El Cantón Gualaquiza, tiene muchos atractivos turísticos naturales y culturales; nuestro deber como ciudadanos es administrar y proteger estos valiosísimos recursos, si lo sabemos manejar de forma
sostenida y sustentable disfrutaremos de ellos durante muchos años.
El objetivo de la presente guía que el Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Municipal de Gualaquiza, en coordinación con la Unidad de Turismo pone al servicio del público es para promocionar la infraestructura turística y los diversos atractivos, así como su flora y fauna ya que muchas de las especies se encuentran en peligro de extinción, por la destrucción de hábitats, comercialización ilegal y la contaminación ambiental.
A Gualaquiza la conocemos como: “Paraíso Amazónico” por su exuberante vegetación, variedad de recursos turísticos como hermosos paisajes, cascadas, playas, ríos, tradiciones y restos arqueológicos los cuales se pueden apreciar en la presente obra.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Está ubicado a 6 Km del centro de la ciudad, se puede acceder en vehículo por la vía Gualaquiza-San Juan Bosco, tomar el desvío a la derecha por la entrada al Sector la Dolorosa donde existe una valla publicitaria la misma que le servirá de ayuda para llegar al atractivo.
PODEMOS REALIZAR:Actividades de entretenimiento, ecoturismo, vista panorámica y toma de fotografía.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:No existen restricciones. En el lugar existe un restaurante con atención permanente y además ofrece servicio de guía. Puede comu-nicarse al Cel.: 085204225.
OBSERVACIONES:Llevar impermeables, botas de caucho, bino-culares y cámara fotográfica.
LOCATION OF THE TOURISTIC ATTRACTION:It is located to 6 km from the center of the city. It can be acceded by car for the route Gualaquiza-San Juan Bosco, take the detour to the right side until the entrance to La Dolorosa parish where there is a sing wich will help people to arrive to the place.
WE CAN DO:Entertainments, ecotourism, panoramic views and take photos.
RESTRICTIONS AND PERMISSIONS:There are not restrictions. In this place a restaurant and a guide attention permanently’s service. You can call to 085204225.
OBSERVATIONS:You can bring a rincoat, rubber boots, binoculars and camera.
Cascada Culebrillas“Culebrillas” (Little Snakes) Waterfall

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Se encuentra ubicada en la comunidad Shuar Kupiamais a 9 Km. del centro cantonal, vía Gualaquiza-Sevilla-Kupiamais. Desde la co-munidad inicia un sendero por el que se debe recorrer 2 horas hasta la cascada.
PODEMOS REALIZAR:La gente acude hasta aquí para disfrutar de un momento de recreación familiar, donde se puede bañar, tomar fotografías y observar la abundante flora y fauna que alberga el lugar.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:Se debe llegar a la comunidad de Kupiamais donde se cancela para ingresar.
OBSERVACIONESSe recomienda llevar botas de caucho, blo-queador solar y ropa extra, contactarse con la Unidad de Turismo para obtener la ayuda de un guía local.
LOCATION OF THE TOURISTIC ATTRACTION:It is located in a shuar community called Kupiamais to 9 Km from Gualaquiza, on the route Gualaquiza-Sevilla-Kupiamais. From the community it starts a path which must be followed for about 2 hours until you can reach the rainfall.
WE CAN DO:Local people go there to enjoy of an entertain-ment moment with their family and friends, where they can swim, taking photos, and watching flora and fauna.
RESTRICTIONS AND PERMISSIONS:You must go to the Kupiamais community where you should pay for entering there.
OBSERVATIONS:It is recommended to bring rubber boots, sun screen and extra clothes, better if you contact to the Tourism Unit to get local guide’s help.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Su acceso se realiza por la vía Gualaquiza-
Sígsig hasta llegar a la comunidad La Pra-
dera, desde allí se camina dos horas y media
por el camino antiguo a Bermejos.
PODEMOS REALIZAR:Vista panorámica, toma de fotografías, hidro-
masaje y tomar un relajante baño.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:Para visitar el atractivo no se requiere de
permiso.
OBSERVACIONES:Se debe llevar botas de caucho o zapatos para
caminata, bloqueador solar, cámara fotográfi-
ca, ropa extra y alimentación.
LOCATION OF THE TOURISTIC ATTRACTION:The approach is for the Gualaquiza-Sigsig
route, to arrive to the La Pradera Community;
from there you need to walk for about 2 hours
and half for the ancient path to Bermejos
town.
WE CAN DO:Panoramic views, taking pictures, water mas-

