Día familiar – 7 de junio

Como ya les comunicamos vía email, la APAFA, en conjunto con

el Colegio, viene organizando el Día Familiar de Ausangate Bilin-

gual School. El objetivo de esta actividad es ofrecer un espacio

de recreación y socialización. La actividad será el sábado 7 DE

JUNIO de 10.00 a.m. a 4.00 p.m. en el local del Colegio (Santa

María). Los representantes de cada grado se están organizando

para tener a la venta comida y bebidas y los profesores del Cole-

gio organizarán juegos para las familias de cada grado y tam-

bién se encargarán de la Tómbola.

Es muy importante que todas las familias asistan. Les recordamos

que no se puede fumar ni traer bebidas alcohólicas.

Los representantes de aula les informarán sobre las responsabili-

dades de cada grado, y les indicarán lo que corresponde a ca-

da familia. Sin embargo, les hacemos llegar algunos acuerdos ya

tomados para que los tengan presentes:

Cada grado tiene un color y se pide que los alumnos (y de ser

posible las familias) vengan con el color correspondiente. (Ver

tabla anexa).

Cada niño/a deberá traer algo para la

Tómbola, es decir un juguete, regalo,

adorno, etc. para que se incluya en el

juego (se recomienda que sea atractivo

para niños y jóvenes). No hay monto

mínimo. Deben ser entregados a sus tu-

tores antes del martes, 3 de junio.

Invitamos a quienes quieran compartir

un número musical o artístico (no presen-

tación de mascotas) que nos lo informen

a través de secretaría antes del martes,

3 de junio para poder darles un espacio

en el día. Pueden ser los padres de fami-

lia, grupos de alumnos o invitados.

Esperamos contar con la participación de

todos y todas, nos divertiremos mucho.

Entrega de libretas

Este trimestre se entregarán libretas el 16, 17, y 18 de junio. Pero

los alumnos de secundaria tendrán clases el 16 y 17. Sola-

mente no habrán clases el miércoles, 18 de junio. Cada

tutor se reunirá con cada familia para entregar libretas del

primer trimestre. Como son reuniones tripartitas, las familias

deben venir con su hijo/a para la reunión. Informaremos

sobre el horario de estas reuniones la primera semana de

junio.

Agradecimiento por donación especial

Esta semana recibimos una donación muy especial de un mara-

villoso libro que se titual “Vida: Animales Extraordinarios, Conduc-

tas Extremas” autografiado por su autora Martha Holmes, madre

de Zu y Titus MacDermot que fueron parte de Ausangate Bilingual

School en 2012. Este libro, un volume que acompaña la serie Life

de Discovery Channel/BBC de la cual ella es la productora, narra

la historia de sobrevivencia y las asombrosas conductas que los

animales y las plantas adoptan para seguir vivos y pasar sus ge-

nes a una nueva generación y que incluye más de 300 fotograf-

ías a color en alta definición. Es un libro muy bonito que segura-

mente sera una importante fuente para los alumnos en sus unida-

des de indagación. Muhcas gracias Martha, igualmente gracias

a la familia Cripps por hacernos llegar este libro.

Family Day

As we mentioned via email, the APAFA parent association

in conjunction with the school is organizing Family Day at

Ausangate Bilingual School for fun and socialization. The

event will be on Saturday, June 7th from 10:00am – 4:00pm

at the school’s main campus in Santa Maria. The parent

representatives from each grade are organizing to sell food

and drinks and the teachers are organizing games for fami-

lies to play with each grade and the ”Tómbola” activity.

It is very important that all families attend. Please remem-

ber that smoking and alcohol are prohibited.

The parent representatives will let the other parents know

the grade and each family’s responsibilities. The following

are some of the agreements made to keep in mind:

Students and their families (when possible) should wear

their class color. See the table for specific information.

Each child must bring a prize for the “Tómbola” such as a

toy, gift, decoration, etc to be included in the game.

(Ideally the prize should be

something attractive to chil-

dren.) There is no minimum

value required. They should

be given to the student’s

tutor by Tuesday, June 3rd.

Parents, students and/or

their guests are invited to

sign up to perform a musi-

cal or artistic number (no

pets) with the secretary by

Tuesday, June 3rd in order to

reserve a time slot.

We hope to see everyone

there. We’ll have a lot of

fun!

Report Card Meetings

This trimester we will have report card meetings on June

16, 17, and 18. However, secondary students will have

classes on June 16 and 17. The only day there will not be

class is June 18. Each “tutor” will meet with each family

about the first term report card in a three-way meeting

so families must come with their child to the meeting.

