Para insertar la tarjeta SIM en la ranura como el icono mostrado y asegurese de que los pins de oro de la terjeta SIM se encuentre hacia abajo. (Advertencia: Por favor no inserte ni extraiga la tarjeta SIM cuando está encendido el Netbook, al contrario los datos pueden perderse o la tarjeta sería dañada.)

3. Vista Inferior

Cuando el computador está funcionando o cargando, se produce calor en el interior del Netbook y se lo transfiere a la parte trasera del chasis por el sistema de disipación para enfriarlo. El adptador también puede producir un poco de calor durante el uso normal. El Netbook y su adptador deben, por tanto, no ser utilizados en las piernas o en otra parte del cuerpo por períodos prolongados durante su uso, también evitar el uso del Netbook en superficies suaves (Ej. Sofá) ya que podría bloquear el ventilador de calor e interferir con el enfriamiento.

1-3 Configuración de su computador

1. Instalación/Remoción de la Batería

Por favor instala la Batería antes de utilizar el Netbook y conecte al adptador de aliment-ación externa. El Netbook puede ser alimentado por la batería o por el adptador externo. Si usted está en un ambiente de oficina, le recomendamos utilizar el adptador externo en la medida de lo posible. Si usted está lejos de oficina y no hay enchufes disponibles, utilice la batería en su lugar.

Instalación de la Batería

Paso 1: Voltee el Netbook y tenga la parte de atrás de la batería hacia arriba. Ahora empuje el final de la batería del Netbook contra el contacto metálico en la ranura de la batería del Netbook de manera uniforme y lenta a través de los rieles de la batería.

Paso 2: Presione el final de la batería del Netbook con el contacto de metal completa-mente dentro de las ranuras de la batería. Cuando éste haga “Clic”, significa que el pestillo de la batería ha enganchado y ahora la batería está asegurada al Netbook.

Paso 3: Empuje el seguro de la batería ligeramente hacia el interior para asegurar la batería en su lugar.

Remoción de la Batería

2. Conexión del adaptador de alimentación

El adptador de CA proporciona fuente de alimentación externa a su Netbook y carga la Batería al mismo tiempo. El adptador de CA también tiene un diseño de conmutación automática que puede conectarse a cualquier enchufe de CA de 100V ~ 240V.

Paso 1: Conecte el cable de alimentación al socket de adptador de CA.Paso 2: Conecte el conector de adptador de CA al puerto CD de Netbook. Paso 3: Conecta el otro extremo del cable de alimentación a una toma viva.

El Conector de del cable de alimentación para la toma puede variar dependiendo de los estándares de nación local. El conector apropiado deberá empaquetado con su Netbook. 1-4 Utilización del Touchpad1. Introducción al TouchpadEl Touchpad es como un mouse de computador. Es sensible a la presión del dedo del usuario y genera un voltaje que es usado para controlar los movimientos del cursor y emitir órdenes.El Touchpad es sensible a los movimientos del dedo. Simplemente se mueve un dedo a través del Touchpad para controlar el movimiento del cursor en la pantalla. Bajo el Touchpad hay dos botones. El botón izquierdo es como el botón izquierdo del mouse y se usa para seleccionar opciones o la iniciación de programas en la pantalla. El botón de la derecha trabaja de la misma forma que el botón derecho del mouse. El botón lock sirve para bloquear o desbloquear el touchpad.

2. Un solo Toque/un solo ClicPara seleccionar una ventana de función o presionar un botón de ícono, mueva su dedo a través del Touchpad para mover el cursor hacia la ventana o botón a seleccionar. Ahora toque el Touchpad con su dedo para realizar la acción. Esta acción es equivalente a presionar el botón izquierdo del mouse. Puede también presionar el botón izquierdo del Touchpad para el mismo efecto.3. Doble Toque/doble ClicPara abrir un archivo o documento, mueva su dedo a través del Touchpad para mover el cursor al archivo que desea abrir. Ahora rápidamente toque dos veces el Touchpad con su dedo para realizar la acción. Esta acción es equivalente a presionar el botón izquierdo del mouse dos veces. Puede también presionar dos veces botón derecho del izquierdo para el mismo efecto.4. ArrastrarMueva sus dedos a través del Touchpad para mover el cursor hacia el objeto que usted desea arrastrar. Ahora mantenga apretado el botón izquierdo del Touchpad con una mano y mueva el cursor al lugar deseado. Libere el botón y complete la operación de arrastre. Puede también hacer doble toque en Touchpad sobre el objeto que desea arrastrar y mantener el dedo en el Touchpad después del segundo toque para realizar la operación de arrastre con una mano.

