    Recetas Tupperware para el microondas

    Apple Streusel

    Ingredients

      * 1 apple  * 1 Tbsp. flour  * 1 Tbsp. brown sugar  * 1 Tbsp. margarine  * 1 Tbsp. Oatmeal  * 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk

    1. Peel and slice apple in Small Tupperware Rock 'N Serve Container.2. Mix together remaining ingredients and sprinkle on apple.3. Microwave 2 minutes (_____) at 100% power, covered and vented.

    Chicken Fajitas

    Ingredients

      * 1 lb. boneless, skinless Chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces  * 1 red pepper, chopped  * 1 green pepper, chopped  * 1 large onion, chopped  * 1 clove minced garlic or ½ tsp. garlic powder  * 1 small jar salsa or picante sauce  * flour tortillas  * Toppings: Sour Cream, Grated Cheddar Cheese, Shredded Lettuce, Guacamole

    1. Place chicken, red pepper, green pepper, onion and garlic in Tupperware

    Microsteamer, and stir. Add salsa to mixture and stir. Cover.2. Cover and microwave 8 minutes (_____) at 80% power.3. Stir, making sure to bring chicken from center to the outside. Microwave and additional 5 minutes (_____) at 80% power, or until chicken is no longer pink when cut.4. Place rolled up tortillas in colander and microwave 1 minute (_____) at100% power.5. Serve chicken mixture over tortillas. Add toppings to taste.

    Microwave Hotdogs

    You will need:1:Frozen Hotdogs.2:Plastic cup (large/tall).3:Plastic wrap.

    1:Drop your hotdog(s) into the cup and completely submerge in water.2:Cover the top with plastic wrap.

    3:Cook on high for 2 minutes 22 seconds (for one).

    If you add additional hotdogs then follow this simple formula.1 = 2:22 minutes2 = 3:33 minutes3 = 4:44 minutes4 = 5:55 minutes5 = I have not tried over 4 and have seen the formula for 4 boil the water overthe top. You may need a larger cup for numbers over 4 to prevent that phenomenon.

    The plastic wrap is key to keeping parts of the dogs from getting dried out.Remember that anything you cover with plastic will be extremely hot when you take the wrap off. The steam could burn you, proceed with caution.

    Hamburgers in the Microwave

    Needed:1:Get yourself a Microwave Bacon dish that drains the fat off for you (cheap and essential). Or you can use a glass microwave safe plate.2: Get one of those microwave plastic plate covers (the one I use has vents in t

    he top.)

    1: Thaw your hamburger or get your pre-made patties out of the freezer.2: Make your hamburger patties in your usual manor.3: If your dealing with thawed meat take a spoon and make the center of the burger patties thinner than the outside.4: Space out your patties on your plate and season them (I use seasoned meat tenderizer). If your dealing with frozen patties then seasoning after the first 2 minutes may yield better results.5: Place your cover over the plate and microwave for 2 minutes.6: Take out of the Microwave and drain the grease.7: Continue to cook covered at 1 minute intervals until your burgers are no longer pink, drain grease as needed.

    8: Once they are finished, drain grease, apply your cheese, recover, and microwave for 20 seconds.9: Remove with a fork and place on bread of choice.

    Rosemary PotatoesServings: 4

    1 tablespoon butter

    1 teaspoon bottled minced garlic1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed1/2 teaspoon kosher salt1/4 teaspoon black pepper1 1/2 pounds red potatoes, quartered (about 4 cups)

    Place butter and garlic in an 8-inch square baking dish. Microwave at medium high (70% power) 45 seconds or until butter melts. Add rosemary, salt, pepper and potatoes; toss well. Cover and microwave at high for 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

    This is an awesome side dish! One of my favorites.

    Broccoli

    On Page 85 of Microwave Cooking for One, you'll find the recipe for 2-Ounces ofBroccoli. If your goal is to cook 1 pound of Broccoli in the microwave, then you would multiply the recipe and cooking times by 8.

    Broccoli

    2 oz. fresh broccoli1 tsp. water1/8 tsp. salt1 tsp. lemon juice or butter

    Wash broccoli and cut into flowerets. Put pieces into 1 1/2-pint Menu-ette. Sprinkle broccoli with water. Cover Menu-ette with lid. Cook 2 minutes at 100% power. Set aside until resto fo meal is prepared.