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Desde Gualaquiza a Nueva Tarqui se recorre 25 minutos en vehículo, luego se toma la vía a Nueva Zaruma hasta el fin; desde este lugar se camina hora y media para llegar al atractivo.
PODEMOS REALIZAR:Vista panorámica, observación de flora, toma de fotografías, hidromasaje y tomar un baño.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:Para visitar el atractivo no se requiere de per-miso, pero es aconsejable contactarse con la Unidad de Turismo para obtener un guía.
OBSERVACIONES: Se debe llevar botas de caucho o zapatos para caminata, bloqueador solar, cámara fotográfi-ca, ropa extra y alimentación.

mejos, junto a la carretera de ingreso.

Desde Gualaquiza se toma la ranchera (trans-
porte típico) con turno a Bermejos-Chigüin-
da. A 0.5 Km. antes del centro parroquial se
ubica el atractivo.

In Gualaquiza you can take a typical car called
“ranchera” and travel to Bermejos-Chigüinda
to 0.5 kilometers before the parish’s center
where the attraction is located.

por tener la facilidad de estar junto a la vía.

Se recomienda llevar impermeables, ropa

It is located on the Gualaquiza-Chigüinda
route on the fiftieth kilometer, to 10 minutes
before the Chigüinda parish.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Se toma la vía Gualaquiza-Chuchumbletza-Tunda-yme-Valle del Quimi; desde este poblado se puede acceder 2,5 km en carro, para luego caminar 3 ho-ras para acampar. Desde este sitio se asciende 1 hora y 15 minutos para llegar al atractivo.
PODEMOS REALIZAR:Paisaje espectacular donde se puede tomar fotografías, bañarse.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:El lugar puede ser visitado permanentemente y la entrada es libre.
OBSERVACIONES:El acceso al lugar resulta riesgoso por la presencia de barrancos, zonas de vegetación tupida y zonas rocosas, es por eso que se deben tomar las precau-ciones necesarias y contar con la ayuda de un guía. La visita a este lugar puede ser realizado en un día, pero lo más recomendable es hacerlo en dos, por lo que se recomienda llevar equipo de campamen-to, comida y ropa extra.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Se toma la vía Gualaquiza-Chuchumbletza- Tunda-yme-Valle del Quimi; desde este poblado se puede acceder 2,5 Km. más en carro, para luego con-tinuar a pie (4,5 horas) hasta el atractivo. Desde Gualaquiza hasta Valle del Quimi se demora 1 hora 45 minutos.
PODEMOS REALIZAR:Fotografía, acampar, observación de flora y fauna; caminata.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:El lugar puede ser visitado permanentemente y la entrada es libre.
OBASERVACIONES:El acceso al lugar resulta riesgoso por la presencia de barrancos, zonas de vegetación tupida y zonas rocosas, es por eso que se deben tomar las precau-ciones necesarias y contar con la ayuda de un guía. La visita a este lugar puede ser realizado en un día, pero lo más recomendable es hacerlo en dos, por lo que se recomienda llevar equipo de campamen-to, comida y ropa extra.

From Gualaquiza to Valle del Quimi last about an hour and 45 minutes.

