La Sardana, la danza ms represen-

tativa y arraigada del pueblo cataln.

Su sobriedad y armona os cautivarn.

La Sardana es la danza popular con-siderada el baile nacional de la comuni-dad autnoma de Catalua. Su nombrepuede hacer referencia tanto al baileque se ejecuta como a la msica. staes una danza colectiva que bailan hom-bres y mujeres cogidos de las manosformando un crculo y punteando con

los pies los compases de la cancin.

Para disfrutar este baile cataln, elcual se populariz a nales del siglo XIX,un nmero indeterminado de personasforman un corro mirando al centro, bai-lando hacia derecha e izquierda con untempo bastante estable, en momentosms lento y en otros ms animado.

Esta danza es ms compleja de loque parece, teniendo en cuenta quelos bailarines deben contar el nmerode pasos que hacen, as como tambinidenticar los cambios de ritmo y devolumen de la cancin e interpretar-

bailar canciones populares y sardanas.A medida que pasaban los aos la

Sardana se iba arraigando en Cataluacomo smbolo poltico, cosa que hizoque se convirtiera en la danza nacional.Fue por ese motivo que, durante la dic-tadura de Primo de Rivera (1923-1930),se prohibi bailar sardanas. Posterior-mente, en la Guerra civil espaola sefren por completo la intensa actividadsardanstica, aunque el smbolo patriti-co y nacionalista ya estaba establecidoy adopt connotaciones reivindicativas.

Al terminar la dictadura franquista elmovimiento sardanista se recuper y

se expandi con ms fuerza, constitu-yendo nuevas entidades que trabajabanpara la recuperacin del patrimonio cul-tural y las libertades democrticas.

En el ao 2010, desde la Generalitatde Catalua se inscribi la Sardana enel Catlogo del Patrimonio Festivo deCatalua, declarndola as elementofestivo patrimonial de inters nacional.

El Poble Espanyol, un recinto nico

tura ordenada en tres naves, todas ellasprcticamente a la misma altura, y conunas sobrias y altas columnas que, jun-to las vidrieras, el altar y el preciosorosetn, consiguen darle al recinto unaimpresionante amplitud.

Aprovechad para deleitaos la vista con laque es, sin duda, una de las iglesias msbonitas de todo el continente europeo.

Sin duda las Olimpiadas fueron elpunto determinante que cambi porcompleto el turismo en Barcelona. Del92 a ahora ha habido un cambio signi-cativo, en nmero de personas, y enrenombre a nivel mundial. Puedes ir acualquier sitio del mundo y decir queeres de Barcelona, y todo el mundo sa-br de qu ests hablando, y raramente

no habr quien te diga que Barcelonaes una ciudad fantstica que les encan-tara visitar, si es que no lo han hechoya. Barcelona es uno de los sitios msqueridos del mundo, y tambin de losms visitados.

Han cambiado los alicien-tes, que orece la ciudad y buscanlos turistas cuando vienen a Bar-celona, en los ltimos 25 aos?

S, seguramente po-dremos encontrar el clsico turista queviene por la esta, la sangra y la paella,pero tambin tenemos el que preeregozar de la arquitectura modernista, elque viene a ver el Bara o el que pre-ere empaparse de la cultura catalanay mediterrnea. Y hay quien hace unpoco de todo: por la maana SagradaFamlia, por la tarde vamos al Museode Cera, por la noche al Bara y luegovamos a tomar algo. Barcelona, comodeca, tiene oferta para todos. Eso s,todos coinciden en pasearse por LaRambla, uno de los boulevares ms bo-nitos de todo el mundo.

Puede citarnos alguno de losltimos cambios que animan al

turista a visitar el Museo de Cera?

El Museo de Cera es un clsico de laciudad, no solo por sus originales es-cenografas o su coleccin de casi 300guras, tambin por un edicio nue-vecentista que hay que ver. Es un sitio

recurrente del visitante de cruceros, por-que estamos a 5 minutos del puerto ytenemos una oferta completa: un museoimprescindible, uno de los bares ms fa-mosos del pas (El Bosc de les Fades) yuna tienda con los souvenirs ms origi-nales y de calidad que encontrarn en lazona (El Passatge del Temps).

Ya hemos visto cuales sonlos puntos uertes en lo que serefere a la atraccin de turistasa la ciudad de Barcelona. Hayalgn punto dbil que deberamejorar la ciudad?

Siempre hay cosas a corregir en unaciudad, y eso bien lo sabemos los ciuda-danos. Creo que debemos combatir msla oferta turstica fraudulenta, los timos ylas propuestas de mala calidad que pue-blan la ciudad. Todava hoy hay restau-rantes que ofrecen paellas malsimas, osupuestos museos que solo hacen quetimar al turista. Pero tenemos mucho ca-mino recorrido: la oferta de hoy en Bar-celona es mejor que la de ayer.
