Creo que no hay duda de que elCampeonato del Mundo de MotoGP™ FIM2016 es uno de los más esperados de los 67años de la historia de nuestro gran deporte.Todos esperábamos con anhelo la nuevatemporada y las apasionantes carreras queseguro presenciaremos en losespectaculares y famosos circuitos quevisitamos en los próximos nueve meses. ElCampeón del Mundo de MotoGP™ 2016 sehabrá ganado la corona tras haber superadola prueba entre hombre y máquina a lo largode los 18 eventos del año repartidos en 14países diferentes y cinco continentes.

Como ha demostrado la historia, eldeporte del motociclismo siempre estáentre los mejores cuando se producencarreras increíblemente disputadas, condrama y que requieren valor y purahabilidad. Son exactamente estas proezaslas que verdaderamente entretienen a lasmiles de personas que visitan los circuitos.Por no mencionar las audiencias globales demillones de aficionados que siguen la acciónen su televisión o a través de los múltiplesdispositivos que permiten seguir elCampeonato en directo en la palma denuestra mano. Ahora es posible que losaficionados se sientan partícipes de la accióngracias a los tremendos avances entecnología que se han producido dentro yfuera de las motos.

Cada temporada vemos un nivel decompetición más alto debido a la mayorimplicación de los pilotos y al gran empeñoque ponen en mejorar su condición física.Esto va en conjunción con el enormeesfuerzo que ponen los equipos y suhabilidad para obtener todas las ventajastécnicas que pueden dentro de las reglasque se les imponen.

La FIM, como órgano de gobierno juntocon sus grupos de interés, tiene la obligaciónde equilibrar la búsqueda casi interminablede mayor velocidad pero al mismo tiempogarantizar la seguridad de todos los pilotosque salen a la pista cada fin de semana. Estotambién se hace de acuerdo con los ajustesy modificaciones que garantizan que lospresupuestos de las carreras estén en lalínea de las actuales condiciones económicasmundiales.

Como FIM, lo más importante es serconscientes de nuestra responsabilidad paraque esta increíble competición y loscontinuos pasos adelante que se hacen entecnología se lleven a cabo dentro de lasbases que han sustentado el deporte delmotociclismo a lo largo del último siglo,como el juego limpio, el respeto hacia losrivales y un nivel excepcional dedeportividad que es admirado por losaficionados y medios de comunicación detodo el mundo.

Con todos estos conceptos en micabeza, me gustaría desear personalmentea los participantes de MotoGP™, Moto2™ yMoto3™ una temporada segura y deportivade la que todos estemos orgullosos. Ennombre de la FIM me gustaría terminardando las gracias al promotor Dorna, a losequipos, los fabricantes, los circuitos, losvoluntarios y funcionarios, y también atodos los que participan en la ampliacomunidad de los Grandes Premios. El piloto de Repsol Honda, Marc Márquez,ha realizado un magnífico inicio de temporadaque le sitúa como favorito indiscutible parallevarse su tercer título de Campeón delMundo de MotoGP™ en este 2016.

El catalán consiguió su primera victoria dela temporada en Termas de Río Hondo, enArgentina, antes de sumar una dominantevictoria en Austin, donde ganó por cuartavez consecutiva saliendo desde la pole.Márquez ahora es líder de la categoría con 21puntos de ventaja sobre el vigente Campeóndel Mundo, Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar YamahaMotoGP), quien se recuperó de su caída enArgentina y acabó segundo en el Circuito delas Américas. El mallorquín confía en volver ala senda del triunfo en Jerez, donde el añopasado empezó su secuencia de cuatrovictorias consecutivas.

Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez has made asensational start to his bid to win a thirdMotoGP™ World Championship title in 2016.

The Spaniard scored his first win of theseason in the two-part Termas de RioHondo round in Argentina before rompingto a fourth successive dominant victoryfrom pole position at the Circuit of theAmericas in Texas.

Marquez holds a comfortable 21-pointlead over reigning World Champion JorgeLorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP), whobounced back from his crash in Argentina tofinish second in Austin.

Lorenzo will be confident of a return towinning ways in Jerez after his success inlast year’s race, which started the best

winning sequence of his career when hewon four races in succession.

Valentino Rossi (Movistar YamahaMotoGP) returns to the scene of his 200thWorld Championship podium in Jerezlooking to rebuild some lost confidenceafter he suffered his first non-finish in 25races when the Italian fell out of podiumcontention in Texas.

Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team)put a difficult start to 2016behind him in Texas when ahard fought third placesecured him a first podiumsince last October’sdramatic Australian GrandPrix at Phillip Island.

His teammate AndreaDovizioso though has hadnothing but cruel luck since hissecond place in Qatar. The Italian hascrashed out of the last two racesthrough no fault of his own and will be looking to get his season backon track in the first European battle ofthe campaign.

De hecho, desde su debut en 2006el catalán ha ganado alguna carrera cada año. Latemporada pasada fue una pesadilla para Pedrosa, que seperdió los Grandes Premios de Austin, Argentina y Jerezdebido a una lesión en el brazo. Una vez recuperado, elpiloto del Repsol Honda sumó dos victorias y consiguió eltriunfo número 50 de su carrera en Motegi. En 2016vuelve con energía renovada dentro del mismo equipo ycon Márquez una vez más como compañero.

Dovizioso empezó en Ducati en 2013 para afrontar el retode llevar la Desmosedici de vuelta a la cima. Bajo la direccióndel ex gurú de Aprilia, Gigi Dall’Igna, Dovizioso subió al podioen cinco ocasiones en 2015, incluyendo tres segundospuestos en las tres primeras carreras y una pole en el GPinaugural de Qatar. En 2016 repite experiencia al manillar demontura italiana, de nuevo con Iannone como compañero deequipo. Dovizoso empezó bien la temporada con un segundopuesto en Qatar, pero en Argentina y Austin no puedo tenermás mala suerte al ser derribado por otros pilotos cuandoluchaba por el podio.

Dovizioso moved to Ducati in 2013 to take on the difficultchallenge of bringing the Desmosedici back to winning ways.Under the stewardship of former Aprilia guru Gigi Dall’Igna,Dovizioso scored five podiums last year, which included a runof three-second places in the first three races and a poleposition at the opening race in Qatar. ‘Desmo Dovi’ was thefirst Ducati rider in history to podium in the opening threeraces and he remains with Ducati in 2016. For the secondseason in a row, Dovizioso finished a close second in theseason’s opening round in Qatar but has suffered cruel luckin Argentina and Austin when he was taken out whilebattling for the podium in both.

Crutchlow llegó a MotoGP™ en 2011. Su debut con elMonster Yamaha Tech3 no pudo ser mejor y ganó eltítulo de Mejor Debutante. En las dos siguientestemporadas subió al podio seis veces con Tech3 antes depasarse a Ducati en 2014. La oportunidad de correr enuna Honda RC213V en 2015 hizo que el británico secambiase al CWM LCR Honda, equipo con el que logró unpodio en Argentina. Sin embargo la temporada fuecomplicada para el británico y Crutchlow sólo pudo seroctavo en la general. Esta temporada sigue con laescuadra de Lucio Cecchinello.

He continued to make impressive progress over thefollowing two years and scored six podiums with Tech3before moving to Ducati in 2014. El joven italiano dio el salto a MotoGP™ en 2012 con elproyecto CRT del Ioda Racing. Para la temporada 2014 suequipo comenzó a emplear material de ART, pero una lesiónen la muñeca durante el GP de Jerez limitó su progresión. Aúnasí, Petrucci continuó trabajando para acumular experiencia yse ganó un puesto en el equipo Octo Pramac Racing para latemporada 2015, en la que se consolidó sumando puntos deforma regular y haciéndose con el primer podio de su carreraen Silverstone. Eugene Laverty debutó en el Campeonato del Mundoen 2007 al manillar de una 250cc del equipo LCR de LucioCecchinello. Tras disputar varias temporadas y ganarcarreras en World Supersport y World Superbikes, en2015 Laverty fichó por el equipo Aspar para pilotar laHonda Open en su debut en MotoGP™. Tras dos años pilotando para Suzuki, Bautista se unió alas filas de Honda en 2012 y con el equipo Gresini conquistósu primer podio en la categoría reina. Al año siguiente nopasó del cuarto puesto como mejor resultado y en 2014tuvo un difícil inicio de temporada al no poder terminar lastres primeras carreras y, aunque sí sumó un nuevo podio enLe Mans, quedó fuera de los diez primeros en la clasificacióngeneral. En 2015 volvió al equipo Gresini, aunque en estaocasión al manillar de una Aprilia en el retorno de la marcaitaliana a la categoría máxima. El año pasado logró terminartodas las carreras a excepción de una y en 2016 sigue con eltándem Aprilia y Gresini.

