De su rica gastronomía destacan los platos realizados con los productos que dala tierra, así como su extraordinaria riqueza en caza mayor y menor. La carne devenado, la de conejo, muy presente en la cocina de la localidad, o losinolvidables chicharrones sobresalen por su preparación. Respecto a losalimentos de la huerta, variados y sabrosos, se preparan excepcionalmente enjugosos gazpachos y ajos calientes. La situación geográfica permite ademáscontar con verdes valles y prados donde, dependiendo de la época del año,encontraremos rabanitos o espárragos trigueros, así como los típicos caracoles.
The most noteworthy dishes of its delicious cuisine are prepared using ingredients fromthe land, and the extraordinary variety of large and small game in the area. Venison andrabbit are frequently part of local meals, along with the unforgettably tasty local porkscratching prepared. The fields provide prime materials, which are varied and tasty, for avariety of dishes, including juicy gazpachos and ajo caliente (a typical wintertimespeciality made with green pepper, garlic, tomatoes, orange juice and bread). Thegeographical location with its green fields and valleys means that at certain times of yearwild asparagus and radishes can be found, and the typical local snails can be picked.

Ubicado entre la campiña y la sierra, participa igualmente de lascaracterísticas propias de los dos ambientes. Puerta de entrada al ParqueNatural de los Alcornocales, conserva un patrimonio ambiental y etnográficoimportante, así como grandes reservas de agua en los embalses deGuadalcacín y Los Hurones. Todos ellos son sitios ideales para pasear a pie, acaballo, en bicicleta o motocicleta, cualquier medio de locomoción esadecuado para disfrutar del paisaje. Los amantes de la pesca encontrarán unlugar idoneo en los margenes del embalse de Guadalcacín.
Situated between the countryside and the mountains, the town hasfeatures of both types of environment. It is the gateway to the AlcornocalesNature Park, where its valuable environmental and ethnological heritageare conserved, as well as its important water reserves in the shape of theGuadalcacín and Los Hurones reservoirs. All these are perfect places forstrolling, horse riding, cycling or motorcycling… any form of transportsuitable for enjoying the scenery. The shores of the Guadalcacín reservoirare also good waters for fishing.

Angler finden am StauseeGuadalcacín ideale Bedingungen.
De su rico patrimonio destacamos dos monumentos fundamentales: el Castillode Gigonza y el nacimiento de aguas del Tempul. El primero es uno de losmejores conservados de la zona y, aunque se trata de una fortificación medieval,en su lugar estuvo enclavada la ciudad de Saguntia, fundada por los turdetanosy anexionada a Roma, llegando a su máximo apogeo en la época visigoda. Muycerca de allí encontramos el nacimiento de agua del Tempul, cuyas obras deexplotación comenzaron, a la vez que la construcción del acueducto, en 1864,ante los problemas de abastecimiento de Jerez de la Frontera.
The two most important monuments in its rich heritage are: GigonzaCastle and the source of the waters of Tempul. The former is one of thebest preserved in the area and, although the fortress is Medieval, itstands on what was once the city of Saguntia, founded by theTurdetanes and annexed by Rome, reaching its peak during the Visigothperiod. Very nearby, you will find the source of the waters of Tempul. In1864, work began to harness the spring waters and build an aqueductto relieve Jerez de la Frontera's water supply problems.
Von seinen zahlreichen Sehenswürdigkeiten sind besonders zwei hervorheben:das Schloss Castillo de Gigonza und der Ursprung der Quelle von Tempul. DasSchloss ist eines der am besten erhaltenen der Gegend. Es handelt sich um einemittelalterliche Befestigungsanlage, an deren Ort zuvor die Stadt Saguntia exis-tierte, gegründet von den Turdetanern, einem vorrömischen Volk auf der iberischenHalbinsel. Sie wurde später ins römische Reich integriert und gelangte später un-ter westgotischer Herrschaft zur Blüte. Ganz in der Nähe entspringt die Quelle Tem-pul. Auf Grund der Versorgungsprobleme von Jerez de la Frontera wurde im Jahr1864 mit der Nutzung der Quelle sowie mit dem Bau des Aquädukts begonnen.
El calendario festivo de la ciudad comienza en marzo con la romería dedicada a SanJosé, patrón de la localidad. Poco después se celebra el Día de la Independencia,recordando la fecha del 1 de abril de 1995 en que el municipio dejó de pertenecera Jerez de la Frontera. Pero la más popular llega en el mes de mayo con la feria, quesuele tener una duración de cuatro días, organizándose muchísimas actividadesentre las que cabe destacar el Concurso Morfológico Caballar, el día de los mayores,degustaciones, concursos gastronómicos, conciertos y espectáculos taurinos. En lasegunda semana de agosto tiene lugar la Romería de San José del Valle.
The town's festival year begins in March with a pilgrimage in honour of San José,the town's patron saint. Not long afterwards, Independence Day is celebrated,remembering the 1 April 1995 when the town gained its independence from Jerezde la Frontera. The year's most popular festival is the May fair, which usually lastsfour days. Many activities are organised, some of the most important of which arethe Concurso Morfológico Caballar (Horse Competition), elderly person's day,food tasting and cooking competitions, concerts and bull shows, etc. The SanJosé del Valle pilgrimage takes place the second week of August.

Es findet im Mai statt und dauert etwa vierTage. Dabei werden zahlreiche Veranstaltungen abgehalten, unter denen derPferdewettbewerb Concurso Morfológico Caballar hervorzuheben ist. Außerdem gibt eseinen Seniorentag, Verkostungen, Kochwettbewerbe, Konzerte, Stierkämpfe und vielesmehr. In der zweiten Augustwoche findet die Wallfahrt von San José del Valle statt.
The history of San José del Valledates back to the Moorish era, al-though this was not the only cultu-re to settle on its land. TheTartesians and Phoenicians alsospent time in this part of what isnow the municipal corporation ofLa Janda. Its history began whenthe Moors created the first defensi-ve location, Hisn Tabul, built on anancient Roman site. Conquered bythe Christians at the beginning ofthe 14th century, the castle and themunicipal area of Tempul were la-ter given to the region of Jerez byRoyal Privilege in 1333, becomingpart of the historical and culturalheritage to the benefit of the area.

Some of the interesting itine-raries are: the Baths Route, the MillsRoute, Charco de los Hurones, theBull Route, Descansaderos and theWhite Towns Route.
With a wealth of varied local dishesusing local produce, lovers of goodfood will enjoy wild asparagus, so-pa cortijera (garlic, bread, hamand poached egg), stewed broadbeans, snails, venison pork deriva-tives and the traditional chicharro-nes, small pieces of fried fat.

Los orígenes de San José del Vallese remontan a la época musulma-na, aunque no fue la única culturaque pobló sus tierras, tartesos y fe-nicios también se dieron cita en es-ta localidad de la mancomunidadde La Janda. Su historia comienzacon los moriscos, creadores delemplazamiento defensivo de HisnTabul, asentado en un antiguo do-blamiento romano. Conquistado aprincipios del siglo XIV por los cris-tianos, el castillo y el término muni-cipal de Tempul fueron cedidos
posteriormente a la región de Jerezpor el Privilegio Real de 1333, pa-sando a formar parte del patrimo-nio histórico y cultural en funciónde los intereses de la comarca.
