THE HISTORY OF MALAGA. Málaga is a municipality, capital of the

province of Málaga, in the autonomus community of Andalusia, Spain.

Málaga´s history spans about 2800 years, making it one of the oldest cities in the world.

The archaeological remains and monuments from the Phoenician, Roman, Arabic and Christian eras make the history center of the city an “open museum”, displaying its history of more than 3000 years.

MÁLAGA FAIR. The first such celebration took place in the

form of a procession on the Feast Day of the Assumption, 15th August 1491.

The Fair has various locations in the course of its history since 1887. The main one is the Real de la Feria in the Cortijo de Torres district, active in the evening for the “Night Fair”. The sounds of flamenco and copla are everywhere.

There is bullfighting each afternoon at La Malagueta, and after sunset the fair continues at the Real.
