ATLANTIC HEALTH JETS TRAINING CENTER
The Atlanc Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, N.J. is the headquarters of the New York Jets. The team moved into the facil-ity with a formal ribbon-cung ceremony on September 2, 2008. Located at One Jets Drive, this 224,000 square-foot complex is sur-rounded by nearly 100 acres of open space and provides players, coaches and sta of the Jets with a state-of-the-art learning, pracce
and working environment. The facility is a short drive to MetLife Stadium, Newark Liberty Internaonal Airport and Morristown Medical Center.
Woody Johnson hired world-renowned architecture rm, Skidmore Owings + Merrill and outlined three key objecves in the design othe training facility. First, as the rst true corporate headquarters for the team, the new training center needed to represent the beginning of a new era for the Jets. Previously, the Jets business and football operaons were located in separate mul-tenant buildingsmore than 30 miles apart. The Atlanc Health Jets Training Center is a modern, glass and steel building that seamlessly combines theoperaons of football and business departments. Serving as the home base for the enre Jets organizaon, it is equipped with openconcept workstaons and state-of-the-art technology to create an ecient and friendly work environment. The training center was amajor contribung factor in the team being named one of Inc. Magazines Top Small Company Workplaces in 2010. An outdoor terracewhich overlooks the pracce elds, provides a business entertainment area for both the team and its corporate partners.
Second, the training and medical facilies had to be state-of-the-art, combining the latest advances in rehabilitaon pools, high-per-formance equipment and nutrion. The complex has ve full-size football elds; three natural grass, one Sportexe synthec turf eld
outdoors, and another in the Field House, each with a permanent scoreboard. The goalposts on two of the natural grass elds can bereposioned 90 degrees in order to minimize wear on the grass. Inside the complex, the rst oor is dedicated to one-hundred yards ofootball along the Players Gallery, consisng of a life-size super-panoramic photo of cheering Jets fans that serves as a daily reminder

Rex RYAN
HEAD COACHSW OKLAHOMA/ARDMORE, OKHIRED: JANUARY 21, 2009
EXPERIENCE:NFL: 17TH / JETS: 5TH
Now in his h season at the Jets helm, Ryan brings the same at-tude and commitment he had when he was rst hired, pairing itwith experience gained from the past four seasons.
Success came early for Ryan has the Jets head coach. His rstyear, the Jets turned a 5-6 record into a 9-7 playo berth, earn-ing two postseason victories before nishing one-step shy of theSuper Bowl. The following season, the Jets nished 11-5, againadvancing to the AFC Championship Game before their seasonended.
The past two seasons have not produced the same results, lead-ing to change throughout the organizaon. An 8-8 season in
2011, coupled with a 6-10 nish in 2012 led to the hiring of newGeneral Manager John Idzik.
I look at Rex Ryan as a very accomplished coach, Idzik said athis introductory press conference. Hes very energec. Hes op-misc. Hes engaging as we all know. He engages our playersand he gets them to play hard. I can speak to that from the op-ponents side.
I look forward to our me together.
Change didnt end with Idzik. 2013 will feature three new coor-dinators. Former defensive backs coach Dennis Thurman moves
into the defensive coordinator role, while the teams oense will
now be headed by Marty Mornhinweg, who joins the club fromPhiladelphia. Finally, aer spending the last four seasons workingunder the now-rered Mike Westho, Ben Kotwica takes over asspecial teams coordinator.
One thing that hasnt changed has been the success on defense.Under Ryan, the Jets have always elded a stout defense, nish-ing in the top eight in total defense in all four seasons. In fact, from 2009-12, only the Jets have nished in the top ve in all ofthe following categories: total defense (2nd overall in that mespan, 294.8 yards per game), third-down defense (2nd, 34.6%),passing defense (1st, 186.3 yards per game), rushing average al-lowed (5th, 3.9 yards per carry), compleon percentage allowed(1st, 52.6%) and opposing passer rang (1st, 71.0).
Tasked with helping to uphold this streak is Thurman,
