CAPITAL CAMPAIGN/ CAMPAÑA CAPITAL One Family, One Purpose / Una Familia, Un Proposito
During the planning study, many people shared their desire to serve during our campaign. Now, as we continue to prepare our campaign, it is very moving to see the response of so many parishioners who have joined our campaign committees. Thank you! We truly are One Family, One Purpose.
Our Capital Campaign will not only helps us to prepare our Church facilities to better serve all those who seek God in Alvin, but it will also help us to grow as one family, one body in Christ.
During these holy days, we invite you to join our campaign by: 1) praying for the many volunteers who are working hard preparing all that is needed to have a successful campaign. Our Capital Campaign prayer cards are in the pews in Spanish and English, as well as online on our website www.stjohnalvin.org; 2) learning more about our campaign by visiting our website and watching some of the shorts videos that Don Rabalais has kindly produced to educate us on the reasons behind this campaign, (those videos are only available in English, more will be posted in Spanish soon); 3) discerning in prayer and talking to your family about the many blessings you have received as members of this parish family. CDA Scholarships: Local Catholic Daughters court #2073 is offering ~Two $500.00 scholarships to 2017 graduating seniors who are the child or grandchild of a current CDA member of Court #2073. ~ One Catholic School Pre-K through senior year schol-arship for $250.00 is available to members of St. John’s or Sacred Heart in Manvel. The deadline for both applications is April 28, 2017. National Court Scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 are being offered to two students entering the 9th grade in a Catholic High School in the fall of 2017 and three for graduate level students. Jr. High Catholic Boot Camp - We will be joining St. Michael's in Lake Jackson on May the 6th,, from 10 am - 5 pm. The day will include fun, food, fellowship, prayer, as well as a few obstacles. The cost is what ever donation you wish to make. Your catechist will have the registration forms. This year the Jr. High Extreme Challenge will be held at St. Bernadette's. This fun, team building day will be April 29th from 10 am - 4 pm. The cost will be $25.00 and you will receive more information from your catechist.
