PRESENTATION

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to welcome you to the 10th Transport Engineering Conference (CIT2012) in Granada, Spain.

CIT2012 is the present edition of a series of conferences that periodically (biannually) brings together researchers, engineers, officials, technicians, faculty and students for the exchange, assessment, discussion and dissemination of experiences and results in the different transportation fields.

With a firm national and international vocation, CIT2012 has earned a solid reputation of being a well renowned forum of scientific discussion and advance that has helped to shape a broad body of knowledge in transportation engineering through the years.

The Conference is promoted by the Transportation Engineering Forum (FIT), a non-profit academic organization whose mission it is to convene the conference, set out the guidelines and oversee its quality. The Transportation Engineering Forum also promotes activities related to any scientific aspect of transportation engineering in Spain and abroad.

A total of 237 papers have been programmed for presentation at the Conference. Certainly, presentations and discussions will consolidate knowledge and bring out new ideas for improvements of all aspects of research, management and technical development in transportation engineering.

We would like to thank authors and delegates for taking their time to write and to share their knowledge through participation in CIT2012. Our recognition goes also to all those that have helped in the countless tasks that organizing a conference encompasses. Thanks are also due to the sponsoring companies and institutions, and exhibitors, for believing in CIT2012, and helping with their support and presence to make this conference a success.

Granada is a city full of flavour, the 15th century capital of the last Moorish kingdom in Europe. We are sure that you will enjoy its unique monumental and historic appeal.

PRESENTACIÓNEstimados colegas y amigos,

En nombre del Comité Organizador, nos complace darles la bienvenida al X Congreso de Ingeniería del Transporte (CIT2012) en Granada, España.

El CIT2012 es la presente edición de una serie de Congresos que cada dos años reúne a investigadores, ingenieros, responsables de la administración, técnicos, profesores y estudiantes universitarios para el intercambio, evaluación, discusión y difusión de experiencias y resultados en los distintos ámbitos del transporte.

Con una firme vocación nacional e internacional, el CIT ha alcanzado una sólida reputación y se le reconoce como un foro de renombre para la discusión y el avance científico, ayudando a lo largo de los años a dar forma a una amplia base de conocimiento en ingeniería del transporte.

El Congreso está promovido por el Foro de Ingeniería del Transporte (FIT), una organización académica sin ánimo de lucro cuya misión es convocar el Congreso, establecer las directrices y supervisar su calidad. El FIT también promueve actividades relacionadas con cualquier aspecto científico de la ingeniería del transporte en España y en el extranjero.

Se han programado 237 ponencias para su presentación en el Congreso. Ciertamente, estas presentaciones y discusiones posteriores contribuirán a consolidar el conocimiento y a aportar nuevas ideas para la mejora de todos los aspectos relacionados con el desarrollo de la investigación, gestión y la técnica en la ingeniería de transporte.

Nos gustaría agradecer a los autores y asistentes al congreso por el tiempo y esfuerzo dedicado a escribir y compartir sus conocimientos mediante su participación en el CIT2012. Nuestro reconocimiento va dirigido también a todos aquellos que han ayudado en la infinidad de tareas que la organización de un Congreso como éste supone. Gracias también a las empresas patrocinadoras, instituciones y a los expositores, por confiar en el CIT2012, y ayudar con su apoyo y presencia para que este Congreso sea un éxito.

Granada es una ciudad llena de encanto. Hasta el siglo XV fue la capital del último territorio musulmán en Europa. Este legado histórico ha dejado como testimonio un atractivo monumental único del cual esperamos que puedan disfrutar al máximo.

Por último, los organizadores deseamos que la edición del CIT2012 en Granada sea para los asistentes un encuentro fructífero y agradable, repleto de interesantes discusiones y eventos placenteros.

Para poder utilizar cualquier cuota de inscripción de estudiante es necesario aportar un certificado que acredite su condición de estudiante a tiempo completo.

NAME BADGE:Delegates are requested to wear their official indentification name tag at all time within the conference centre, and for lunches and social events (welcome cocktail at Palacio de los Córdova, visit to the Alhambra and conference dinner at Carmen de los Mártires).

WORKING LUNCHES:The registration fee includes lunches on Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 June. Lunches will be served in the Hotel Saray (c/ Profesor Tierno Galván, 4). Delegates are expected to make their own way on foot, a 2-minute walk from the Conference Centre.

WELCOME RECEPTION:The welcome cocktail will take place at 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday 20 June, in the Palacio de los Córdova (Cuesta del Chapiz, 2-4). Directions to Palacio de los Córdova (Cuesta del Chapiz, 4).- Walking (10 minutes from Plaza Nueva).- By bus: Line 31 (Stop Plaza Nueva).- By taxi.

VISIT TO THE ALHAMBRA:On Thursday 21st June, before the conference dinner, we will visit the Palacios Nazaries de la Alhambra. It will be an evening private visit. The cost is included in the registration fee. Delegates must confirm their attendance by 12.00 p.m. on Thursday 21 June at the latest.The transfer will be by bus. The buses departure time will be at 7.45 p.m. from the entrance of the Conference Centre. After this visit, the conference dinner will be served at the Carmen de los Mártires.

CONFERENCE DINNER:The conference dinner will be held on Thursday 21 June at the Carmen de los Mártires (Paseo de los Mártires s/n, Recinto de La Alhambra). The cost is included in the registration fee. Delegates must confirm their attendance by 12.00 p.m. on Thursday 21 June at the latest.Table bookings can be made when confirming attendance.

General Information

TECHNICAL EXHIBITION:A parallel Technical Exhibition, where institutions, companies and sponsors will be able to inform delegates about their contributions to the development of the Transport Industry. The exhibition, will be open on the first floor of the Conference Centre throughout the conference.

LANGUAGES:The official languages for presentations are Spanish and English. There will be no simultaneous translation in the conference rooms.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PRESENTATIONS:Attendees must upload their presentations in the “Computer room” (“Recepción de Ponencias” room in the map in page 16) at least one hour before the starting time of the scheduled session.

The maximum time allocated to each presentation is 15 minutes, including discussion time. Since every delegate will receive a copy of the Conference Proceedings, speakers should highlight in their presentation what they consider to be the most relevant aspects of their papers.

Any technical queries regarding the presentations during the Conference should be directed to the secretary desk.

EXPOSICIÓN TÉCNICA:Simultáneamente a la celebración del Congreso tendrá lugar una Exposición Técnica para que las instituciones, empresas y entidades patrocinadoras puedan difundir sus aportaciones al desarrollo del Sector del Transporte. Esta exposición se desarrollará en la planta 1 de la sede del Congreso.

IDIOMA:El idioma del Congreso para la presentación de las ponencias es el castellano y el inglés. No habrá traducción simultánea durante las sesiones.

INSTRUCCIONES PARA LA PRESENTACIÓN DE PONENCIAS:Los ponentes deberán cargar sus presentaciones con una antelación mínima de una hora al horario previsto para que comience su sesión en la sala de Recepción de Ponencias (véase plano en la página 16).

El tiempo máximo para la presentación oral de las ponencias será de 15 minutos, incluyendo el tiempo necesario para la realización del coloquio. Dado que los asistentes dispondrán de las Actas del Congreso, los ponentes deberán resaltar en su intervención aquellos aspectos que consideren más relevantes en sus trabajos.

Para cualquier consulta técnica durante el Congreso, relacionada con la presentación oral de las ponencias, los autores podrán dirigirse a la secretaría técnica.
