    God has been pouring His lavish blessings on our FBC family in a way that createshumility, affirmation and inspiration! But, we are not yet done. Now is the time topress on toward the finish line while experiencing Gods blessings. Te following is justa sampling of the kingdom harvest God is sending our way.

    MEMBERSHIP, EVANGELISMANDFINANCIALMINISTRYREPORT

    Church membership grew to 6,423 precious souls and Bible Fellowship enrollment rose to more than 4,896. During 2014 we received 289 new memberswith 118of these treasured friends requesting to

    bebaptized.Other evangelistic harvest endeavors resulted in hundreds of people coming toChrist through Te Living Christmas ree, Vacation Bible School, our Crossroads televisionbroadcast,prison ministry, Judgment House, and a multitude of mission partnerships.

    God enabled us to soar past our budget of $6,310,000with budget gifts of $6,827,998 an overage of $517,998!

    Our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missionswas an amazing$297,757and theAnnie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missionstotaled$123,400.Our support of the Community Ministries totaled $218,000. 2014 giftsto Childrens Hopeexceeded $1,000,000. Our India Church Buildingfund received over $150,000. Our aggregate spendingfor mission endeavors exceeded $2,000,000!

    Lets celebrate the following Ministry highlights for 2014:

    DISCIPLESHIPMINISTRIES We continue to progress in ourBible Fellowship Class Goal of2015 by 2015.

    Bible Fellowship Class Average Attendancefor the year was 1,797. On Easter we had 2,380 in Bible Fellowship Classes! Bible Fellowship Enrollment,our most important indicator, was 4,896. Sunday School raining/Appreciation Dayin August was attended by more than 300 of our teachers and leaders.

    We continue to grow in Christ by equipping the Saints for ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13). On-Campus and Off-Campus Bible Studies continue to multiply helping disciple our members during the week. On Wednesday and Sunday nights, our discipleship classesthrived with a variety of courses fromExperiencing God,

    Bible Book Studies, and marriage/parenting courses centered on Christian principles f rom Gods Word.

    PRESCHOOLMINISTRY

    In 2014, we were blessed to have 300 Preschool Sunday School, Worship Care, and PEW volunteerswho shared thelove of Jesus with more than 300 preschoolersin the Bible Fellowship Preschool Department. We welcomed 34 precious

    babiesinto the First Baptist Family. Vacation Bible School (VBS)was a huge success with 415 enrolledin the preschool department. PEW (Preschoolers Experiencing Worship)continues to thrive each Sunday during the 11:00 worship service, with

    an average attendance of 20. Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)continues to thrive with enrollment of 20 preschool moms.

    CHILDRENSMINISTRY

    2014 started off with 64 childrenparticipating in Bible Drill.We had 13 childrenwho completed the state/district drill. OurYoung Worshipers Club (YWC) involved our 4th through 6th graders in worship. From reading Gods Word to

    praying during worship, our kids are learning what it means to follow Christ with all their heart. Te IncrediKids Day Campfor all first through third graders had 61 children at Camp Chandler. At Kids Kamp,we took

    75 4th through 6th graders to Camp Lee in Anniston. Te theme was Friendships: Stuck Like Glue and the camp speakerwas Rick Callahan, the Minister of Children and Families at First Baptist Pell City.

    Vacation Bible Schoolwas held and we hit the target with 1,214 total enrollment.Our children joinedAgency D3as theydiscovered that Jesus was more than just a good man, decided that Jesus really came and died and is still alive, and knowhow to defend their faith. Our children gave $1,914 to the cooperative program, 34 decisions to accept Christ were made,and 40 prospects were added.

    H20was held on Wednesday nights during the summer. Again, we went to homes each week that had pools and focusedon object lessons.

    Our summer activities were a BIG success thanks to two awesome interns: Erin Williams and Walker Harris.

    Te annual Family Fest had more than 100 visitors out of 663 recorded registration forms to God be the glory! Te BIG Church ourwas a lot of fun this year as many families entered Kids Inc.Te 1st graders love asking our pastor,Jay Wolf, personal questions and they were also excited to tour our facilities. Sunday evening, we distributed 67 Biblestonew first graders.

