CASA SOLUTIONSI NTEGRATED FOOD GROW SYSTEMS FOR A CHA NG IN G WORLD

Author
This presentation presents the CASA Groups solution to sustainable food production. HydroHaus is brought to the forefront and is mentioned multiple times. Little is said about the other companies and their critical role in the design, construction and implementation of the food production system and its by-products and thier use. As a potential customer of CASA, after seeing this presentation I would conclude that I need to contact HydroHaus directly to implement a food production system. I think the presentation needs to be modified to put more emphasis on the CASA Group.

CASA STORY Collaborative Association for Sustainable Aguaculture CASA

The CASA Project started as an exercise in problem solving that addressed one issue in a specific region that desperately needed a solution. For the past four years the Clean Technology Trade Alliance (CTTA) has been researching agriculture, food security, the supply chain and looking into the silos of various technology, design and environmental approaches to verify a concept to reverse the issues that caused the condition of lost agriculture due to desertification in Chihuahua Mexico.

In developing the CASA solution, awareness grew of the universal global nature of this crisis. From the Americas to the Middle East and South Pacific, traditional agricultural thinking and the changing climate are creating serious challenges to food security and agriculture related economies.

CASA LEADERSHIPChris GielnikHydroHausEnvironment means many things but when needing a reliable environment for growing crops you need to take many climate related elements out of the equation while including many, many more. HydroHaus provides the container and management necessary for a stable and reliable grow platform.

Wayne EricksonHabitat ConstructionThe complexities of understanding the interconnections involved in designing, developing and implementing a multifaceted solution requires an extraordinary breadth of experience in a broad range of disciplines. A sustainable and resilient approach to building the CASA systems is a core need that Habitat Construction provides.

Julie EtraWestern Botanical Julie Etra took her passion for nature and her dislike of working in very structured environments and began doing the hands-on work needed to change the world. Working on both sides of the Mexican/U.S. border, she is making an impact far exceeding the size of her organization. Agriculture and reestablishing ecosystems are core CASA needs.

Jerry TraynhamAqueonicsWater is a core issue with all agriculture and a partner with the understanding and competency to design, plan and implement a wide range of water treatment, efficiency and recharge processes that can be customized for each engagement. With 40 years of beneficial reuse experience Aqueonics both pioneered and is perfecting the process.

EFFICIENT FOOD PRODUCTION1. There is a critical need to develop

secure efficient food production that understands water is a critical resource that needs to be conserved.

2. At the same time there is a need to create a profitable business model that can help regional economic resiliency.

RESOURCE MANAGEMENTWATER

The greenhouse sets the standard for greenhouse water management… plants transpire up to 98% of the water they consume, and that an average kilogram of biomass has transpired between 200 and 1,000 liters of water. Hydrohaus converts hot humid air into water that is cleaner than rain water.

The “Jetstream,” powered by fans, moves this hot humid air into the atmospheric water generator where it is condensed into reusable water. As condensation occurs, the air cools, and if sensors detect low levels of carbon dioxide, carbon dioxide is injected into the air that will be delivered to the plant canopy.

ENERGY Geothermal heating, cooling and dehumidification

systems are an efficient and clean way to harness the environmentally friendly, renewable heat energy from what already exists in the Earth. This energy is used to keep the greenhouse temperature and humidity regulated on a year-round basis.

Subterranean tanks can store collected rainwater and Dynamic Foam Solution, both of which can be used to store solar gain collected throughout the day.

The greenhouse system has a controlled, cool temperature because of its highly efficient BubbleTech and Liquid Curtain technology that operates within the building envelope system

DENSITY THE RIGHT WAY Greenhouse profitability is governed by yield. As a result, CASA focuses on growing more produce, faster, and with increased biomass.

This is accomplished by growing fresh produce in multiple layers, to increase the number of plants in the greenhouse. Adding all the fertigation and mineral nutrients plants need, and making them bioavailable ensures the plants stay healthy and tasty.

This is accomplished by: Integrated design systems to maximize plant density while maximizing labor efficiency. Adding supplemental lighting Providing carbon dioxide for productive photosynthesis. Providing supplemental oxygen for plant metabolism and biomass. Pressurized greenhouse controls pests and pathogens. Produces certifiable organic produce

Author
Is "Keeping roots in the dark" needed? "providing" the "p" needs to be Capitalized
Author
Cahnge the last bullet to: "HydroHaus is a sealed, pressurized greenhouse that excludes pest and diseases and aovids the use of chemical controls."
Author
add this bullet: "HydroHaus immediately produces organically ertifiable produce."
