April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month Published on 4/11/2016

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to recognize that we all play an important role in protecting our children and young people. Each year, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles publishes the Working Together to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse brochure, which provides a listing of policies, programs, resources and other information on how the Catholic Church is working to help prevent child sexual abuse. Copies of the 2016 brochure are available in the parish vestibule or by contacting [email protected]

Gospel Reflection: Our being “sheep” does not mean that we blindly follow Jesus, but that we actively pursue a relationship with him by hearing his voice and heeding his words. Although following the Good Shepherd truly leads to eternal life, the way of discipleship is not easy. However, nothing can interfere with Jesus’ care for us: we are secure in his hands. We are never alone for he is the good Shepherd.

—Fray Gilberto Cavazos-Glz, OFM, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