TOURISTIC FACILITIES:In El Quimi community there isn’t a touristic structure. In Tundayme there is a restaurant which is opened permanently.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Al atractivo se ingresa siguiendo la vía Gua-laquiza-Chiguinda; en el Km. 10 se encuentra un desvío que conduce al centro de la comu-nidad Guabi Alto; desde este lugar se recorre 30 minutos en vehículo.
PODEMOS REALIZAR:Observación del paisaje, fotografía, hidroma-saje y tomar un baño.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:Para visitar el atractivo no se requiere de per-miso alguno.
OBSERVACIONES:Se recomienda llevar repelente, bloqueador solar, ropa de baño, cámara fotográfica y ali-mentación.
LOCATION OF THE TOURISTIC ATTRACTION:To get this place, follow the Gualaquiza-Chiguinda route, in the 10 Km. you will find a small route to Guabi Alto community, from there you can go by car for about 30 minutes.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Se encuentra a 3 horas a pie desde el sec-tor La Florida el mismo que se encuentra a 2 horas en carro desde Gualaquiza. Se debe tomar el camino que conduce a Ganazhuma, parroquia Amazonas.
PODEMOS REALIZAR:Observación de flora y fauna, fotografía, ca-minata.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:No existen restricciones, sin embargo se recomienda no arrojar desechos en los alre-dedores.
OBSERVACIONES:Llevar impermeables, botas de caucho, comi-da y cámara fotográfica.
LOCATION OF THE TOURISTIC ATTRACTION:It is located to 3 hours from La Florida which is located to 2 hours from Gualaquiza. You must take the route to Ganazhuma which belongs to the Amazonas parish.
WE CAN DO:Watching the flora and fauna, taking photos, trekking.
TOURISTIC FACILITIES:There are not touristic facilities, but there is a part of flat soil where you can go sleep, it is in front of the rainfall.
OBSERVATIONS:You can bring a raincoat, rubber boots, binoculars, fresh water, lunch and camera.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Se llega siguiendo la vía Gualaquiza -Chi-guinda; en el Km. 10 se encuentra un des-vío que conduce al centro de la comunidad Guaby Alto, desde este lugar inicia la cami-nata por el sendero que dura 2 horas hasta la cascada.PODEMOS REALIZAR:Observación de flora y fauna, fotografía, ca-minata, descender por el cañón, tomar un baño en la cascada y acampar.RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:Para visitar el atractivo no se requiere de per-miso alguno.OBSERVACIONES:Se recomienda llevar impermeable, botas de caucho, sleeping, carpa, repelente, bloquea-dor solar, ropa de baño, agua y refrigerio; contactarse con la unidad de turismo para obtener la ayuda de un guía local.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Al atractivo se ingresa por la vía Gualaquiza-San Juan Bosco, tomar el desvío a la derecha para luego acceder al sector La Dolorosa. Desde aquí inicia un sendero por el que se debe caminar 45 minutos hasta llegar a la caverna.
PODEMOS REALIZAR:En el lugar se puede realizar estudios geológicos y de mastofauna (estudios de murciélagos), exploración de la cueva, fotografía.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:Para visitar el atractivo no se requiere de permiso. Se debe llevar linterna, botas de caucho o zapatillas de lona, ropa extra y refrigerio; contactarse con la unidad de turismo para obtener la ayuda de un guía local.
LOCATION OF THE TOURISTIC ATTRACTION:To the attraction you can enter using the Gualaquiza-San Juan Bosco route, then you access to La Dolorosa place. From there, a path begins and you should follow it during 45 minutes until access to the cave.