    STUDENTMINISTRY

    Te student ministry of FBC Montgomery had an incredible year of growth, discipleship, worship, and fellowship. We sawstudents accept Christ as Savior, numerous baptisms, and many students commit to a stronger stand for Christ.

    Students were constantly on mission with organized Mission Excursionsto Haiti, New York, South Africa, Mobile,and here in Montgomery. Tese trips helped our students grow as well as gave them the opportunity to impact thelives of countless others.

    Students also participated in many more trips to facilitate growth and fellowship such as DiscipleNOW, Choir our,Outdoor Adventure, Crossover trips for 6th-8th grades, College Lake Retreat, Missions Montgomery, Youth Camp,

    Judgment House, Senior Leadership Retreat, Connect Winter Conference, Passion Conference, and much more. Our weekly events gave a consistent foundation for a stronger faith in the lives of our students. We averaged 125+

    studentsat Powerhouseevery Wednesday evening. Another blessing was an average attendance of nearly 85 students atBaldwin Bible Study(for Baldwin Junior High) right after school on Wednesdays comprised mostly of guests.

    Our weekly college Bible study, GROW,has increased over the past year and continues to disciple and reach thecollege students at the many college campuses in Montgomery. We averaged 45 college studentseach week at theMcElvys home and saw an increase in college membership at First Baptist. Te College Ministry also saw a greatincrease in Bible Fellowship Class attendance this year.

    All of these ministry opportunities combined to make 2014 a year of incredible growth in our student ministry. Tiswouldnt have been possible without such a supportive church, awesome parents, and humble, capable leaders.

    SINGLEADULTMINISTRY

    In 2014, a new Bible Fellowship Class for single adults in their 30s was started. We now have six classes: 20s, 30s, 40s andolder 40s and up. Tese are all co-ed and continue to be active individually as classes and come together for fun events. Wealso have a class for ladies and one for men.

    Single adults continue to be active in tutoring on Wednesday nights and teaching English as a Second Language. Te Missions Auction benefitting the Single Adult Mission Scholarship Fund continues to grow, enabling many single

    adults to go on mission. Single adults have been on mission to five continents this year. Plus they revitalized a partnershipwith Sequoia church in Ottawa, Canada. One class commissioned three full-time missionaries to do ministry both here inthe states with the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and two with the International Mission Board (IMB).

    We took 37 people from eight months old to 80 years old on mission in New Orleans, where they participated in a daycamp and block party.

    17 members of the ripp Henley Memorial Class traveled to Haiti to work with Childrens Hope. Tey worked onconstruction of the medical clinic, did evangelism and held a medical clinic.

    We distributed more than 200 new backpacksfilled with school supplies for the children of the Chisholm community. Te

    children also received physical help at the dental and medical clinic and spiritual help f rom our preacher Beau Cooper.Te children loved the puppet ministry of Doug and Lori Rogers.

    Our ministry had beach retreats, rafting retreats, fellowships and continued with IGNIE and weeknight Bible studies.

    SENIORADULTMINISTRY

    Tis years Senior Adult ripsincluded Point Clear, Alabama; Atlantas Stone Mountain and the Carter PresidentialLibrary; Te Celebrators Conference in Pigeon Forge, ennessee; and our annual trip to the Andersons Farm in Ramer.

    Our JOY Singerssenior adult choir led us in worship on Senior Adult Day, the annual Patriotic Concert, and kicked offChristmas 2014 with our annual Christmas program. In addition they also sang at nursing homes during the year andparticipated in the State Senior Adult Choir Festival.

    Five specialbanquets and fellowshipswere held this year. Average attendance for these events ranged from 200 to 270 senior adults. In addition, extended classes were held during 2014.January Bible Studyand Senior Adult VBSgave senior adults many

    opportunities to study Gods Word. wo sessions of computer training were held, bringing the total number of senioradults receiving computer training certificates to more than 400.

    Our In-Home Ministryis a vital link between First Baptist Church and those who can no longer attend. Tis yearwe provided flowers at Christmas and our deacons conducted In-Home Lords Supper celebrations with manyhomebound adults. Regular visits are made by our wonderful In-Home Ministry associates.

    We also launched a new ministry called Living Hope Cancer Care Ministr y.Our goal is to minister in the name ofJesus to those affected by cancer as well as ministering to their family.