After two seasons at Suzuki, Bautista switched to Hondamachinery with the Gresini Team for 2012. He scored twopodiums but fourth place was his best result in 2013 and in2014 there was a difficult start with DNF results at theopening three rounds. El año pasado, el Circuito de Jerez supuso unpunto de inflexión para Jorge Lorenzo eimpulsó al balear a conseguir su tercer títuloen MotoGP™.

El piloto de 28 años no había subido alpodio en los tres primeros GP’s y las dudassobre si iba a conseguir el quinto título desu trayectoria iban creciendo hasta llegar averlo como todo un reto.

La victoria en Jerez catapultó a Lorenzo auna racha decisiva de cuatro triunfosconsecutivos entre Jerez y Catalunya queresultó crucial para conseguir elcampeonato ante su rival y compañero en elequipo Movistar Yamaha MotoGP,Valentino Rossi. “Al venir a Jerez el añopasado estaba a 29 puntos del líder. Sabíaque tenia que reaccionar y aquí dije: “ValeJorge, tienes que correr lo mejor que puedasaquí, sin pensar y simplemente confiar en tuinstinto” . Y eso es lo que hice. Funcionóbien y Jerez fue el comienzo de una muybuena recuperación de caraa las siguientescarreras” , apuntaLorenzo.

Last year’s Spanish MotoGP™ round at Jerezproved pivotal in Jorge Lorenzo’s chargetowards a third premier class WorldChampionship title.

The 28-year-old had not finished on thepodium in the opening three rounds of 2015and doubts were already creeping in aboutwhether he could mount a serious challengefor a fifth career title.

A dominant win in Jerez though was thecatalyst for Lorenzo to go on the bestwinning streak of his career, with fourstraight victories between Jerez andCatalunya ultimately proving critical for himto claim the World Championship in a nail-biting final round decider against MovistarYamaha teammate Valentino Rossi.

“Coming to Jerez last year I was 29-points off the leader, so I knew I needed toreact soon and in Jerez I said “Ok Jorge, justgo there and ride in the best way possiblewithout thinking, just trusting yourinstinct,” and that’s what I did. It worked

well and Jerez was the beginning of a very good recovery in next few races” , said Lorenzo.

Lorenzo eventually won seven races andhis last in a tense finale in Valencia saw himsecure the title rival by a narrow five-pointsfrom Rossi.

The mental stress and emotionalpressure of trying to overturn a seven-point deficit on Rossi was clear for all to seewhen Lorenzo broke down in tears on theslow down lap in Valencia.

He added: “I never cried on the bike, in allmy life, but this time was special because Iknew how many sacrifices and how much Isuffered to get it done. I was the rider withthe most victories, five pole positions, twohundred and seventy-four laps spent leadingthe race, and much more practice sessionleading …and then we arrived in Valencia andwe made the pole position, the fastest lap ofthe race and we won the race, so to doanything more to demonstrate that you

deserve the world title is difficult.”2016 presents Lorenzo with fresh

challenges now MotoGP™ has switchedfrom Bridgestone to Michelin as official tyresupplier, and all entries must now usecontrolled software supplied by Dorna andMagneti Marelli.

And Lorenzo expects the big technicalrevolution to change the dynamics of racingin MotoGP™ compared to previous years.

He said: “I think the races will becompletely different than the last four or fiveyears. We will have a lot of surprises and alsothe riders should be careful with everything,because everything has changed so much.The electronics are quite less sophisticatedso we need to pay a lot of attention to thethrottle, especially when the rear tyre startsto drop, so it's more demanding becausephysically and mentally you have to bealways careful and I think for the smootherrider, these things are going to be better.”

Director Lin Jarvis certainly believescapturing a fourth title will be a keymotivation for Lorenzo this season.Jarvis said: “My feeling is that Jorge is

very motivated to get a fourth world title.Last year he equalled several greats that

have three world titles in MotoGP™ andthree with Yamaha. Only one person hasachieved four at Yamaha, so I expect thatone of his big motivations is to equal thattally. For sure he is hungry to go out andwin another title. Recognition of his statusis important and achieving three titles isn’t anything. It is a big deal and if he isable to achieve four with Yamaha then it isquite phenomenal.”And Jarvis believes Lorenzo is going to

take some beating this year after hisimpressive performances during last seasonhelped Yamaha secure the prestigious TripleCrown for the first time since 2010.Jarvis added: “He has proven himself to

be the fastest performing rider currently.Marc (Marquez) was a couple of years agobut now it is definitely Jorge. Last year,although Valentino led the championship

right to the last race, in terms of purespeed and the stats backed it up,there was no doubt that when