El Remanso“El Remanso”
UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Vía Gualaquiza-Chigüinda Km 27.2, a 500 m. al norte del sector La Pradera. Entrada del sendero, a mano derecha. Recorrido a pie 5 minutos, río El Re-manso. PODEMOS REALIZAR:La gente local visita este lugar los fines de semana para tomar un baño y disfrutar de un momento de esparcimiento. En El Remanso se puede nadar y remar en pequeños botes, además es posible realizar actividades como obser-vación de aves, fotografía y caminatas por el bosque.OBSERVACIONES:Se recomienda llevar impermeable, botas de caucho, bloqueador solar y bi-noculares.
LOCATION OF THE TOURISTIC ATTRACTION:It is on Gualaquiza-Chigüinda route, 500 meters to the North of La Pradera community, its entrance is following the path to right hand. You have to walk for about 5 minutes to arrive to El Remanso River.WE CAN DO:The local people visit this place each weekend to take a bath and also to get entertainment, in the river you can swim and sail using small boats, also you can go watching birds, taking photos and trekking in the forest.RESTRICTIONS AND PERMISSIONS:The entrance is permanent and free.OBSERVATIONS:It is recommended to bring sun screen, rubber boots, raincoat and binoculars.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Se encuentra a 18 Km. de Gualaquiza. Para llegar hasta aquí se debe tomar la vía Gualaquiza-San Juan Bosco. En el kilómetro 16 existe un camino a mano derecha que conduce hasta la comunidad El Empalme: aquí inicia el sendero que conduce al encañonado.PODEMOS REALIZAR:Constituye un lugar natural muy atractivo para visitar. Se puede realizar actividades como escalada, canyoning, caminata, fotografía y observación de flora y fauna.RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:Acceso libre. Se recomienda para esta visita utilizar equipo apropiado y contactarse con la Unidad de Turismo para obtener la ayuda de un guía local.
LOCATION OF THE TOURISTIC ATTRACTION:It is located to 18 Km. from Gualaquiza. To get there you must take the Gualaquiza-San Juan Bosco route. In the 16 kilometer there is a detour to right hand which guides you to the El Empalme community. There is a path which guides you to the canyon begins.WE CAN DO:It constitutes a natural place very attractive to visit. There you can go trekking, canoeing, climbing, canyoning, photography and flora and fauna watching. RESTRICTIONS AND PERMISSIONS:To visit the touristic attraction you don’t need permissions. It is recommended to wear the appropriate equipment and it is necessary to contact to the Tourism Unit to get a local guide’s help.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Ubicado en el Sector El Sacramento, vía a Túmbez, a una distancia de 15 minutos en carro y 30 minutos a pie. En el lugar existe un letrero que indica la llegada y el acceso al lugar.
PODEMOS REALIZAR:El lugar es muy apto para realizar actividades como: observación de flora y fauna, fotogra-fía, tomar un baño. Aprovechando las casca-das se puede realizar la toma de fotografías.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:No existen restricciones. Tener cuidado al ca-minar por las rocas, ya que por su exposición al medio son muy resbalosas. Contactarse con la Unidad de Turismo de la Municipali-dad para obtener la ayuda de un guía local.
LOCATION OF THE TOURISTIC ATTRACTION:It is located in El Sacramento place, on the Túmbez way, to a distance of 10 minutes by car and 15 minutes walking. In that place there is a sign which indicates how to access to the place.
WE CAN DO:This place is able to do activities such as: Watching flora and fauna, photography, taking a bath in the pure and crystalline water, taking advantage of the rainfalls.
RESTRICTIONS AND PERMISSIONS:There are not restrictions. Be careful walking on the rocks, because of the weather exposition they are very slippery. Contact with the Tourism Unit to get local guide’s help.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:Se encuentra situado a 11 Km. de Gualaquiza siguiendo la vía que conduce a la comunidad El Guabi, 2 Km. antes de llegar al centro de este sector.PODEMOS REALIZAR:Actividades de recreación y pesca deportiva. En el sitio habitan personas que facilitan la utilización de sus instalaciones. El costo de tilapia es de $3 por libra.RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:Para visitar el atractivo se debe contactar con la gente de la comunidad quienes darán las facilidades necesarias. Llevar implementos necesarios para la pesca ya que en las cercanías no existe tiendas para proveerse; contactarse con la Unidad de Turismo para obtener la ayuda de un guía local.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:El lugar se encuentra en el Km. 7 de la vía Gualaquiza-Loja. Existe un desvío a mano izquierda por el que se debe acceder al lugar. Un pequeño sendero conduce al sitio de la Playa.