    Final preparation: Sprinkle broccoli with salt and lemon juice. Cook 30 secondsat 100% power to heat before serving.

    For a pound of broccoli you would use a larger container, and 8 tsp. of water. In a 700-watt oven, you would cook 16 minutes. Of course, using the 1000-Watt Conversion Chart, you would add the 10 minute converion (7 minutes) plus 6 minute conversion (4:12) to calculate that you would cook a pound of broccoli 11:12 in your 1000-watt oven.

    You don't use nearly as much water (8 tsp. compared to 1 1/4 cup) because the microwaves are not only attracted to the water you add to the cooking utensil, but also the water molecules already in the chemical makeup of the broccoli.

    I don't have a microwave steamer, so I don't have ready access to the instructions on how they are used. I'm just guessing that you boil the water to create steam, and then add the vegetables? If this is the case, it seems that this is just

     mimicking conventional steaming. But, the important point is that you are not immersing the vegetables in water and washing away important nutrients.

    Tips for cooking rice in microwave

    Purchase minute rice. Put equal parts of rice and water in a glass casserole ordish (with lid). One cup of rice and one cup of water feeds two people. Multiply recipe for additional servings. Stir and cover. Microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes. Remove from microwave. Stir. Replace cover. Let stand for 3-5 minutes before serving.

    Pasta in the Microwave

    Since Mom was of Italian heritage, pasta was a regular weekly meal in our home when I was growing up. It seems to be a popular meal in many American homes, based upon the numerous emails I've received asking how to cook it in the microwave. It has reached the point where it is much simpler for me to provide this information for everybody, instead of answering requests individually, so here are the instructions for cooking pasta in the microwave from Microwave Cooking for Oneby Marie T Smith.

    Method 1: Small Macaroni

    To cook small macaroni (elbow, rotelle, ziti, etc.):

    1 cup water

    ¼ tsp. salt

    ¼. vegetable oil

    Pour water into 1½-quart Corning Ware pot. Cook 2:30 minutes (_____) at 100% power until water boils. Add salt and oil to water and stir. 2 oz. macaroni Spread out macaroni in pot. Cook 12 minutes (_____) at 50% power until water isabsorbed. Place on plate, top with your favorite sauce, and serve.     To cook long macaroni (linguine, spaghetti, vermicelli, etc.):

    2 cups water

    ¼ tsp. salt

    ¼. vegetable oil

    Pour water into 1½-quart Corning Ware pot. Cook 5:00 minutes (_____) at 100% power until water boils. Add salt and oil to water and stir. 2 oz. macaroni

    Place macaroni in pot. Ends will stick out of pot. Cook 1 minute (_____) at 100% power. The macaroni in the water will have softened. Push exposed ends down into pot. Cook 1 minute (_____) at 100% power. Stir macaroni with fork, making sure

     all of it is covered by water. Cook 6 minutes (_____) [8 minutes (_____)] for spaghetti) at 50% power until macaroni is done. Drain macaroni in strainer. Place on plate, top with your favorite sauce, and serve.     Creamy Macaroni & Cheese

      * 4 cups cooked egg noodles (2 cups uncooked  microwave recipe)  * 2/3 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

    Tupperware Oval MicrowaveCooker & Cooking Rack

    1. Microwave processed cheese for 2½ minutes in the Base of the Tupperware Oval Microwave Cooker.2. Stir in butter and elbow macaroni with spatula, then sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.3. Cover and microwave for an additional 3 minutes.

     Fast Fixes with Beef

    All of these recipes are designed to get your dinner on the table with little or no effort. It will eliminate the, "What's for dinner?" and "I've only got 15 minutes to figure it out" dilemmas. All three recipes use this Basic Beef Mix. Divide the mixture into four Tupperware FreezeSmart Small 2 containers (each holds

    1. Chop all veggies in Tupperware Quick Chef.2. Place veggies on broken up ground beef in 3-Quart TupperWave Casserole with Colander.3. Microwave until beef and veggies are done and tender. Break up beef several times during cooking4. Cool and store in Tupperware FreezeSmart Small 2 containers.