Jorge was on it, he was the quickest guyout there.”Jarvis though is also anticipating another

strong challenge from Italian icon Rossi, whoaged 37 is still looking as motivated and fastas ever.Rossi won four races in 2015 and came

within touching distance of lifting his firstMotoGP title since 2009.Jarvis added: “He is fit and we have seen

him in the winter and honestly mentally hehas been in good form and I think he isfully ready to go out and try and do itagain. Can he do it again? Why not? I don’tthink anything has changed since Valencia.But it depends on the opposition. Jorgemade some slips at the start of last seasonand also Marquez and Honda collectivelymade numerous errors throughout theyear. Can Valentino be as consistent?Probably yes, but I don’t know if he canwin as many races again because there areso many variables.”

La actuación delmallorquín demuestra que la adaptación deYamaha a los nuevos neumáticos y electrónicaa lo largo de la pretemporada ha sidotremendamente efectiva.

Potencia y manejabilidadLa Yamaha YZR-M1 se ha mantenido fiel a sufilosofía de optar por una moto manejable ysuave en lugar de muy potente. Naturalmentepotencia tiene y mucha, pero quizás no tantacomo sus rivales Honda y Ducati. Así que, ¿cómouna moto menos potente puede ganar? Larespuesta debemos buscarla en términos como

“potencia utilizable” y “mantener la potencia enel asfalto” . La entrega de potencia de Yamaha esextremadamente suave y permite que lospilotos puedan aprovecharla casi toda desde elmomento en el que el piloto abre gas saliendode una curva.

Gran parte de culpa la tiene el chasis de lamoto, que proporciona a los pilotos el llamado“agarre mecánico” . Esto se debe a la rigidezdel chasis, al basculante, a su geometría y aotros numerosos componentes que ayudan aque el neumático se “pegue” en el suelo y seextraiga de esta manera todo su potencial. Yesto no solo es importante en la aceleración.Es crucial que la moto sea capaz de frenarbien en la recta pero también dentro de lacurva para dar así al piloto y a su moto lamejor trayectoria en el viraje y poder abrir gaslo antes posible.

ElectrónicaEl nuevo y unificado software de MagnetiMarelli que se ha implantado al inicio de estatemporada 2016, junto con los neumáticos y elchasis de la Yamaha M1, han convertido a estamoto en una de las más suaves de la parrilla.Visto como una forma de reducir costes y llevara los fabricantes a una igualdad de condiciones,el software de Magneti Marelli ha dado mejoresresultados de los que se esperaban cuando seintrodujo en pretemporada. Los pilotos deYamaha se han adaptado bien, aunque ahora elconcepto ha cambiado y durante un GranPremio se tiene más información sobre controlde tracción, mapa del motor y configuración“anti-wheelie” -por poner algún ejemplo- quesobre distancia de carrera.

AerodinámicaEn un intento de reducir la electrónica y hacerque el pilotaje sea más suave, Yamaha haintroducido una versión mejorada de los aleronesen la parte frontolateral, algo que se vio porprimera vez en la M1 en Aragón el año pasado.Estos alerones, montados normalmente en lamoto de Lorenzo, están diseñados para mejorarel comportamiento de la rueda delantera tanto ala hora de abrir gas (evitando el “wheelie” ) comoen plena frenada, pegando el frontal todavía másal suelo, proporcionando así más potenciadurante más tiempo. The Movistar Yamaha MotoGP YZR-M1 notonly finished last year’s championship in the toptwo positions, but also started the year the wayit wants to continue – with a win under thefloodlights in Qatar from reigning WorldChampion Jorge Lorenzo. That particularperformance was a clear indication that theevolution undertaken by Yamaha over the winterbreak to adapt to the new tyres and electronicswas extremely effective.

Power vs HandlingThe 2016 Yamaha YZR-M1 has remained trueto its philosophy of opting for sweet handlingover horsepower. Naturally it is still verypowerful, yet it doesn’t quite match its rivalsHonda and Ducati. So how can a bike with lesspower be a race winner? The key phrases are“useable power” and “getting the power downon the ground” . Yamaha’s power delivery is

extremely smooth, and lets the riders usealmost all its available torque and horsepowerfrom the second the rider opens the throttleon corner exit.

