EL JESÚS DE SAN MARCOS El Evangelio según San Marcos es el más corto y terso de los cuatro. Los discursos de Jesús tienden a ser concisos también. El retrato de Jesús que nos da Marcos no tiene nada de la poesía del Sermón del Monte o del Sermón de la Llanura como en Mateo ni Lucas, ni la extensión y reflexión de los “Yo Soy” los discursos en Juan. El Jesús de Marcos “va al grano”, diríamos hoy. Esto se refleja muy bien en el pasaje de hoy. No es una casualidad que el diálogo de Jesús en este momento en el Evangelio según San Marcos, las palabras finales sobre el fin del mundo, inmediatamente antes de su pasión, esté plagado de signos de exclamación y una sensación general de urgencia. Haríamos bien en remodelar nuestra manera de vivir este Adviento, ya que vivimos en un mundo con necesidad urgente de escuchar el mensaje que Jesús proclamó. MARK’S JESUS Mark’s Gospel is the shortest and tersest of all four. The discourses of Jesus tend to be terser as well. Mark’s portrayal of Jesus has none of the poetry of the Sermon on the Mount or the Sermon on the Plain as in Matthew or Luke, nor the extensive, reflective “I Am” discourses as in John. Mark’s Jesus “cuts to the chase,” we would say today. This is reflected quite well in today’s passage. It is no accident that the dialogue of Jesus at this point in the Gospel according to Mark—the concluding words about the end of the world—immediately before his passion, is riddled with exclamation points and an overall sense of urgency. We would do well to re-tool our own way of living this Advent, for we live in a world urgently in need of hearing the message of Jesus proclaimed. Preparándonos para el Adviento Ya empieza la temporada de Adviento cual nos prepara para conmemorar el

nacimiento de nuestro Salvador; lo nos ayudara en la preparación.

Nuevos Misales

Se les pide utilizar los nuevos misales al llegar a la Iglesia:

repasen las oraciones junto con las lecturas del día. Esto les ayudara en

la participación de la Misa.

Participación en la Eucaristía ¡La Sagrada Eucaristía es de

verdad un intercambio con nuestro Padre! Por eso se nos urge

participar en la misa en los cantos y respuestas que les toca al Pueblo.

Queremos entonces, cantar y orar de manera especial, este Adviento.

Silencio en la Iglesia/ en la Misa Se nos pide a todos ayudar a crear un ambiente de respeto y oración

desde el momento que llegamos al Templo hasta que nos retiremos. El Adviento, como la Cuaresma, es un

tiempo muy especial para dedicarnos a la oración. Durante esta

temporada, tendremos un momento de silencio después de la Comunión

para darnos tiempo para meditar sobre lo que acabamos de celebrar y en

particular, a quien hemos recibido.

Ministerio Para Confinados en Casa El sábado, 2 de diciembre durante la misa de 5pm, los ministros para los

Confinados en casa serán presentados a la Parroquia y recibirán su bendición.

Los Responsables de Alimentos

Se les pide a las personas quienes tiene su certificado de cocina, reportarse a la oficina pastoral.

Sociedad de Socios Oblatos

Los Socios Oblatos de la Parroquia piden nuestro apoyo en recaudar

calcetines y coberturas (cobijas) y otros artículos de ropa para de

invierno. Traerlo a la oficina pastoral.

Lideres de Ministerios Nuestra reunión mensual estaba citada para el lunes pero hay que cambiar para el miércoles a las 7pm. Esperamos verlos ese día.

Making Plans for Advent Season! We are about to begin the season of

Advent preparing to celebrate the Birth of Our Lord. The following hopefully, will help us prepare and celebrate well.

New Missals

Use the new missals as you come into Church: read the prayers and review the days readings. It will

help you with your Mass preparation..

Mass Participation:

We are urged to participate in the Mass by following and responding aloud the parts of the Mass which pertain to the Assembly (you the faithful). Let us pray and sing at our Celebrations this season of Advent

(and always)!

Silence in Church and at Mass We are all urged to help create an atmosphere of respect and prayer

from the moment we enter the Church until we depart. Advent, like Lent, is a special time which asks of us a special effort at prayer and preparation. A period of silence

will be observed right after Communion giving us all time to

reflect on what we have just celebrated and who it is we have just received in this Sacred Communion.

Introducing Home Bound Ministers

On Saturday, December 2nd, at the 5pm Mass, our Home Bound Ministers will be presented to the Parish and will be commissioned to do their ministry.

Parish Food Handlers

All food handlers who have a food handling certificate are asked to check in with the parish office

Oblate Associates Collection

Our Oblate Associates ask for our help in collecting socks, blankets and other vital winter clothing to

give to the poor and needy. Please bring your donations to the office.

Ministry Leaders Meeting

Our meeting was originally set for Monday however, we need to

change to Wednesday at 7pm. Hope to see all leaders present.

Guadalupanos Breakfast & Sale

All invited next Sunday the 10th for a delicious breakfast and to check the

rummage sale!!! Come by!
