simple vs continuo

PRESENTE SIMPLE

El presente simple se usa para indicar acciones que son habituales o acciones que ocurren pero no necesariamente en el momento en que se habla: yo como, yo duermo, yo salto.

Para conjugar en afirmativa para las terceras personas "he", "she" y "it", añadimos una "-s" al final del verbo y para el resto de pronombres usamos el infinitivo. Para conjugar en negativa e interrogativa se utilizan los auxiliares do/does.

PRESENTE CONTINUO

El presente continuo es un tiempo verbal que indica una acción que está ocurriendo en el momento en que se habla: yo estoy comiendo, yo estoy durmiendo, yo estoy saltando.

Para formar el presente continuo se utiliza el verbo auxiliar "to be" y el gerundio (infinitivo + "-ing") del verbo.
