ACTIVIDADES DUKE IN MADRID
HASTA EL 14 DE FEBRERO- CINE ESPAÑOL, NOMINADOS A LOS PREMIOS GOYA 2016. SALA BERLANGA
VÁLIDO PARA EL PASAPORTE CULTURAL
El próximo 6 de febrero tendrá lugar la 30 Edición de los Premios Goya del Cine Español (nuestros Oscar), por ello la Sala Berlanga dedica un ciclo especial para proyectar una selección de las películas que han sido nominadas para los premios Goya de este año.
El programa Duke in Madrid os propone dar por válida para el pasaporte cultural la asistencia a la proyección de UNA de las siguientes películas:
1. Truman, de Cesc Gay2. Techo y Comida, de Juan Miguel del Castillo3. Nadie quiere la noche, de Isabel Coixet4. Chicas nuevas 24 horas, de Mabel Lozano (documental)

La entrada cuesta 3 euros y el programa os la reembolsará siempre y cuando traigáis la entrada física (no ticket-no money) antes del 17 de febrero .

AVISOS
1. 2 FEBRERO -ÚLTIMO DÍA PARA CAMBIOS EN LA MATRÍCULA DE LOS CURSOS DE GRADO DE LA UNIVERSIDAD CARLOS III. Os recordamos que mañana, hasta las 5pm, es el ultimo día para hacer cambios en la matrícula de los cursos de Grado de UC3M. Una vez pasado este día no se podrán hacer cambios en la matrícula
2. FINAL REGISTRATION DUKE- 3 FEBRERO- 5PM. Como ya os informamos en la orientación, una vez realizada la matrícula en la UC3M, tenemos que hacer un “final registration” para Duke con los 4 cursos que vais a tomar aquí en Madrid. Para ello os hemos enviado un email con las instrucciones y los formularios que debéis rellenar. La fecha límite (deadline) para entregar esos formularios es el miércoles 3 de febrero hasta las 5pm.
3. 8 DE FEBRERO DÍA NO LECTIVO EN MADRID. EL CENTRO DIM permanecerá cerrado, por lo tanto, no habrá clases de signature courses. En la UC3M SÍ habrá clases en el horario habitual
4. ACTIVIDADES CULTURALES CARLOS III- Enviadme un email a [email protected] antes del lunes 8 de febrero con las actividades que os interesan y la fecha en la que podéis asistir para consultar con la coordinadora de espacio estudiantes si hay plazas libres. REGISTRO VIAJES-VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION: For safety reasons, Duke in Madrid students are encouraged to register their travel plans when leaving Madrid for more than 24 hours and DIM students are required to register their trips when traveling outside of Spain. The Registry will be the first source of information to be consulted in case of a health emergency, natural disaster, or a crisis of civil or political unrest in a location that requires assistance or evacuation. Also, in the past, for example, we helped your parents when they tried to locate a student for an emergency in his/her own family so, in brief, please help us to help you.

2. Name of your hotel / hostal or the place you are staying (if you are staying at a friend’s house, please write his/her name and address as well. Please include the full information on hotel (name, address, phone, city, country...)
3. Please do not write your cell phone number, it is unnecessary. We have it in our records and please notice that the cellphone may not work outside of Spain even if you set up a roaming service. Please write the phone number of the hotel or of your friend in the city you are visiting.
4. Please indicate the dates of your trip and include info on your flights.

Please do not send this travel registry info directly to DIM staff regular mailing address since we have an specific mailing address [email protected] that may be checked by any of DIM staff and/or Global Education Office at Duke University. It is always advisable that you share your travel info with your host-family. Please keep in mind that all of us (host-families, DIM staff, your parents, friends…) are concerned about your safety. We will only contact you in case of emergency
6. Please remember that it is mandatory to register any trip outside of Spain for all the DIM participants for your safety.

EXPOSICIÓN ARTE MODERNO EN PALACIO- PALACIO REAL, hasta el 29 de febrero
Una exposición que recoge obras maestras contemporáneas de las colecciones reales que no han sido expuestas nunca íntegramente, de artistas como Manuel Miralles, Martín Chirino, Eduardo Arroyo, Juan Genovés o Miguel Barceló, entre otros.

CICLO DE CINE DE ANIMACIÓN EN LA CASA ENCENDIDA: “Del trazo al píxel. Cien años de animación española” Del 9 al 28 de febrero.
Películas como Chico y Rita (Javier Mariscal, Fernando Trueba y Tono Errando, 2010), Las aventuras de Tadeo Jones (Enrique Gato, 2012) o Pos Eso (Sam, 2014) han colocado la animación española en el mapa internacional, si bien estos ejemplos son solamente la punta del iceberg de años de talento y empeño por crear arte e industria, a veces contra viento y marea.
El ciclo incluye piezas históricas (desde 1908 hasta el fin de la dictadura en 1975) y cortometrajes contemporáneos (de 1975 hasta nuestros días). Para ello se han restaurado y digitalizado obras que eran “invisibles” o de difícil acceso hasta ahora.

Más de 200 comercios del Barrio de las Letras abren sus puertas de manera ininterrumpida todos los primeros sábados de mes, excepto en agosto, para mostrar sus ofertas comerciales, turísticas, gastronómicas, de moda, decoración y culturales a los visitantes.
Este mercado, que debe su nombre a la gran cantidad de ranas que poblaban el huerto del convento de Los Jerónimos en el siglo XVII, intenta emular a los existentes en ciudades como Londres (Portobello Road), París (Mercado de las pulgas) o
Nueva York (Soho Antiques Fair).