2-1 Instalar un nuevo sistema Windows XP

1. Presione <Del> para entrar en la configuración de BIOS durante el proceso POST, seleccione y entre en el menú de “Boot”, establezca el “1st Boot Device” a la uni-dad “USB DVD”, presione <F10> para guardar los cambios y salir de la BIOS.

2. Inserte el CD de instalación de Windows XP en la unidad USB DVD. El computador se reiniciará y se inicia la instalación del Sistema Operativo Windows XP. La figura es como se muestra a continuación:

2-2 Instalar los controladores en el nuevo Windows XP

1. Luego de instalar Windows XP, usted tiene que instalar los controladores necesa-rios antes de utilizar su Netbook. Inserte el CD de controladores del Netbook en la unidad USB DVD, espere unos segundos, el menú principal se depslegará en la pantalla de su Netbook

2. Seleccione estas opciones para instalar todos los controladores para su sistema. Usted debe hacer clic en "Intel Chipset Driver" para instalarlo primero y después haga clic en "One Click Setup" para instalar todos los demás controladores restantes, o puede hacer clic en cada controlador individual para instalarlos manual-mente.

3. Luego de que todos los controladores hayan sido instalados, usted necesita reini-ciar su Netbook, para poder utilizarlo.

6. Entonces le pide seleccionar el tipo de instalación. Haga clic en “Custom (avan-zado)” para instalar una copia nueva de Windows.

7. La configuración mostrará las particiones (160GB, en este ejemplo) de disco duro de su sistema. En caso de que hay otros sistemas (tal como Linux) instalados previamente, debe seleccionarlos y hacer clic en “Drive options (avanzado)” -> “Delete” para eliminarlos. Cuando todas las particiones están vacías, la configu-ración mostrará el tamaño más grande de su disco duro.

8. En la pantalla del tamaño más grande de disco duro, puede hacer clic en “Drive options (avanzado)” -> “New” para crear las particiones como necesita. En este ejemplo, estamos creando una partición de 70GB para instalar Windows, haga clic en “Apply” para continuar.

Para asegurar que todas las funciones puedan trabajar correctamente, Windows creará particiones adicionales para los archivos del sistema. Por eso puede ver una partición de 100MB reservada por el sistema después de crear una partición. Selec-cione la partición de 70 GB y haga clic en “Next” para continuar.

9. Desde este paso comenzamos a instalar Windows 7 en su disco duro. Durante este proceso, su computador se reiniciará varias veces.

10. Cuando la instalación está completa, la configuración preparará su computador para el primer uso. Entonces puede seguir los pasos para seleccionar las configu-raciones del sistema, crear una cuenta, configurar una contraseña...etc, hasta el proceso entero esté completo y entre en el sistema Windows 7.

3-2 Instalar los Controladores en el nuevo Windows 7

1. Luego de instalar Windows 7 completamente, usted tiene que instalar los controladores necesarios antes de utilizar su Netbook. Extraiga el CD de instalación de Windows 7 desde la unidad USB DVD, e inserte el CD de controladores. Espere unos segundos, el menú principal se depslegará en la pantalla.

2. Seleccione estas opciones para instalar todos los controladores para su sistema. Usted debe hacer clic en "Intel Chipset Driver" para instalarlo primero y después haga clic en "One Click Setup" para instalar todos los demás controladores restantes, o puede hacer clic en cada controlador individual para instalarlos manual-mente.

3. Luego de que todos los controladores hayan sido instalados, usted necesita reini-ciar su Netbook, para poder utilizarlo.

