría significado si el Verbo no se hubiera encarnado, donándonos en el Espíritu su relación filial con el Padre. Hemos escuchado, en la lectura, de esa reunión de los discípulos, a las mujeres pías y María, rezando, después de la Ascensión de Jesús: es la primera comunidad cristiana que espera el don de Jesús, la promesa de Jesús.
Cristo es el Mediador, el puente que atravesamos para dirigirnos al Padre (cf. Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica, 2674). Es el único Redentor: no hay co-redentores con Cristo. Es el Mediador por excelencia, es el Mediador. Cada oración que elevamos a Dios es por Cristo, con Cristo y en Cristo y se realiza gracias a su intercesión. El Espíritu Santo extiende la mediación de Cristo a todo tiempo y todo lugar: no hay otro nombre en el que podamos ser salvados (cf. Hch 4,12). Jesucristo: el único Mediador entre Dios y los hombres.

Dear Parishioners, Cristòs anèsti! - Alethòs anèsti! Jesus Christ is risen! He is truly risen! This week is marked by the joy of celebrating the devotion of Jesus of Divine Mercy. We unite ourselves with all those who, like us, celebrate the mercy of God the Father through his Son Jesus Christ. Already in the middle of spring, we hope that we will go back to the daily routine of life with a new pulse and energy. This weekend the pilgrim images are visiting new families, making the parish community present in their hearts. Let us thank God that he visits us where we live and blesses us with his constant and loving presence. We entrust these families receiving these images and ask the Holy Spirit to encourage and accompany them. We also want to thank all the support of each one of you, from the volunteers to those who visit us sporadically, for making it possible that with your presence the Lord has visited us and shown his love and mercy during our Holy Week festivities. Queridos feligreses, Cristòs anèsti! – Alethòs anèsti! ¡Jesucristo ha resucitado! ¡Verdaderamente ha resucitado! Esta semana está marcada por la alegría de celebrar la devoción de Jesús de la Divina Misericordia. Nos unimos a todos aquellos que como nosotros festejamos la misericordia de Dios Padre a través de su Hijo Jesucristo. Ya en plena primavera, esperamos que vayamos retomando lo cotidiano de la vida con nuevo pulso y energía. En este fin de semana las imágenes peregrinas están visitando nuevas familias, haciendo presente a la comunidad parroquial en el corazón de ellas. Demos gracias a Dios porque nos visita en donde vivimos y nos bendice con su presencia constante y amorosa. Encomendemos a estas familias que reciben las imágenes y pidámosle al Espíritu Santo que las anime y acompañe. Queremos agradecer también todo el apoyo de cada uno de ustedes, desde los voluntarios hasta aquellos que nos visitan esporádicamente, por hacer posible que con la presencia de ustedes el Señor nos haya visitado y mostrado su amor y misericordia durante nuestras festividades de Semana Santa.