    Beef Tetrazzini

    Makes 4 servings.Ingredients

      * 1 Basic Beef Mix  * ¼ cup skim milk  * 1 can cream of mushroom soup  * 10-oz. pkg. frozen broccoli  * 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese  * 1 tsp. Chef Series Italian Herb Seasoning Blend  * 2 cups egg noodles, cooked (microwave recipe)

    Beef Stroganoff

    Makes 4 servings.Ingredients

      * 1 Basic Beef Mix  * 1 clove garlic minced  * 4-oz. can sliced mushrooms  * 1 can cream of of chicken soup  * 2 Tbsp. ketchup  * 1 cup sour cream  * 2 cups egg noodles, cooked (microwave recipe)

    1. Mix together all ingredients (except sour cream and noodles) in 3-QuartTupperWave Casserole.2. Microwave 10 minutes (_____) at 100% power, stirring once or twice durin

    Beef Oriental

    Makes 4 servings.Ingredients

      * 1 Basic Beef Mix  * 2 tsp. Soy Sauce  * 16 oz. pkg. oriental veggies, defrosted

      * 16 oz. can tomatoes, drained  * ¼ tsp. ginger  * 1 cup sour cream  * 2 cups cooked rice

    1. Mix together all ingredients (except rice) in 3-Quart TupperWave Casserole.2. Microwave 12 minutes (_____) at 100% power, stirring once or twice during cooking.3. Serve over rice.

    Tupperware Micro-Steamer Taco Dip

      * 1 pound ground beef  * 1 can refried beans  * 1 pkg ortega taco seasoning mix  * 1 jar ortega salsa  * 2 cups cheddar cheese  * Tortilla chips

    Put ground beef into the steamer basket and cover. Put into microwave and cook 3 minutes, break up hamburger into smaller pieces and then microwave another 3 minutes. Remove hamburger and drain fat out of the bottom. Place hamburger into the bottom of the microsteamer and add beans,salsa, and seasoning. Stir well and place into microwave for 2-3 min. Add shredded cheddar cheese and put into the microwave another 1-2 minutes till melted. Eat while warm with tortilla chips.

    Pineapple Upsidedown Cake

    1/4 cup butter1/2 cup brown sugar1 can pineapple rings (save juice)Maraschino cherriesJiffy yellow cake mix (these are the small boxes of cake mixes)

    Combine butter and sugar in the Tupperware Microsteamer or the base of the Tupperware Oval Microwave Cooker and microwave on High for 2 minutes to form a syrup.

    Arrange the pineapple rings and cherries in the syrup.

    Prepare the yellow Jiffy mix according to the box (substituting pineapple juicefor some of the liquid).

    Pour evenly over the fruit and micro on medium for 7 minutes.

    Turn dish and microwave for 3 minutes on high. Immediately invert onto serving platter.

    Five Layer Bars

    Ingredients

      * 1/3 cup butter  * 1 cup graham cracker crumbs

      * ¾ cup milk chocolate chips  * ¾ cup coconut shredded (chow mein noodles may be used instead of Coconut)  * 2/3 cup chopped pecans  * 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk

    Tupperware Rock 'N Serve Containers

    1. Put butter in Tupperware Rock 'N Serve Medium Shallow Container. Cover and melt in microwave.2. Stir in graham cracker crumbs and press evenly on bottom of container.3. Microwave 2 minutes (_____) at 100% power.4. Sprinkle chocolate chips, then coconut, and finally nuts. Pour condensed

     milk evenly over all.5. Microwave 5 minutes (_____) at 100% power, or until bubbly all over.6. Let cool and cut into bars.

    The secret to Microwave toast

    Venting seems to be the secret to get anything a little crispier. The water needs to escape, so the more the surface that is exposed the better.

    All you need for toast is one of those large plastic spoons with the slots cut in them.

    1: Place the spoon in the microwave cup side up.2: Place one slice of white bread on the spoon portion3: Cook on high for 1 minute.

    When you retrieve the bread it will be crispy.

    4: Butter the toast, sprinkle cinnamon on the butter, and place back in the microwave on the spoon for 10 seconds.5: Enjoy

    If you like your toast a little on the brown side, you can get it to brown on the inside by cooking it a little longer in the first step.

    I guess I should mention that my microwave has a turntable and the bread is on the outer part of the turntable.
