INGLÉS CONVERSACIONAL
Los cursos de inglés conversacional están diseñados para personas que han llevado cursos de inglés teóricos
pero requieren practicar la conversación y manejarse en contextos profesionales específicos. Adicionalmente,
están dirigidos a personas que no tienen mucho tiempo a la semana para estudiar y por esa razón cada nivel se
ofrece solamente una vez a las semana por tres horas seguidas. Estos cursos están distribuidos en horarios
diurnos y en la tarde.
CONVERSATIONAL BASIC ENGLISH
Este curso ha sido diseñado para personas que no han tenido contacto directo con el idioma Inglés. Los
estudiantes en este curso comenzarán aprendiendo palabras básicas del vocabulario, frases y orden de las
palabras para ayudar a desarrollar una base sólida. Los estudiantes podrán contextualizar y producir el
vocabulario y frases aprendidas a través de juegos de roles estructurados que reflejan situaciones de la vida en
común. Estos contextos se han diseñado para que los estudiantes adquieran confianza con el uso del idioma
Inglés. Al final de este curso, los alumnos serán capaces de conversar cómodamente con hablantes nativos de
inglés sobre una serie de temas del día a día, escribir oraciones simples e implementar estrategias para el
desarrollo del lenguaje en curso.
Objetivos del curso
1. Ampliar el vocabulario a través del contexto de aprendizaje - escuchar, leer y juego de roles.
2. Obtener experiencia y un mayor sentido de confianza en la expresión de ideas escritas y por vía oral en una
variedad de temas.
3. Adquirir una comprensión más profunda de la sintaxis y la gramática del inglés a través de las actividades del
libro y actividades de clase.

CONVERSATIONAL LOW INTERMEDIATE ENGLISH
Este curso ha sido diseñado para los estudiantes que son usuarios básicos del idioma Inglés y quieren continuar
el desarrollo de la precisión, fluidez y confianza al hablar inglés. Este contenido del curso incluye conversaciones
semi-estructuradas sobre una serie de temas familiares y relacionadas con el trabajo, como el trabajo, el tiempo
libre, el deporte, los viajes, los problemas ambientales y más.
Al finalizar el curso, el alumno será capaz de comprender y conversar acerca de asuntos cotidianos que tienen
lugar en el trabajo, la escuela, el ocio, y situaciones frecuentes en las actividades diarias. Los estudiantes
también serán capaces de hacer frente a la mayoría de las situaciones que pueden surgir durante un viaje por
zonas donde se utiliza el idioma. Los estudiantes participan en una variedad de actividades en el aula que
fomentan la fluidez y la confianza en sí mismos cuando se utiliza el inglés. Los estudiantes adquirirán las
competencias que necesitan para continuar con su educación en esta lengua extranjera.

CONVERSATIONAL HIGH INTERMEDIATE ENGLISH
El curso tiene como objetivo desarrollar los conocimientos y habilidades de los estudiantes en un nivel
intermedio alto. Después del curso, los alumnos serán capaces de interactuar con cierta fluidez y espontaneidad,
lo que posibilita la comunicación normal con hablantes nativos sin tensión alguna. El alumno será capaz de
producir textos claros y detallados sobre una amplia gama de temas y explicar un punto de vista sobre temas
generales, indicando los pros y contras de las distintas opciones. Este curso ofrece a los estudiantes las
habilidades de comunicación fuertes, mejorando su capacidad de escucha y comprensión. La atención se centra
en las actividades interactivas continuas que permiten a los estudiantes a participar en conversaciones prácticas,
hablar en público, y debates. Los estudiantes también leen diversos textos relativos a temas de actualidad y
otros -temas de alto interés para que puedan aplicar las habilidades de pensamiento crítico para participar en
discusiones en clase. Los estudiantes saldrán de este curso con un mayor sentimiento de confianza con
conversaciones cara a cara con los hablantes nativos de Inglés.

Este curso está diseñado para estudiantes que son usuarios independientes del idioma Inglés que no tienen la
confianza de hablar en entornos profesionales. Al final de este curso, los estudiantes serán capaces de
expresarse de forma fluida y espontánea sin muestras muy evidentes de esfuerzo para expresiones. Al combinar
el uso del libro de texto y textos auténticos en inglés, los estudiantes serán capaces de discutir a fondo los textos
y dar opiniones. Los estudiantes también desarrollarán su capacidad de comunicación y presentación de ideas
en entornos que son más formales. Al final de este curso los estudiantes tendrán la facultad de sentirse más
cómodos hablando en inglés en situaciones profesionales.