FoxMC significa Fox Media Center (Centro de Media de Fox), que incorpora las funciones de navegación por Internet, entretenimiento, trabajo de oficina, gestión de documentos y varias configuraciones del sistema en el escritorio. 5-2 Recuperación del sistema Linux

I Recuperar el sistema desde el DVD

1 Arranque desde el DVD.Encienda el computador, inserte el DVD de instalación del sistema en la unidad DVD, presione "ESC" para seleccionar arrancar el sistema desde la unidad DVD.2 Seleccione la forma de instalación.Cuando la figura se muestra como a continuación, seleccione"Install and make recovery partition", el sistema será instalado y una partición de recuperación será creada. O seleccione "Install system only", el sistema será instalado sin recuperar la partición, así recuperar el sistema desde el disco duro es imposible.

When the computer is running or charging, heat is produced inside the Netbook and transferred to the back of the chassis by the heat dissipation system for cooling. The transformer may also produce a lot of heat during normal use as well. The Netbook and its transformer should therefore not be placed in the lap or on any other body part for prolonged periods during use. Also avoid placing the Netbook on a soft surface (e.g. sofa) as it might block the heat vents and interfere with cooling.

1-3 Setting Up Your Computer

1. Installing/Removing the Battery Pack

Please install the battery before using the Netbook and connect the external power supply transformer. The Netbook can be powered by the battery or the external transformer. If you are in an office environment, we recommend using the external transformer as much as possible. If you are away from the office and no power socket is available, use the battery instead.

Installing the Battery Pack

Step 1: Turn the Netbook over and have the back of the battery facing upwards as well. Now push the end of the battery with the metal contacts into the Netbook's battery slot evenly and slowly along the battery rails.

Step 2: Push the end of the Netbook battery with the metal contacts completely into the battery slot. When there is a "click", this means the battery latch has engaged and the battery is now secured to the Netbook.

Step 3: Push the Battery Lock inwards lightly to lock the battery in place.

Do not remove the battery while the Netbook is still running. This may damage the data on the hard disk.

Removing the Battery Pack

Step 1: Shut down the Netbook. Disconnect all cables and devices.

Step 2: Turn the Netbook over and unlock the battery by pushing the Battery Lock outwards.

Step 3: Push the Battery Latch outwards and hold it in place with your finger. Now use

the other hand to pull the battery out.

2. Connecting the Power Supply

The AC transformer provides external power source to your Netbook and charges the battery pack at the same time. The AC transformer also has an auto-switching design that can connect to any 100V AC ~240V AC power outlets.

Step 1: Plug the power cord into the power socket of the AC transformer.Step 2: Plug the connector of the AC transformer to the DC port of Netbook. Step 3: Plug the other end of the power cord to a live power outlet.

The power connector of the power cord for the power outlet may vary depending on the local national standards. The appropriate connector will be bundled with your Netbook. Please always use the connector to connect the power outlet. The connector shown here may not match the type included in the box and is provided for reference only.

1-4 Touchpad Usage

1. Introduction to the Touchpad

The touchpad is like a computer mouse. It senses the pressure from the user's finger and generates a voltage that is used to control the cursor's movements and issue commands.

The touchpad senses finger movements. Simply move one finger across the touchpad to control the movement of the cursor on screen. Below the touchpad is three buttons. The left button is like the left mouse button and is used for selecting options or launching programs on screen. The right button works the same way as the right mouse button.The lock button is to lock or unlock the touchpad.

2. Single Tap/ Single Click

To select a window function or press a button icon, move your finger across the touchpad to move the cursor to the window or button to select. Now tap the touchpad with your finger to perform the action. This action is equivalent to pressing the left mouse button. You can also press the left touchpad button for the same effect.

3. Double Tap/ Double Click

To open a file or document, move your finger across the touchpad to move the cursor to the file you wish to open. Now quickly tap the touchpad twice with your finger to perform the action. This action is equivalent to pressing the left mouse button twice. You can also press the left touchpad button twice for the same effect.

4. Drag

Move your finger across the touchpad to move the cursor to the object you wish to drag. Now hold down the left touchpad button with one hand and move the cursor to the desired location. Release the button and complete the drag operation. You can also double tap the object you wish to drag and keep the finger on the touchpad after the second tap to perform the drag operation with one hand.

