2002- an auto policy was formulated by the Indian Government.

Auto fuel policy was formulated to meet emission norms.

Example : If the price of the aluminium required to make engineblocks goes up in Kenya, Tata has the option to get thealuminium from other suppliers in Europe or Asia who wouldnormally get from for production in Ukraine or Russia.

Indian customers are highly discerning, educated and wellinformed. They are price sensitive and put a lot of emphasis onvalue for money.

They also maintain a local market understanding and knowledgethroughout the different markets Tata conducts business in.

Some economic issues that Tata M otors face must also be lookedat from a more localized perspective.

E.g. For instance, the market in India for cars is much differentthan the market for cars in Italy. For one, India has over onebillion more people than Italy does, thus the market is muchlarger or not as limited.