    Senior Adults serve in so many ways. Mission expeditions, office volunteers, BeaconDeacons, Sunday greeters andushers, Caring Center volunteers, just to name a few, enabled First Baptist to help more people follow Jesus.

    MUSICMINISTRY

    Te Sanctuary Choirplays a vital role in worship leadership each Sunday morning throughout the year. TeSanctuary Orchestrafaithfully and effectively leads in worship each Sunday morning. Special events like our annualGospel Sing are a great blessing to many.

    Te One Voice Choir(9th-12th grades) continues to grow and impact many students lives. Te choir had anincredible music and missions experience to New York City which culminated in our annual Homecoming WorshipConcert. Tey worked with several of our NAMB mission partners and sang many worship concerts. Tey sang for theannual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention in Baltimore. Te choir also led in special worship services such asour Christmas candlelight communion worship.

    Te One Heart Choir(7th-8th grades) has a membership of 75. One Heart led in worship for a number of our eveningservices. Te choir led a music and missions tour in the Mobile area over the summer.

    Te Preschool and Childrens Choirprogram impacted the lives of many children. Te choir leadership had more

    than 50 volunteers. Many of our older children participated in the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions ChildrensHonor Choir.Te children led in worship at specific seasonal times during the year and culminated with a concert andmusical in the spring. Te annual youth choir kick-off event had 600+ participate.

    Only eternity will reveal the impact of the 2014 Living Christmas ree.It is such a blessing to be part of such amagnificent team. Many people indicated they chose Christ as their Savior, made a written recommitment of theirlife, and indicated they wanted more information about FBC. More people attended the LC than ever before.

    Additionally, we had the largest choir participation we have had since we moved into the sanctuary ten years ago with175 singers. From parking, to decorating, greeter to greenery, the entire team was comprised of more than 500 people.

    After 34 years, God continues to produce massive Kingdom fruit from our old tree!

    COMMUNICATIONSMINISTRY

    Te Communications Ministrycontinued to creatively enhance and promote all of FBCs events and ministries to our

    members and the community. Tis was done through a variety of ways including the website, newsletters, mailouts, posters,billboards, email marketing, social media, and the order of worship. Te electronic form of the Beacon continues in popularityand is sent weekly to more than 500 church members. Te printed Beacon continues to be mailed each week with the help ofa dedicated group of senior adults. Our goal is to keep everyone well informed and to encourage involvement in FBC.

    Te Media Ministrycontinued to grow and sent the message of Jesus Christ beyond the walls of our buildings. Staffedprimarily by volunteers, the media ministry produced 52 thirty-minute programs that were broadcast on WSFA as wellas the Frazer Christian elevision. In addition, a complete service is also available on the Frazer V at 1:30 eachSunday. Many special productions were made, the highlights being the Living Christmas ree DVD, One Voice Choir

    our, the JOY Singers Patriotic Program, and the Gospel Sing. Te website,www.montgomeryfbc.org,continues to grow in its offerings including the convenience of online giving

    and event registration. It is being continually updated and expanded to add features that will magnify the ministries ofFirst Baptist. Please take the time to explore this ministry tool.

    MISSIONSMINISTRY Te Missions Factorywas alive and well during 2014. Members of FBC have been actively involved in missions

    through work close to home here in Montgomery, the United States and Across the Globe. Approximately 746 volunteersparticipated in 50 mission projectsin more than 20 nations on five continents. A special feature of 2014 was our triennial Global Impact Celebration (GIC). Tis event brought 33 missionaries

    representing 17 countries around the world to First Baptist. As part of the GIC our church hosted two conferences forthe Alabama State Board of Missions: the Great Commission Prayer Conference and the Pursue Collegiate MissionsEvent. We saw more than 400 college students f rom around the state join mighty prayer warriors from around thestate as we were challenged by Dr. Chuck Lawless, Dr. Gordon Fort, Nik and Ruth Ripken, and Dr. Danny Woods. Ahost of people from First Baptist committed to give their all for the sake of taking Christ to the lost.

    God has also continued to bless our involvement in embracing the Ejamat people of Senegal, Africa. Tis people groupwas previously listed as an Unengaged Unreached People Groups (UUPG). In 2014, we sent several mission teams to

    work with the Ejamat people which included evangelism and training. Te IMB did a special media story on the Ejamat.Most importantly, 2014 marked the first time that the Ejamat had a baptism service without any westerners present. Werejoice in this milestone among the people.

