El Dr. Arab es médico especialista en Gastroenterología y Hepatología, Profesor Asistente en Medicina de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Es experto en enfermedades del hígado, realizó un postgrado en investigación y un entrenamiento clínico avanzado (advanced fellowship) en Hepatología y Trasplante Hepático en la Mayo Clinic en Rochester, MN, Estados Unidos. Realiza investigación biomédica traslacional y clínica, especialmente en enfermedad hepática por alcohol y enfermedad por hígado graso no alcohólico. Adicionalmente, desarrolla áreas de interés en cirrosis, hepatocarcinoma y trasplante hepático. Cuenta con múltiples publicaciones en Hepatología, es miembro de las sociedades latinoamericana, americana y europea de enfermedades hepáticas y revisor para las revistas más importantes de la especialidad a nivel mundial.
