IntroductionRed cards communications for race walking is a software developed with several purposes to make easier organization ofRace Walking events.

Its main features are: Fast communication of Red cards to recorder using any kind of mobile phone. Automatic flag for recorder of 3rd red card of an athlete to be disqualified by Chief Judge or to enter in Pit Lane. Generate real time output for scoreboard of Red Cards. Generate Excel file with Race Walking Summary Sheet. Possibility of publish red cards scoreboard throw mobile friendly website for team officials.

Hardware/Software requirementsThere are two ways of use of the system:

Basic mode: using SMS messages Advanced mode: using internet connection

Basic modeThis systems uses SMS messages as way of communication between judges and recorder. Hardware and software require-ments are the following:

Laptop with Windows 7 or higher (Framework .NET 4.0) USB modem (with SIM card). Mobile phones with capability of sending SMS messages. Red cards communication for RW software.

Advanced modeIn this mode of use, system uses internet connection as way of communications between judges and recorder. Hardwareand software requirements are the following:

Laptop with Windows 7 or higher (Framework .NET 4.0) Internet connection for laptop. Mobile phones with internet connection and at least 4 inches touch screen. It could be used tablet devices with ofinternet connection. Operative system is not relevant, then IOS, Android or windows phone could be used.

Red cards communication for RW software.

For this mode, it’s needed to have installed web server with following requirements:

PHP (if possible over Linux server) MySQL data base with capability of remote connections. Red cards communication for RW PHP files.

As conclusion, it won’t be needed big investments to use this system.
