The selected figure for the covert gasket calculation is, figure (k) C=0.3 for circular andnoncircular covers bolted with a full-face gasket, to shells, flanges or side plates:

(a) The minimum thickness of unstayed flat heads,cover plates and blind flangesshall conform to therequirements given in this paragraph. These requirements applyto both circular and noncircular heads and covers.Some acceptable types of flatheads and covers are shown in Fig. UG-34. In this figure, the dimensions of thecomponent parts and the dimensions of the welds are exclusive of extra metalrequired for corrosion allowance.