A large part of this is down to the bike’schassis, which provides the riders with a lot ofso-called “mechanical grip” . This stems from thestiffness of the frame, the swingarm, itsgeometry, and numerous other components, tohelp squeeze the tyre into the ground andextract its maximum potential. And this is notonly important under acceleration. It is veryimportant that the bike is able to brake well in astraight line, as well as turn into a corner underbraking, hence giving the rider and his machinethe best trajectory through the bend to get onthe throttle as soon as possible.

In fact it is the braking and corner entry, whichhelps the Yamaha overcome some of itshorsepower deficit. By being extremely smoothand precise on the brakes going into a turn, bothJorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi will oftenmake up lost ground, or even overtake theiropponents. And after this, they can prove verydifficult to re-pass in almost any type of corner.

TyresBut for the bike to use its maximum handlingpotential, the tyres need to play along. The startof the 2016 season saw a big change in tyres,with French manufacturer Michelin stepping inas the sole supplier to the MotoGP class,bringing a new type of rubber and somedifferent characteristics for the bikes and ridersto adapt to. The big change from last year isthat the front tyre cannot be stressed quite asmuch under braking, whilst the rear tyre offersmore grip than before. In the initial stages oftesting, the riders struggled to adapt their ridingstyle, as well as to the different lines they had totake. Yet with continuous evolution fromMichelin, as well as more track time, the new

rubber has now been widely accepted.

ElectronicsCombining both the tyres and chassis to makethe Yamaha M1 one of the smoothestpackages on the grid is the new unifiedsoftware that was rolled out across theMotoGP field at the start of the season. Seenas a way to reduce cost and bringmanufacturers onto a more level playing field,the Magneti Marelli produced software hasseen better results than expected since it wasfirst introduced in winter testing. Yamaha andits riders have managed to adapt well to thesoftware, which now does not allow a bike tolearn over race distance – meaning that ridershave more input as to what traction control,engine map, and anti-wheelie settings (toname a few) the bike switches to during aGrand Prix.

AerodynamicsIn a bid to reduce interference from theelectronics, and make the overall ride evensmoother, Yamaha has introduced an ungradedversion of the aerodynamic winglets on thefront bubble, first seen on the M1 last year inAragon. These winglets, sported generally byjust Lorenzo, are designed to keep the front ofthe bike down during hard acceleration, hencecutting the use of the power-sapping anti-wheelie electronics – hence providing morepower for longer. Some paddock experts andriders remain sceptical of the concept, howeverthe data shows that they do make a difference.

Yet as with any motorcycle, there is not onedefining factor that makes the Yamaha YZR-M1the world-class racing prototype it is. Thecombination of the chassis, smooth engine,tyres, electronics, and of course its riders JorgeLorenzo and Valentino Rossi, will ensure thatsuccess in 2016 is just a twist of the wrist away.

Fenati’s seventh career win gave him the perfect boostheading into this weekend’s Jerez encounter. The Spanishvenue is the track where the Italian scored his first WorldChampionship success in 2012 and he now trails Red Bull KTMAjo rider Brad Binder by just 14-points.

The South African has a 100% podium record in 2016 andis the form rider in Moto3™ with five successive top fourfinishes, including a season best of second in Qatar.

Two second places in a row have shown Estrella Galicia 0,0Honda rider Jorge Navarro is a force to be reckoned with thisyear and he is just three-points adrift of Binder heading intohis home round in Jerez.

Qatar winner Niccolo Antonelli’s early Championshipchallenge suffered a big blow in Austin when the Ongetta-Rivacold Honda rider crashed out after producing a stunningcharge into the top six from 30th on the grid.

Khairul Idham Pawi (Honda Team Asia) created history inArgentina when he became the first Malaysian rider in WorldChampionship history to win a race in Argentina.

He will be looking forward to his first Grand Prixexperience at Jerez, having previous experience of the trackin the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ Junior World Championshiplast season.

