Advanced RelayTest Plan Editor New Release: the advanced editor of test programs has a high andpowerful number of instructions and operations; particularly,macrocommands, loop instructions, tests and graphics.It is possible to write complicated programs, for example those forthe test of distance relays. The user can also define somesubroutines to create macrocommands which involve a series ofoperations: a certain number of subroutines is available with thesoftware; for example, the subroutine which executes the researchof a threshold value and the relative reset value with the gradientmethod. Please refer to the on line help file for detailed descriptionof the program.

UTB32 Upgrade for the DRTS 66 firmware release 1.16: maximum powergeneration for 110 V supply voltage. IRIG B signal management.Zero power option. New management of auxiliary contacts A5-A8.

TDMS New skin, more intuitive and user-friendly, releasedManual Control The new version of the program has been released; the program isfully compatible with the previous version of the Manual Control.New features:

- interface simpler and user-friendy: it is now possible to showand hide the panels with the tests and the results table, andthe graph panel; it possible to resize each panel to improvereadability. The user can now visualize in the same screen thefault parameters, the graphs and the results table

- the program now makes a distinction between tests andresults: it is now possible to save separately the tests or thetests plus the results generated. A single set of tests cangenerate more than one results set than can be comparedwith a previously created one (by using Test Identification it ispossible to distinguish the generated tests with differentcolors). The user can repeat the tests overwriting the existingresults or creating a new Test ID to compare the new resultsobtained

- the program can now create, open and managesimultaneuosly more than one file

- the amplitude, rate of change, phase of all currents and

voltage values are grouped together to simplify the definitionof the test. The user can use the mouse wheel in order toincrease/decrease set values. In the Power Panel the user canset and modify the value of active and reactive power,keeping constant the value of voltage.

- “Set and start”: if the user clicks the “START” button theprogram transfers to the instrument the set values and startsimmediately the generation of these values.

- in the Formula Editor the user can set a conditional formula inorder to define if the test is “PASSED” or “FAILED”

CBA The program has been updated to manage version 2.17 ofCBA1000's firmware: added the option "Full Wave" for analog input(the program manages both negative and positive values ofvoltage); the program reads second open times and flow times inthe case of Open-Close-Open test type; added "Slow Motion"measures.Now all measurements are listed in the same order as firmware(both CBA1000 and CBA2000).Graphical improvement: the trigger rappresents the start of timer;events that come before it are negative time values; events thatfollow it are with positive time values.Graphical improvement: when the user zoom an area, the programactivates an horizontal scrollbar, so that you can watch all sampleslike a film.

Added menù voice ”Save All Files...”: by choosing this option theprogram saves all opened files (both Test Plan type and Resultstype) in the folder selected by the user.

BTS Fixed this issues:- if the software disconnects from the test set (usually when

the user moves the knob inside menus), now it able to re-connect without having to unplug the cable

the values of discharge watt setted on the test set is correctlyread by the software (multiplied by a factor of 100)

- inserted a delay useful to improve the reading of the resultslist (the start and end session date were wrong)

CBA Fixed the bug: the program was unable to open connection with atest set serialized with “2008/20602” code. The program now is ableto connect to instrument that have the serial number containing thestring “602” (that is the same code used by the firmware tocommunicate its parameters)

Manual Control &Sequencer Now these programs can manage the booster AMV66 (if the pilotingDRTS 6 has the 300 V option, these programs assume that also V5and V6 of the booster can reach this voltage value)

Distance 21 Fixed these bugs: if the user modifies the value of the angle thecharacteristic diagram disappear; the default language is not storedand reloaded when the program starts; run-time error (division byzero) when the radius in the “arc” function was zero valued. Now in in initialization file the program saves also the values of Tpre,Tmax and Thold

CBA Fixed these bugs: error when the result list was empty or the resultfile had a wrong result date; the serial number stored on the test setwas not stored by the program.Now if the result has been created with the BSG option, digitalresistance channels are graphically showed with an half levelbetween the close and the open positions.Now when opening a result or a test plan file, the user can make amultiple selection of files.

Added a new menù voice "Save All Files...": when the user select thisoption the program automatically saves all opened files. Updated forthe release 2.17 of the firmware program: the program has beencorrected to navigate correctly to the calibration page of the travel

the corresponding stroke (that can be different phase per phase); asin the case of analog travel transducer, it is possible to enable datumpoints and to calibrate the test set. When the user download the

must be at least 2.16, for CBA2000 the firmware version must be atleast 1.14).Import from third parties format function: now the program use onlyone byte (instead of two) to interpretate the value of the digitalchannels

CBA Added the images of help explanation (Recording Options andDatum Points) for spanish and deutch languages. Implementationfor firmware release 2.15 of CBA 1000 test set: now the programcan manage the command with code 416 that enables the softwareto download the header informations written on the test set (thiscommand is executed evety time the user downloads testplans fromthe test set)

CBA Updated for release of firmware version 2.14 (CBA 1000 only): nowthe program can read, store and print the session date; with thenew firmware command (code 248) header informations (Plantname, Feeder, Manufacturer, Breaker Model, Breaker Serial Number,Operator) can be uploaded on the test set.

