THERE I S : Utilitzem el THERE IS per dir que hi ha una cosa. En afirmativa, quan escrivim

loraci, podem fer servir aquestes preposicions:

o A : Si la paraula que ve desprs comena per consonant.

Exemple There is a cinema in my street. (Hi ha un cine al meu carrer)

o AN : Si la paraula que ve desprs comena per vocal.

Exemple There is an apricot on the table. (Hi ha un prssec al damunt

de la taula)

THERE I SN T : Utilitzem el THERE ISNT per dir que NO hi ha una cosa. En negativa, quan

escrivim loraci, podem fer servir aquestes preposicions:


Exemple There isnt a cinema in my street. (No hi ha un cine al meu

carrer)


Exemple There isnt an apricot on the table. (No hi ha un prssec al

damunt de la taula)

I S THERE . . . ? : Utilitzem el IS THERE...? per preguntar si hi ha una cosa. En interrogativa,

quan escrivim loraci, podem fer servir aquestes preposicions:


Exemple Is there a cinema in my street? (Hi ha un cine al meu

carrer?)


Exemple Is there an apricot on the table? (Hi ha un prssec al damunt

de la taula?)

THERE ARE : Utilitzem el THERE ARE per dir que hi ha ms duna cosa. En afirmativa,

quan escrivim loraci, podem fer servir:

o NUMBERS : Per dir una quantitat exacta de coses.

Exemple There are t h ree cinemas in my town. (Hi ha t r es cines a la

meva ciutat)

o SOME : Per dir que hi ha algunes coses, sense dir la quantitat exacta.

Exemple There are some hotels in my city. (Hi ha a l guns hotels a la

meva ciutat)


THERE AREN T : Utilitzem el THERE ARENT per dir que NO hi ha ms duna cosa o la

quantitat que indiquem duna cosa. En negativa, quan escrivim loraci, podem fer servir:

o NUMBERS : Per dir que NO hi ha aquella quantitat de coses.

Exemple There arent f ou r cinemas in my town. (No hi ha qua t re

cines a la meva ciutat)

o ANY : Per indicar que NO hi ha cap cosa.

Exemple There arent any hotels next to my house. (No hi ha cap

hotels al costat de casa)

ARE THERE . . . ? : Utilitzem el ARE THERE...? per preguntar si hi ha ms duna cosa o

alguna cosa. En interrogativa, quan escrivim loraci, podem fer servir:

o NUMBERS : Per preguntar si hi ha aquella quantitat de coses.

Exemple Are there f ou r cinemas in my town? (Hi ha qua t re cines a la

meva ciutat?)

o ANY : Per preguntar si hi ha ms duna cosa sense saber la quantitat.

Exemple Are there any hotels next to my House? (Hi ha cap hotel al

costat de casa?)