Probablemente no lo sepas, pero el deporte porel que sientes afición, MotoGP™, está ayudandoa salvar vidas en África. Hace veinticinco años, el paddock de

MotoGP™ ayudó a que se formase laorganización humanitaria Riders For Health(Riders). Desde que Riders se convirtiera en laasociación benéfica oficial de MotoGP™ y de laFIM (Fédération Internationale deMotocyclisme), hasta 21,5 millones de personasen África han tenido acceso a asistencia médica,muchos de ellos por primera vez.Riders está utilizando la máquina que nos

mantiene unidos por la causa – la moto- paradar asistencia médica a aldeas situadas enlugares remotos de África. Durante 25 años Riders haestado suministrandomotocicletas yconocimientos mecánicos alos trabajadores de la saluden África para permitirlesllegar a sus pacientes conregularidad y fiabilidad. A mediados de los 80,

el piloto Randy Mamola,junto a Andrea y BarryColeman, empezaron arecaudar fondos en elpaddock de un Gran Premiopara ayudar a los niñosdesfavorecidos de África. En un viaje a Somalia en

1988 vieron que al lado de lasclínicas rurales de salud había vehículossanitarios en malas condiciones, motos queestaban abandonadas y oxidadas con solo unospocos miles de kilómetros. La prestación de servicios sanitarios no era la más adecuada y los niños morían deenfermedades fácilmente previsibles y curables.Para gente que había sido motociclista toda suvida, aquello no tenía sentido.Los fundadores de Riders for Health

identificaron un objetivo claro: inventar unsistema que asegurase que la prestación deservicios sanitarios nunca se viese afectada porla falta de vehículos, sin importar lo duras quefueran las condiciones.Hoy en día Riders for Health gestiona 1.700

motocicletas y vehículos a cuatro ruedas paradar cobertura a siete países en África y forma acentenares de trabajadores de la salud para queaprendan a conducirlos y a mantenerlos. Cuandoun trabajador cuenta con una moto fiable puedellegar a atender hasta seis veces más el número

de personas que lo necesitan. Durante el año pasado, Riders estuvo

trabajando en la zona oeste de África,concretamente en Liberia, ayudando a frenar lapropagación del virus del Ébola. Un equipo demensajeros transportaron en moto diversasmuestras de sangre infectada con el virus paraayudar a diagnosticar rápidamente laenfermedad.Anthony Sieh es un mensajero de la región

sudeste del país:

“Antes de la colaboración con Riders noshubiese llevado 3 o 4 días conseguir losresultados de este tipo de pruebas, ahora nos lleva solo un día. Al poder transportarlas muestras nosotros mismos se puede realizaren mucho menos tiempo. Me encanta mitrabajo porque disfruto salvando vidas.”

Su compañero KermeiSondah añade:“Si no pudiésemos

transportar las muestras no podríamos deshacernosdel Ébola. Me sientoorgulloso de formar parte de esta lucha contra laenfermedad.”En 2015, el gran apoyo de

los fans de MotoGP™ eneventos como el Day ofChampions (que se celebradurante el GP de la GranBretaña) o los días depaddock en España, nos

ayudaron a transformar el acceso a la sanidadpara más de 21,15 millones de hombres,mujeres y niños de África. Desdeque este certamen se creó –hace ya unadécada- la Rookies ha demostrado ser unade las mejores canteras del motociclismoactual. El vigente Campeón del Mundo deMoto2™, Johann Zarco, y el actual Campeóndel Mundo de Moto3™, Danny Kent,llegaron al Mundial después de habertriunfado la Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

Uno de los favoritos para este 2016 es elespañol Raúl Fernández, quien ya destacó elaño pasado consiguiendo tres podios. Sucompatriota Marc García se postula como unode sus principales rivales. The 10th Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cupseries gets underway in Jerez this weekend,with 24 young hopefuls commencing ajourney they hope will lead to a future in theWorld Championship.

A decade since its inception, the Red BullRookies MotoGP Cup has proven to be atremendous breeding ground for youngtalent from across the globe.

Current Moto2™ World Champion JohannZarco and reigning Moto3™ WorldChampion Danny Kent both came throughthe Red Bull Rookies Cup before findingsuccess and stardom on the world stage.

One of the main prospects for success in2016 is Spanish rider Raul Fernandez, who had an outstanding finish to last year’s campaign.

The 15-year-old scored three podiumfinishes, while a big threat will be posed byhis fellow Spanish rider Marc Garcia.

Garcia is in his third season in the Red BullRookies MotoGP Cup and he is hoping he canbuild on his first win during the final round atthe MotorLand Aragon in 2015.

One to watch is definitely rising Japanesestar Ayumu Sasaki, who established himselfas a constant podium challenger in 2015.

He scored five podium finishes, including abrilliant debut win at Silverstone, and he alsodominated the Shell Advance Asia TalentCup to underline his undoubted talent.
