La Fundación concedió el Premio al Pueblo Ejemplar

de Asturias en su edición de 2014 al Movimiento

asociativo y vecinal de Boal. El galardón es un

reconocimiento al pueblo, aldea, núcleo de población,

espacio paisajístico o grupo humano del Principado

de Asturias que haya destacado de modo notable

“en la defensa y conservación de su entorno natural,

ambiental, de su patrimonio histórico, cultural o

artístico, en iniciativas de impulso económico o

en la realización de obras comunales u otras

manifestaciones de solidaridad sobresalientes”.

SS.MM. los Reyes se desplazaron a Boal al

día siguiente de la ceremonia de entrega de los

Premios. Acompañados por las autoridades,

iniciaron el recorrido a pie en el Paseo Indiano.

Durante el trayecto, SS.MM. los Reyes saludaron a

los miembros del movimiento asociativo y vecinal

y visitaron el Centro de Interpretación Lavadero

de Boal. A continuación, se dirigieron a la plaza

de los Emigrantes para presenciar una recreación

costumbrista de la forja del clavo. El acto institucional

comenzó con unas palabras de bienvenida del alcalde

de Boal, José Antonio Barrientos González. Tras la

lectura del acta, Don Felipe hizo entrega del galardón

a Amparo Díaz Fernández, presidenta de la Asociación

Cívica de Naturales, Vecinos y Amigos del Concejo de

Boal. A continuación, Gloria López Téllez, miembro

de “Forum Boal 3000”, pronunció unas palabras de

agradecimiento. A su término, S.M. el Rey dirigió

un discurso a los presentes. Tras escuchar el himno

de Asturias, interpretado por el Coro Villa de Boal,

la comitiva se trasladó a la Casa de la Apicultura,

centro de divulgación e interpretación relacionado

con el arte de la cría de las abejas. El recorrido llegó

The Foundation conferred the 2014 Exemplary

Town of Asturias Award on the Boal Association and

Neighbourhood Movement. The Award constitutes a

recognition of the town, village, population centre,

scenic area or group of people in the Principality

of Asturias that has stood out in a notable way

in “in defending and conserving its natural or

environmental setting, its historical, cultural or

artistic heritage, in initiatives for boosting the

economy or in the carrying out of communal works

or other such outstanding displays of solidarity.”

TM The King and Queen visited Boal the day

after the Prince of Asturias Awards Ceremony.

Accompanied by the local authorities, they began

their walking tour on Paseo Indiano promenade.

Along the way, Their Majesties greeted the members

of the association and neighbourhood movement

and visited the Boal Public Washhouse Interpretation

Centre. The King and Queen then headed on to Plaza

de los Emigrantes to watch an enactment of the

traditional art of forging nails. The official ceremony

began with the Mayor of Boal, José Antonio

Barrientos González, offering words of welcome.

After the reading of the Minutes of the Jury, King

Felipe presented the Award to the President of the

Civic Association of Natives, Residents and Friends

of the Borough of Boal, Amparo Díaz Fernández.

Gloria López Téllez, member of “Forum Boal 3000”,

then gave a short speech of gratitude. At the end

of the ceremony, HM The King addressed those

present. After hearing the Asturian anthem, sung

by the Boal Town Choir, the retinue moved along

to the Apiculture House, an interpretation centre

for disseminating the art of bee-keeping. The tour

a su término en las Escuelas Graduadas, fundadas en

1911 por la “Sociedad de Instrucción de los Naturales

del Concejo de Boal en La Habana”. La visita oficial

concluyó con el almuerzo ofrecido por la Fundación

y los vecinos de Boal en honor de SS.MM. los Reyes.

Rioseco acogió el V Encuentro de Pueblos Ejemplares

Rioseco, capital del concejo de Sobrescobio, Premio

al Pueblo Ejemplar de Asturias 2009, acogió en el

mes de junio el V Encuentro de Pueblos Ejemplares.

El acto contó con las intervenciones de Aladino

Fernández García, profesor titular de Geografía de la

Universidad de Oviedo, y de José María Mantecón

Jara, director del Parque Minero de Riotinto.

Posteriormente los asistentes al encuentro realizaron

una visita al Museo Casa del Agua de Rioseco y un

recorrido por el pueblo.

Exposición fotográfica: “24 años de pueblos

ejemplares”

La localidad de Rioseco acogió entre los meses

de junio y agosto una exposición dedicada

Rioseco hosted the 5th Meeting of Exemplary Towns

In June, Rioseco, capital of the borough of

Sobrescobio (2009 Exemplary Town of Asturias

Award), hosted the 5th Meeting of Exemplary Towns.

The event featured Aladino Fernández García, Senior

Lecturer in Geography at the University of Oviedo,

and José María Mantecón Jara, Director of the

Riotinto Mining Park. Those attending the meeting

later visited the Rioseco Water House Museum and

toured the village.

Photo exhibition: “24 Years of Exemplary Towns”

From June to August, the village of Rioseco hosted

an exhibition devoted to the 24 towns, villages

and neighbourhood communities that have received

a los 24 pueblos, localidades y comunidades

vecinales que han recibido este galardón. La

exposición incluyó una selección de imágenes y

textos significativos en la historia de este galardón,

anotaciones acerca de la relación de los pueblos

ejemplares con la gastronomía asturiana, así como

información de carácter general sobre la Fundación,

los actos en torno a la ceremonia de entrega de

Premios y las actividades del Área Musical. Tras la

concesión del Premio al Pueblo Ejemplar 2014 a Boal,

la muestra se completó con imágenes de la última

localidad galardonada y fue expuesta en el Paseo

de los Álamos, en Oviedo, coincidiendo

con la semana de entrega de los Premios.

With the conferral of the 2014 Exemplary Town

Award on Boal, photos of this latest award-winning

township were added to round off the exhibit,

which was then displayed along Paseo de

los Alamos promenade in Oviedo, coinciding

with Awards Week.
