“Better to do something imperfectly than to do nothing flawlessly!” ... “Rejoice in the Lord always!” is the theme of this Third Sunday of Advent, traditionally called Gaudete Sunday. Pope Francis inaugurated the Jubilee Year of Mercy on Tuesday (8), the feast of the Immaculate Conception. “This extraordinary year is a gift of grace! It is He who comes to encounter us! This will be a year in which we will grow even more convinced of God’s mercy!” ... Congratulations to our neighbor, Saint Thomas More, Oceanside, and their Pastor, Father Mike Ratajczak, formerly an Associate here at Saint John, on the dedication of their new church building this coming Wednesday (16).