    God continues to bless the Childrens Hope Ministrythat provides help in adoption, foster care, and orphan assistance. Teorphanage in Jacmel, Haiti is completed and the lives of many people in that city and country are being influenced with the lightof the Kingdom of God because of the efforts of faithful FBC members. ommy and Joy Schwindling continue to serve as ourmissionaries to Haiti. In addition, new ministry partners are coming on board to help with the orphanage. At the end of 2014Charlie and Martie Elgin moved to the Jeremie area in Haiti to begin a new phase of operation in that part of the country.

    Our partnership with SEND NYCalso continues to thrive. We supported NAMB missionaries Brad and Sarah Wall in the

    ministry that they are doing among Unreached People Groups in New York City. Tis partnership continues to grow andproduce great fruit among previously unengaged people groups located in New York City. In addition, two new partnerswere established which will begin receiving church planning funding in 2015.

    We were blessed to begin a partnership with Church Planting Missionaries im and Amy Corbinin Seattle, Washington. In October, our church played a major role in the River Region Judgment House.Tis community outreach event saw

    more than 3,000 people in attendance with 391 salvations and 214 rededications. Te missions housewent through a major rehab in preparation for our missionary family from South Asia to stay there.

    OUTREACHANDSPECIALMINISTRIES

    During the year of 2014, 42 personscompleted ourABCs of Evangelismtraining program. Visitation was held everySunday night with an average of eleven participating.

    TeVisually Impaired Ministryheld eight special meetings and activities throughout the year. Te kitchen prepared and served 92 meals in our effort to promote fellowshiparound the table at FBC.

    COMMUNITYMINISTRIES

    Te Caring Centerregistered 11,646 adults (i.e. families). We distributed 81 tons of food to 10,257 adults and children.Financial assistance in the amount of $62,011.13 was given to needy families. Tere were 3 professions of faith. TeBarnabas Ministryhad 243 clients attend and 93 of them secured employment. 58 volunteerstutored 40 students.

    Te Childrens Learning Centerended the year with an enrollment of 94 children.Te Learning Center had 15 graduatesand every child that applied was accepted by magnet schools.

    Counseling Carehas a part time counselor, Dr. Hayden Center and one counseling intern International Ministryincludes our English as a Second Languagewith an enrollment of 100 students. Night ESLenrollment

    was 15 students with six volunteers. otal number of volunteers in the English Caf is 18. Conversational Englishhas anenrollment of 249 students from 51 countries. Forty-six children are enrolled in preschool during Conversational English classes.

    Nehemiah Projectprovides a ray of hope to the Chisholm area. Te summer program included 50 children and five interns.

    GEDenrollment was 89.Te Nehemiah Kids Clubafter school program enrollment was 35. We acquired 5 acres plusthree houses and a gym. We have a 2 acre Masters Garden. Our Read to the Pawsprogram included 155 weekly.

    Other programs and highlights include Moms Programwith 15 participants, Caregivers Support Group,Grief Share,Celebrate Recovery, and AIDS.

    FIRSTBAPTISTFOUNDATION

    Te Foundation managed more than $6 millionduring 2014, and received more than $670,000in gifts that will yield amassive eternal dividend.

    Te Foundation distributed more than $190,000 in funds to help fuel Gods workthrough the ministries at FBC. Weprovided significant assistance to our Caring Center ministry, contributed funds for a Parenting Conference featuring MarkGregston, provided the funds to help start Celebrate Recovery, contributed funds for the Preschool, Children, and Studentministries, and invested in spreading the Gospel through missions from Canada to South Africa.

    During 2014, we continued our partnership with PhilanthroCorp,a Christian estate planning firm out of Colorado. Wevehad more than 80 FBC families work with PhilanthroCorps team of experts, and these plans yield an anticipated giftamount of more than $27 million to FBC.

    Te Foundation made a significant contribution of more than $52,000for the educational advancement of our 40scholarship recipients.

    CONCLUSION

    Tis is an exhilarating season of running the race. During 2015 we are trusting God to bless our efforts as we seek to followHim and make an eternal kingdom impact.