Added two new menù voice in the Result menù: Extract Test Planand Save Test Plan; with the first option the program opens the TestPlan that generated the result file in a new window so that the usercan repeat the test or save it in TDMS; with the second option theprogram saves the test plan in a separated file on the local disk.

Now the user can sort, ordering for name or date field, the Test Planand the Results list read from the connected test set.

The zoom function is now implemented with three buttons.The first button initializes the zoom functionality; when pressed theuser can zoom a graphic area pressing the left button of the mouseand then holding the mouse over the graphic area (like in Comtrade

program); the second button zooms the graphic area inside the twocursors T1 and T2; the third button restores the graphic bounds.

A Test Plan created for CBA1000 instrument can be downloaded alsoon CBA2000 test set

Now the currently opened Test Plan can be directly uploaded on thetest set

Distance 21 Added "Multiple Contacts Test"; if you select this kind of test, youcan register trip times of different contacts of the connected test set,regardless of fault.Operative steps:1) Define or load the characterist of the protection relay2) Select "Multiple Contacts Test" in the Advanced Function Panel3) Click on the icon near the label of the contact name to enable oneor more contacts, changing its default status (from not operative tonormally open or normally close).4) Click on the graph (like in "Click and Test" option). The test willend when all enabled contacts trip.5) Under the column named " T[s] " the program will report all thetrip times of the enabled contacts (if the trip time of a contact isgreater than Tmax the program writes "No Trip")

CBA Fixed this bug: when the user download the result file from the testset, then when closing the program and clicking "Cancel" button atthe question "Save results?" the application wrongly closes.

Sequencer Program released.This tool is a sequence editor that allows to build and run asequence defined by consecutive cycles or steps. It is useful tosearch trip and reset thresholds, trip and reset times, control tripcontacts and auxiliary contacts, display the waveform created by thecycles definition… When uploaded to the instrument, all the cycles of the definedsequence will be executed step by step.Each cycle is defined by the output values of currents and voltages,the state of auxiliary contacts, by a condition for the timing start anda condition for the timing stop of the cycle itself.The user can define the condition of transition from one cycle to thenext one: this may take place after a fixed timeout time, a trigger(trip or reset) condition of the main contacts of the connectedinstrument or by pressing a button by the user himself.In every cycle the user defines if the output condition is a “ValueInjection”, a “Ramp” or if the instrument must hold values of theprevious cycle.For each cycle of value injection type the user defines amplitude,phase, frequency values of currents and voltages.For each cycle of ramp type the user defines initial value and rate of

change values for amplitude, phase and frequency of currents andvoltages.The waveform viewer displays graphically the time signals ofvoltages, currents, auxiliary contacts and main contacts and is usefulto study the reaction of the protection relay.

TDMS Now the program manages two different reports for the CBA results:the standard one and the compact one. A new page is added to thePreferences window to allow to decide which of the available reportsbecomes the default for each report type. The list of reports isdefined in an external .ini file named Reports.ini

CBA Now the program can connect to the new CBA2000 instrument. Thesoftware automatically recognizes if the instrument connected is aCBA1000 or CBA2000. Communication USB driver is the same.Before creating a new testplan, the user must choose if the testplanwill be uploaded to a CBA1000 or a CBA2000 instrument.The testplan editor allows now to manage up to twelve auxiliaryinputs (four for CBA1000) and up to three breakers and pressure ortravel transducers (only one for CBA1000).The number of analogic channels is two (one for CBA1000).

Analogic channels, travel or pressure transducers can be enabledsimultaneously.Results management (download and/or delete) is transparent to theconnected instrument. The results and waveform viewer formsupports the major number of analog and digital channels.

Added a new menu voice: import from Pen Drive. The userdownloads results from the instrument into a USB pen drive. If the

user presses this menu voice, the program opens a window thatshows a grid containing files loaded in the USB pen drive source.These files can be loaded in the results and waveform viewerwindow.

Upgrade Now the program manages epg files that can be downloaded onCBA2000 instrument

Energy Now the program allows the connect in parallel the currents ofDRTS.6 instrument

Manual +Distance 21 By means of a dedicated module, DRTS.6 instruments can expandtheir testing capabilities by handling IEC61850 messages. One suchmessage coming from a device connected to the substation network(such a relay) is also called Goose.When the user presses the “IEC 61850” button, the software opensthe “Goose Explorer” form. In this mask the user can activate Gooseexploration of the IEC61850 messages on the network; the softwarewill interpretate the goose packet read by the instrument. MACsource address, MAC destination address, Goose univoque identifier,Dataset univoque identifier associated to Goose and timestamp (dateand hour) of sending goose packet will be shown in a grid. When theuser selects goose describing row, the program will show in an othergrid the goose’s details. Captured data can be saved in a databasefile in Access format, that stores the result of a session of exploringof the IEC61850 network.