PODEMOS REALIZAR:Constituye un lugar de recreación sobre todo para la gente de la localidad que acude para disfrutar de un momento de entretenimiento familiar, natación, canotaje, regata y toma de fotografías.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:El lugar puede ser visitado permanentemente y la entrada es libre. Llevar ropa de baño, bloqueador solar y una buena cámara fotográfica.
LOCATION OF THE TOURISTIC ATTRACTION:The place is located on the seventh kilometer of Gualaquiza-Loja route. There is a detour to left hand where you can access to the place. A small path guides you to the place in the beach.
WE CAN DO: It constitutes an entertainment’s place mostly for the local people who come there to enjoy of a moment of familiar cheerfulness, swimming, canoeing, tubbing and taking photos.
RESTRICTIONS AND PERMISSIONS:This place could be visited permanently and the entrance is free. Bring a bath suit, sun screen and a good photographic camera.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:En la vía Gualaquiza-Chiguinda Km. 29.3 sector La Pradera en la unión de los ríos Remanso y San José.PODEMOS REALIZAR:Aunque este sitio no es muy conocido ni visitado, constituye una importante reserva histórica que guarda sin lugar a dudas datos de culturas que habitaron en este lugar hace miles de años. Su estudio es trascendental e inmediato, de esta forma se descubriría una gran parte del patrimonio cultural de esta parroquia, del cantón y del país.RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:No existen restricciones para fines de turismo y esparcimiento. Para la visita, contactar con el Presidente de la Junta Parroquial.
LOCATION OF THE TOURISTIC ATTRACTION:The tourist attraction is located on the Gualaquiza-Chiguinda route, to 29.3 kilometers from the Gualaquiza city, in la Pradera where the Remanso river joins to the San José river.WE CAN DO:Although this place is almost unknown, it constitutes an important historical reserve which keeps information about cultures which lived there thousands years ago. Its research is transcendental and immediate, to discover a big part of this community, city and country’s cultural heritage. RESTRICTIONS AND PERMISSIONS:There are not restrictions. UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:A 5 Km. del poblado La Florida, se puede acceder a pie por un sendero (1 hora).PODEMOS REALIZAR:Estudios de arqueología, ecoturismo, fotografía, vista panorámica, acampar y excursión.RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:No existen restricciones, pero es recomendable acudir a la Junta Parroquial de Nueva Tarqui, donde le proporcionarán información.OBSERVACIONES:En Gualaquiza se toma la ranchera (transporte típico) a Nueva Tarqui y La Florida, y a los 9 Km. desde la Parroquia Nueva Tarqui esta la entrada (a mano derecha), y se asciende a pie por 60 minutos hasta llegar al atractivo.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:A 0.5 Km. de la parroquia de San Miguel de Cuyes.PODEMOS REALIZAR:Estudio de Arqueología y Ecoturismo; además de disfrutar de los encantos naturales durante todo el recorrido se puede observar el cambio de vegetación, clima y paisaje de acuerdo al nivel del recorrido en que nos encontremos.RESTRICCIONES, PERMISOS Y OBSERVACIONES:No existen restricciones. Desde Gualaquiza se toma la ruta Gualaquiza-Sigsig-Ludo-Gima-Tambillo y Peñas Blancas, de 220 Km. de distancia. A partir de la “y” de Peñas Blancas se continua a pie o en acémila hasta la parroquia San Miguel de Cuyes que toma 2 horas y media aproximadamente. Desde la parroquia al atractivo se tarda 10 minutos.

UBICACIÓN DEL ATRACTIVO:El Atractivo se encuentra en la comunidad Ganazhuma, parroquia Amazonas. Existe un sendero de 2 Km. que conduce al lugar
PODEMOS REALIZAR:Observación y análisis de estructuras muy bien construidas, observación de flora y fauna, vista panorámica, fotografía, caminata.
RESTRICCIONES Y PERMISOS:No existen restricciones para fines de turismo y diversión.
OBSERVACIONES:Se recomienda llevar impermeable, botas de caucho, bloqueador solar, cámara fotográfica, repelente y binoculares.

WE CAN DO:Watching the very well built structures. Watching flora and fauna. Panoramic view. Photography, trekking.
RESTRICTIONS AND PERMISSIONS:Touristic facilities: in this place there is only one house which gives shelter just for 3 people; it has food’s service too.
OBSERVATIONS:It is recommended to bring sun screen, rubber boots, raincoat and binoculars.