Este curso está diseñado para estudiantes que son usuarios independientes del idioma Inglés y tienen
experiencia hablando en entornos profesionales en los que es necesario un alto dominio del idioma Inglés. El
estudiante de este curso desea mejorar sus habilidades y practicar para mejorar aún más su fluidez y confianza
en todas las situaciones de inglés. Los estudiantes repasarán estructuras gramaticales complejas y practicarán el
dar presentaciones profesionales en inglés. Al final de este curso, los alumnos serán capaces de desarrollar
habilidades para hablar con comodidad y presentar ideas, opiniones, y presentaciones en Inglés con confianza

INTENSIVE CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH
Esta es una modalidad nueva de nuestros cursos de inglés conversacionales, para personas que disponen de más
tiempo por semana y menos tiempo para completar el programa de inglés en total. Se mantiene un enfoque
conversacional pero todos los niveles se completan en menos tiempo que los cursos regulares. Se ofrecen 6
horas por semana para que el estudiante sea expuesto al inglés y lo pueda practicar más. Los horarios se
distribuyen en tres horas dos veces a la semana, o dos horas tres veces a la semana. Además, el programa es
bimensual para que se puedan cubrir todos los niveles en menos tiempo.

INGLÉS PARA PROFESIONALES
Estos programas están diseñados para estudiantes que tienen un nivel de inglés intermedio o avanzado que les
interesa conocer vocabulario técnico para desarrollarse en su área de interés específico. Al final del curso, el
estudiante podrá entender y utilizar lenguaje técnico y comunicarse para lograr objetivos particulares de su
trabajo. Los cursos se imparten en 10 semanas con un enfoque conversacional y de desarrollo del lenguaje
específico para el área de especialidad.
BUSINESS ENGLISH
Este es un curso para ejecutivos con un alto nivel intermedio de inglés. Cubre aspectos de gestión como la
planificación, la organización, el liderazgo, la motivación, la dotación de personal, el control y la coordinación. El
curso se imparte en inglés para integrar vocabulario, gramática, lectura y comprensión oral - con un énfasis
conversacional. Tiene contenido vocacional específico para las ventas y el marketing, la banca y la inversión,
legal y contable, así como para profesionales de la arquitectura y la ingeniería; y sirve para reforzar las tareas y
habilidades tales como la realización de reuniones, presentaciones, motivación de los empleados, servicio al
cliente y la negociación. El profesor es un hablante nativo de inglés que está certificado como maestro de inglés
como Segundo Idioma con honores en inglés de negocios, y que tiene experiencia en la enseñanza significativa
con las principales empresas e instituciones costarricenses.
This is a course for executives with a high intermediate level of English, who need specific English skills that the
market and the business world require. It covers managerial aspects including planning, organizing, leadership,

FABRIC DESIGN AND PRODUCTION
This course will introduce the students into the types of fabrics, the production process of fabrics and the
painting techniques for them. The objective is to teach students to create and design clothes and other objects
like purses and bags, and to use their creativity in non-traditional arts and crafts. It is a great course for

PREPARATION FOR SAT AND COLLEGE COUNSELING
This course provides practice exercises and tests similar to the ones used in the SAT test. It also
provides orientation to high school students who are planning to study in the United States and
Europe. The orientation will include help with living arrangements, help with filling out forms that
universities request, and preparing the young student to have new responsibilities at home and at the
university. It is directed to high school students from 10th to 12th grades.

ARTEKI KIDS SUMMER CAMP (8-12 YEARS OLD)
Variedad de actividades bilingües para niños de 8 a 12 años. Los estudiantes aprenderán diseño por
computadora a través de este innovador software. Además, recibirán clases de actuación, de
apreciación artística del cine, y diversos cursos para desarrollar proyectos creativos de diseño, arte y
manualidades. Dentro del horario, podrán practicar ejercicios de relajación como Yoga para que
aprendan técnicas para controlar la ansiedad y el manejo del stress. Además, el campamento ofrecerá
temas de exploración y conocimiento de la naturaleza y la música para entender cómo equilibrar el

PORTUGUÉS Y TEMAS DE INNOVACIÓN DEL BRASIL Se ofrecerán tres niveles de cursos de portugués (Básico, Intermedio, Avanzado y Tópicos de
Innovación en Brasil con los mejores libros de Aprendizaje del Portugués, y materiales
complementarios utilizados para conocer diferentes casos de innovación tecnológica que serán
abordados en estos niveles. Los cursos no solamente tienen como objetivo enseñar el idioma en sus
diferentes niveles, sino ofrecer información económica y de innovación que está realizando Brasil para
ampliar su mercado y crecer internacionalmente. El curso intenta conocer no solamente el idioma, sino

CONVERSATIONAL SPANISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
The fundamental purpose of this program is to provide non-Spanish speaking students a competent
level of Spanish that allows them to satisfy, promptly and effectively, their communicational needs
when speaking as well as writing. A team of native-speaking university professors with degrees in
Spanish Philology, Linguistics or Spanish as a Second Language, are the teachers of the Conversational
Spanish courses. It uses excellent didactic materials and technological facilities. The knowledge of
relevant aspects of the Hispanic culture, in general, and Costa Rican, in particular, is a pillar of the
Program of Spanish as a Foreign Language. Thus, students will learn the language and its interaction
with historical and social contexts in Costa Rica.