Make sure you have these ready:

Before we continue :■ Shut down your computer.■ Connect the USB DVD drive to an USB port of Netbook and connect the power

cord to AC power.

2-1 Install a new Windows XP system

1. Press <Del> to enter BIOS setup during POST, select and the go to "Boot" menu, set "1st Boot Device" to USB DVD drive, press <F10> save changes and exit BIOS.

2. Insert the Windows XP Install CD into the USB DVD drive. The computer will reboot, and it will start installing Windows XP Operating System. The figure is shown as below:

3. Press <Enter> to continue the installation and press <F8> to agree the Licensing Agreement. Windows will display the partition of your system. First of all, you had better press [D] to delete the partition, then you can press [C] to create partitions as many as you can, assign them C:, D: or E: logical drive name. In this example, we will create a 50GB partition C: and leave the remaining space as a partition D:. The figure is shown as below:

4. Press <Enter> to install Windows XP. The process will ask you to format hard disk, copy files...etc, follow the installation steps until the system is installed completely.

2-2 Install drivers in new Windows XP

1. After installing Windows XP, you have to install necessary drivers before using the Netbook. Insert the Netbook driver CD to the USB DVD drive, waiting for a few seconds, the main menu will be displayed on your Netbook screen.

Make sure you have these ready:

1. An USB DVD drive.2. A Netbook driver CD.3. Windows 7 Install CD.

Before we continue :■ Shut down your computer.■ Connect the USB DVD drive to an USB port of Netbook and connect the power

cord to AC power.

3-1 Install a new Windows 7 system

1. Power on your Netbook, then press <Del> to enter BIOS setup during POST. Select and go to the “Boot” menu, set the “1st Boot Device” to USB DVD drive, press <F10> to save change and exit BIOS.

2. Put the Windows 7 Install CD into the USB DVD drive.3. The computer will reboot, and it will start loading files for installing Windows 7 system.4. After that, it will start Windows and come out a “Install Windows” dialog box to set

the “Language to install”, “Time and current format” and “Keyboard or input method”. Click “Next” to continue and click “Install now” button to start the setup.

5. When the license terms appears, select to accept and click “Next” to continue.

6. It then asks you to select the installation type. Click “Custom (advanced)” to install a new copy of Windows.

7. The setup will display the hard disk partitions (160GB, in this example) of your system. If there were other systems (such as Linux) installed previously, you need select them and click “Drive options (advanced)” -> “Delete” to delete them. When all partitions are clean, setup will display the biggest size of your hard drive.

8. In this biggest hard disk size screen, you can click “Drive options (advanced)” -> “New” to create partitions as you need. In this example, we are creating a 70GB partition to install Windows, and click “Apply” to continue.

To ensure that all Windows features work correctly, Windows might create additional partitions for system files. So you will see a 100MB partition reserved by system after you create a partition. Select the 70GB partition and click “Next” to continue.

9. From this step we start to install Windows 7 into your hard disk. During the process, your computer will restart several times.

10. When the installation is complete, setup will prepare your computer for the first use. Then you can follow steps to select system settings, create an account, set a password...etc, until the whole process is complete and enter Windows 7 system.

3-2 Install Drivers in Windows 7

1. When the Windows 7 is completely installed, you have to install the necessary driv-ers before using the Netbook. Take out the Windows 7 Install CD from the USB DVD drive, and put the driver CD inside. Waiting for a few seconds, the main menu will be displayed on the screen.

2. Use these options to install all the drivers for your system. You must click "Intel Chipset Driver" to install it first. After that, you can click "One Click Setup" to install all the other drivers, or you can click on each individual driver to install it manually.

3. After all the drivers are installed, you need to restart your Netbook, then you can start using it.

5-2 Recovery of Linux system

I From DVD to recover system

1 Boot from DVDPower on the computer, insert the system Installation DVD into the DVD drive, press "ESC" to select booting system from the DVD drive.2 Select the way of InstallationWhen the figure as below shows, select "Install and make recovery partition", the system will be installed and a recovery partition will be made. Or select "Install system only", the system will be installed without recovery partition, so recover system from hard disk is impossible.
