Population Model

Population density of an area summarizes the extent of

everyday needs of the people of that area. Densely populated

areas are often potential markets for all kinds of

businesses. We are capturing the densely populated areas as potential locations for the mall.

Urban Sprawl Model

Urban Sprawl model indicates the growing areas of the city. We

are looking for areas with high commercial activity and

moderate to high population density to maximize customer

latency and profits.

Major Road Model

Malls are often constructed on major roads of the city to increase

ease of accessibility and avoid traffic congestion. Factors

determining major roads are - road width, connectivity, traffic

flow, etc.

Existing Malls

Businesses should be spread uniformly to increase

throughput and productivity. We will try to create buffer areas

around malls and these buffer areas will be excluded from

potential areas.

Open Spaces Model

Open spaces consists of all areas where buildings can be

constructed.

Web-GIS Approach

Since there are many user-defined parameters set for analysis, we could use them in a Web-GIS, where the user will set different parameters and accordingly the results will be displayed.
