-Los cromosomas se desplazan hacia los polos.- Los cinetocoros de los cromosomas están unidos a los microtúbulos cinetocóricos- Esta fase termina cuando todos los cromosomas han llegado a los polos.- Los microtúbulos cinetocóricos se acortan durante esta fase.

2. LOS ORGANISMOS MULTICELULARES CRECEN, REEMPLAZAN SUS CÉLULAS MUERTAS O AGOTADAS Y REPARAN SUS TEJIDOS MEDIANTE LA MITOSIS.
3. LA MITOSIS PERMITE MANTENER CONSTANTE EL NÚMERO DE CROMOSOMAS, DIVISIÓN TRAS DIVISIÓN, DE UNA GENERACIÓN DE CÉLULAS A LA SIGUIENTE.
