FIRST READING Moses said to the people: "Remember how for forty years now the LORD, your God, has directed all your journeying in the desert, so as to test you by affliction and find out whether or not it was your intention to keep his commandments. He therefore let you be afflicted with hunger, and then fed you with manna, a food unknown to you and your fathers, in order to show you that not by bread alone does one live, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of the LORD. "Do not forget the LORD, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery; who guided you through the vast and terrible desert with its saraph serpents and scorpions, its parched and waterless ground; who brought forth water for you from the flinty rock and fed you in the desert with manna, a food unknown to your fathers."

SECOND READING Brothers and sisters: The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.

Teach children everyday actions to reduce the spread of germs It is appropriate to frequently remind your children about ways to avoid or reduce the spread of germs and to start practicing at home. Among the tips are: Stay away from people who are cough-ing, sneezing or sick. Remind them to cough or sneeze into a tissue or their elbow, then throw the tissue into the trash. Get the children into a hand-washing habit.Teach them to wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, es-pecially after blowing their nose, coughing, or sneezing; going to the bathroom; and before eat-ing or preparing food.If soap and water are not available, teach them to use hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer should contain at least 60% alcohol. Su-pervise young children when they use hand sani-tizer to prevent swallowing alcohol. PRIMER LECTURA En aquel tiempo, habló Moisés al pueblo y le dijo: “Recuerda el camino que el Señor, tu Dios, te ha hecho recorrer estos cuarenta años por el desierto, para afligirte, para ponerte a prueba y conocer si ibas a guardar sus man-damientos o no. Él te afligió, haciéndote pasar hambre, y después te ali-mentó con el maná, que ni tú ni tus padres conocían, para enseñarte que no sólo de pan vive el hombre, sino también de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios. No sea que te olvides del Señor, tu Dios, que te sacó de Egipto y de la esclavitud; que te hizo recorrer aquel desier-to inmenso y terrible, lleno de serpientes y alacranes; que en una tierra árida hizo brotar para ti agua de la roca más dura, y que te alimentó en el desierto con un maná que no conocían tus padres”.

SEGUNDA LECTURA Hermanos: El cáliz de la bendición con el que damos gra-cias, ¿no nos une a Cristo por medio de su sangre? Y el pan que partimos, ¿no nos une a Cristo por medio de su cuerpo? El pan es uno, y así nosotros, aunque somos mu-chos, formamos un solo cuerpo, porque todos comemos del mismo pan.

EVANGELIO En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a los judíos: “Yo soy el pan vivo que ha bajado del cielo; el que coma de este pan vivirá para siempre. Y el pan que yo les voy a dar es mi carne para que el mundo tenga vida”. Entonces los judíos se pusieron a discutir entre sí: “¿Cómo puede éste darnos a comer su carne?” Jesús les dijo: “Yo les aseguro: Si no comen la carne del Hijo del hombre y no beben su sangre, no podrán tener vida en ustedes. El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre, tiene vida eterna y yo lo resucitaré el último día. Mi carne es verdadera comida y mi sangre es verdadera bebida. El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre, perma-nece en mí y yo en él. Como el Padre, que me ha envia-do, posee la vida y yo vivo por él, así también el que me come vivirá por mí. Éste es el pan que ha bajado del cielo; no es como el ma-ná que comieron sus padres, pues murieron. El que come de este pan vivirá para siempre”.

SALMO R. (12a) Bendito sea el Señor. Glorifica al Señor, Jerusalén; a Dios ríndele honores, Israel. El refuerza el cerrojo de tus puertas y bendice a tus hijos en tu casa. El mantiene la paz en tus fronteras, con su trigo mejor sacia tu hambre. El envía a la tierra su mensaje y su palabra corre velozmente. Le muestra a Jacob sus pensamientos. sus normas y designios a Israel. No ha hecho nada igual con ningún pueblo ni le ha confiado a otro sus proyectos.

Holy Virgin of Guadalupe,

Queen of the Angels

and Mother of the Americas.

We fly to you today as your beloved children.

We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as

you did at the wedding in Cana.

Pray for us, loving Mother,

and gain for our nation and world,

and for all our families and loved ones,

the protection of your holy angels,

that we may be spared the worst of this illness.

For those already afflicted,

we ask you to obtain the grace of

healing and deliverance.

Hear the cries of those who are

vulnerable and fearful,

wipe away their tears and help them to trust.

In this time of trial and testing,

teach all of us in the Church to love one

another and to be patient and kind.

Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to

our land and to our hearts.

We come to you with confidence,

knowing that you truly are our

compassionate mother,

health of the sick and cause of our joy.

Shelter us under the mantle of your protection,

keep us in the embrace of your arms,

help us always to know the love of your Son,

Jesus.

Amen.

Acudimos a ti hoy como tus amados hijos.

Te pedimos que intercedas por nosotros con tu

En este tiempo de dificultad y prueba,

enséñanos a todos en la Iglesia a amarnos los unos

a los otros y a ser pacientes y amables.

Ayúdanos a llevar la paz de Jesús a nuestra

tierra y a nuestros corazones.

Acudimos a ti con confianza, sabiendo que

realmente eres nuestra madre compasiva,

la salud de los enfermos y la causa

de nuestra alegría.

Refúgianos bajo el manto de tu protección,

mantennos en el abrazo de tus brazos,

ayúdanos a conocer siempre el amor de tu Hijo,

Jesús.
