Existing buildingProblems:
• Cold in the morning
• Some of the lecture rooms at ground floor are very noisy because of their location near busy walking routes.
•The building is inaccessible for disabled people.
• Insufficient number of toilets. On the ground floor only toilets for females are present, at the first floor the toilets are only for males.

SWOT analysis (FODA)
• Strong points: New auditorium, mild weather conditions
• Weak points: Entrance lies far from the plot
• Opportunities: Better accesibility and use existing building
• Threats : Estimated growth of students is too high
July 2, 2004 14
Stakeholders
• Governmental bodies: improval definitive design
• Client: financing: project, making decisions• Committee of Infrastructure UCB
• Operators/ personnel: operate, maintain and manage building
• Users: students and teachers
• External parties: architects, engineers and contractors

Problem analysis• Definition problem
• The current campus Tupuraya of the university Católica Boliviana will reach its capacity within a few years and needs expansion to meet its future capacity
• Objectives• The objective of this project is to make a structural design for the
future university building of campus Tupuraya, which will meet the requirements of the Committee of Infrastructure of the UCB.
• Limiting conditions/starting points/assumptions• Functional, technical, legal, financial, environmental, social,
construction

Recommendations
•Area for students laboratories has to be increased
•Internet rooms should be at the ground level
•Control room has to be located near the internet rooms
•Connection with existing building (slope)
•Toilets more evenly spread
