Estimadas familias, El verano se acerca y el fin del año escolar está a la

mano. Es increíble reflexionar sobre las excelentes actividades de la escuela, las grandes lecciones y los increíbles maestros, personal, padres y voluntarios que han ayudado a hacer que este año sea un éxito. HCCS y sus alumnos han tenido un año exitoso gracias a todos ustedes. Las noches de alfabetización y matemáticas, asambleas, eventos variados, presentación de talentos y la enseñanza en las aulas ayudaron a enriquecer nuestra escuela y proporcionar un excelente lugar para el aprendizaje de sus hijos.

Se ha continuado este año con el enfoque en una escuela de Title-One (Título-I) y seguir haciendo esfuerzos para mejorar la enseñanza para todos los alumnos. Seguiremos avanzando para convertir toda la escuela en Title-One y ha sido un proceso de mucho tiempo y esfuerzo, pero estamos confiados como equipo y escuela que el beneficio que reciben nuestros alumnos vale la pena el trabajo que se ha invertido en la implementación.

El próximo año también continuará el trabajo en la acreditación y estamos seguros que las prácticas descritas en el proceso nos harán una escuela más fuerte.

Muchas gracias por este gran año, el apoyo y el aliento que han dado a nuestra escuela, su personal y los alumnos maravillosos. También quiero dar las gracias a todos los padres y niños que han tenido como prioridad la asistencia.

A.M. Arrival: Enter the EAST end of the parking lot (closest to Indiana). Students may exit vehicles at the crosswalk locations in the center of the parking lot or you may park to assist students exiting vehicles. Please encourage students to wait for the crossing guards to guide them across lanes of traffic. As the cold and wet weather approaches, please remind your students to be aware of slick conditions. Exit parking lot on the WEST end (closest to Montana). P.M. Pick-Up: Enter through the EAST end of the lot (closest to Indiana) to park and proceed to the flagpole or stay in the carpool lane. All students will exit the building; please meet your child outside. If you are staying in the carpool lane, please encourage your student to watch for your vehicle and meet you at the carpool lane. Students should be picked up promptly after school. Exit parking lot on the WEST end (closest to Montana)

LOTTERY INFORMATION

Enrollment for the 201 3-201 4 lottery is now open! Lottery applications for new students (including new

kindergartners) are due no later than 11:59 p.m., on March 29th. Enrollment applications can be found on the school

website: www.heritagecommunitycharter.com. Please spread the word to your friends and neighbors.

The lottery will be held at 9 a.m. on April 6th, in Mrs. Estrada's classroom #121.

Letters have been sent to families to confirm their intent to return next year. If you have not received one please contact the office immediately. Each family must sign and return the intent letter to the school by March 1st in order to reserve a seat for their returning student for the 2013-2014 school year.

Spring Break is right around the corner so take some time to Spring Clean and donate your gently used/unwanted items.

Bring them to our parking lot on Saturday, April 14th between 7-8 am. (We do not have a place to store items before the event)

Clothing will be sold by the bag so no need to price. Please price other items. NEEDS:

Estimadas familias, ¡Feliz mayo! No puedo creer que este año haya terminado y ya estemas comenzando el verano. Muchas gracias por su apoyo con la noche de alfabetización el mes pasado. Fue un gran éxito y espero que la hayan pasado bien.

¡Quiero recordarle que alienate a sus hijos a leer en el verano! Es la mejor manera de que no pierdan el hilo. Vayan a la biblioteca. Ahí hay varios programas de lectura de verano. Busque algo que le interese a sus hijos y a leer se ha dicho. Las mejores maneras de hacerlos leer son alimentando su interés y preferencias. ¡Lea revistas, cómics, elija una novela que todos sus hijos disfruten y lean en familia todas la noches, solo LEA! Diviértanse, hagan de ello un concurso, platique con sus hijos de lo que están leyendo. ¡Lea en frente de ellos, sea un buen ejemplo y ellos también van a querer leer!

LIMPIEZA DE LAS AULAS TUTORING

COMMUNITY GARDEN The sixth grade HCCS Community Garden Class is excited to begin the gardening process. We are working with volunteers from the Canyon County Extension Office, the Master Gardener Program, the Idaho Botanical Garden, the Lunaria League, the Native Plants of Idaho Society and the Idaho Horticulture Society. We are currently looking for donations of the following items: a tool shed, a pond form, hoses, gloves, shovels, a wheelbarrow, fruit trees, lumber for raised planting beds, seeds, garden benches, and paving stones. We have already received many donations and look forward to getting our hands in the dirt. Please contact Mrs. Mattravers with questions and ideas: jmattravers@heritagecommunitycharter.com.