We will let each family know what time their meeting is

the first week of June.

Special Donation Thank You

This week we received a very special donation of a won-

derful book called “Vida: Animales Extraordinarios, Conduc-

tas Extremas” autographed by the author Martha Holmes,

mother of Zu and Titus MacDermot who attended Ausan-

gate Bilingual School in 2012. This book, a companion vol-

ume to the Discovery Channel/BBC series Life of which she is

the producer, tells the story of survival and of the amazing

behaviors animals and plants adopt to stay alive and pass

their genes to a new generation that includes more than

300 high-definition color photographs. It is a beautiful book

that will surely become an important resource to students in

their inquiry units. Thank you very much Martha as well as

the Cripps family for getting it to us.

Permisos para salir del Colegio

Como todos ustedes saben, la principal preocupación de Ausan-

gate Bilingual School, es la seguridad de nuestros alumnos/as, es

por ello que somos muy estrictos en temas como autorizaciones

para salir de paseo y permisos en el cuaderno de comunicados

para que otra persona ajena a la familia saque a su hijo/a del

Colegio.

Es por esta razón que debemos recordarles que es obligatorio

enviar una nota en el cuaderno de comunicados o llamar a Se-

cretaría e informar acerca de los cambios en la rutina de recojo

de su hijo/a, de otro modo, no lo/la dejaremos salir del Colegio.

Agradeceremos tomar en cuenta esta información para evitar

molestias.

Ingreso al Colegio

Les recordamos que, tanto a la hora de entrada, como a la hora

de salida, los autos y taxis deberán estacionarse en la pista asfal-

tada y entraremos caminando a partir de la reja exterior. Quere-

mos hacer hincapié especial en el respeto que les debemos a

nuestros vecinos/as y no dejar los autos estacionados en la entra-

da de las casas cercanas al Colegio. Es nuestro interés generar un

ambiente más seguro para la circulación de nuestros niños/as,

pero también dar un excelente ejemplo de consideración y res-

peto en el vecindario. POR FAVOR, RECUERDEN QUE LOS ALUM-

NOS/AS RECIÉN PUEDEN INGRESAR AL COLEGIO A PARTIR DE LAS

8:00AM Y NO ANTES.

Tomatodos

No queremos dejar de recordarles que es importante enviar to-

matodos o botellas para que los niños/as puedan llenarlos con

agua de los bidones durante el horario escolar. El colegio no ofre-

ce vasos por medidas de higiene. Muchas gracias por su coope-

ración.

Préstamos de Biblioteca

Recuerden que, para poder acceder a este servicio, deben

haber firmado el Compromiso de Uso de la Biblioteca entregado

durante las entrevistas con padres. Si no tuvieran esa información

a la mano, por favor solicitarla al/la profe de su hijo/a. ¡Esperamos

que nuestros alumnos/as puedan usar la Biblioteca al máximo

este año!

Uso de gorros y bloqueadores

Es obligatorio que nuestros alumnos y alumnas usen gorros y blo-

queadores durante las horas en que están expuestos al sol. Les

agradeceremos cumplir con esta norma y conversar con sus hijos/

as para que las respeten.

Authorization to Leave School

As you know, our main concern at Ausangate Bilingual

School is the safety of our children. Consequently we have

a very strict policy about signing permission slips to go on a

field trip and notes in the communication book authorizing

a third party to pick your child up from school.

Please remember that you must send a note in the com-

munication book or call the main office if you would like

your child to go home a different way than usual. Without

a note or a call to the school, we will not be able to let

your child leave. Thank you for keeping this policy in mind.

Arrival at School

Remember that during the arrival and dismissal time, we

ask those who come in their own cars to park beyond the

outside gate, on the asphalt road – not in the dirt road

directly in front of the school. We would like to also make

a special request to not leave cars blocking the entrances

of our neighbors. This helps provide a safer environment for

the children and show consideration and respect for our

neighbors. Please remember that children cannot enter

the school until 8:00am and not before.

Water Bottles

Please remember to send water bottles which the students

can refill with water from our large water coolers. For hygi-

enic reasons, the school does not provide the students

with cups. Thank you for your understanding.

Borrowing from the Library

In order to borrow books from the library, you must have

signed the library form distributed during Parent-Teacher

interviews. Please ask your child’s teacher through the

communication book if you need this form. We look for-

ward to our students using the library a great deal this

year!

Use of Hats and Sunblock

It is mandatory for students to use hats and sunblock when

they are exposed to the sun. Thank you for following this

rule and talking with your children about respecting it.
