Creating a Surface from Multiple Datum CurvesLevel 10

PTC has decided to not include any Freeform surfacing tutorials for N sided surfacing starting with Creo2.0. You might note that the LMS assignment uses Creo 1.0 instructions.

Surfacing Using Creo ParametricAdditional Boundary SurfacesCreating N Sided Surfaces.Produce the following screen capture. You will not have the watermark.

Consumer products are usually comprised of highly contoured 3-D surfaces. The goal of this portion ofthe exercise is to investigate how to build such a surface from multiple datum curve geometry, similar towhat is shown below.

The first item you need to know is that all the defining the edges of the surface are connected to eachother (aligned). In addition, there is one curve (spline) sketched on the Frontal plane, and the otherfourcurves are sketched on the Horizontal plane. Use Insert - Model Datum Sketch.

    Five Sketched Curves are

    REQUIRED in the model tree

You will need to refer to the on line help to aid you in learning how to create such geometry.Hint : Creo Parametric Surfacing; Technical Surfacing.Tip: Creating an N-Sided Surface (do a search on this)

The N sided command is NOT in the ribbon (use the command search box to find it)

Also look at the Tip on creating N sided surfaces. Please note that no boundary conditions need to be defined (nor can they be defined).

Alt-Print Screen an image similar to the one in the center of page 1 to document your success at this levelshowing the part and the model tree. Note: Your model tree will list Sketches rather than Curves.

Documentation for Level 10 will consist of a single page showing a screen capture of the LMS N-Sidedsurface procedure and the N sided surface exercise.
